Chapter 5 - Chapter Five

Payton

I lost it, I don't know what came over me but I just lost it. He kept saying that stupid word and I just couldn't take it. Every time he said it my anger would raise to another level, so much that I thought I was going to explode or pass out from it.

"Are you deaf? That's what I said, I want a Luna that's strong and will help lead my pack and not just run away."

I looked up from the ground that was now trembling beneath my feet to see him walking away as if this was nothing as if I was nothing. That was the straw that broke the camel's back.

"Wivcatos alevea"

Vertexes of wind formed around me. Using my arms to channel the wind, I sent it roaring in his direction. He goes barreling through the air and into a tree bringing it down. I take the opportunity to put up a force field around the clearing so he couldn't contact the rest of the pack.

He jumped to his feet looking around, I sense the shift in him, his wolf Thunder was now in control. There was so much power radiating off him. Immediately I knew, I couldn't let him transform. My witchcraft was limited until I get my full powers and while I still had access to my werewolf abilities that also was limited. Allowing him, an alpha wolf to transform would put me at a disadvantage. A simple incantation and he was trapped in his human form.

The spell my mom use to get rid of the weeds in her garden, I tweaked it a little bit and watch as the earth and vines wrap themselves around his feet, continuing up to his neck. The force field I'd put up prevented the wind storm from going beyond the barrier which made it easier to manipulate. Jason was now floating about the ground, high enough that if he fell he would defiantly break something. The wind carried me over to him and now we were eye to eye, "WEAK!" I could barely hear my voice over the blood rushing through my ears. The terrified look on Jason's face made me wonder if I sounded like the demon my dad always accused me of sounding like when I was angry. If I wasn't livid right now, I would have laughed at his deer caught in headlights expression.

"Weak, you think I'm weak,? let's have a chat about that" I lowered myself to the ground, releasing the spell on him and he plummets to the ground like a stock of potatoes. His screams sounded more like pigs being slaughtered and from the way he was holding his left hand to his chest I'm pretty sure it was broken.

"You're a witch, he breathes out trying and failing to stand up. "Just like that mother of yours, aren't you?

"I'm the one asking the question Jason, you think I am weak do you?" He was just staring at me dumbfounded.

"Wow! now you have nothing to say you overgrown dog, that's fine you don't have to say anything, but, mark my words I'll make you pay for this. "You know I never really expected to have a mate. "My mom and dad got lucky and I figured if I ever had one he would have rejected me because I'm a hybrid but this…"

"What are you?"

"I see you've finally found your voice dog but no need to worry you'll find out soon enough what I am but in the meantime let me give you something to think about." "Have you realized that my wolf wasn't present-day you rejected me? That she's not present right now?

"What are you?" he asked again

"I said don't worry about that, do you know why wolves lose their mind and kill themselves or go rogue after rejection? It's because as soon as mates are identified they form a bond, and that bond can only be broken two ways, one of which states that I have to accept your rejection for the bond to be broken and since I didn't… I'll let you figure the rest out I have to go now."

I left him trapped in his wolf form. The spell would be broken when the barrier disintegrate in about an hour. I went back to the packhouse thanking the moon goddess when there was no one around. I got in my car and drove off. I'll make Jason Reed regret this day if it's the last thing I do.

I pulled into the parking lot at the mall and got out locking the door behind me. Making my way inside, I head to the third floor where all the trendy shops are, it's time to get back to me. When my dad died, my mom and I moved from the packhouse, mainly because the pack never really cared for my mom and feared what she might do now that my dad wasn't around anymore. I overheard someone say those words. The pack members would look at me with sorrow and pity and the elders seem to have fallen in love with the phrase 'he died protecting that pack'. I take the looks and whispers anymore, especially after the alpha had appointed someone else his beta, a position that was rightfully mine. I was thirteen for god sake, what did they expect. I started making myself smaller and smaller, I wanted to be as inconspicuous as I could, until one day my mom and I decided to move.

My clothes now had been bought with the intended purpose of blending into the background and they've served their purpose. People stopped looking at me like I was getting ready to follow my dad into the afterlife. They stop coming up to me and patting my shoulders. Stop saying they were sorry for my loss, by the time I was no longer living at the packhouse, I'd become practically invisible. It's time to change that, time for me to go back to being me and that required a lot of shopping.

One would think I'd be a lot madder about the fact that he rejected me but what truly pisses me off is his reason for rejecting me. Our dads were best friends and we grew up together, he and his twin brother Josh. We were inseparable at one point and my dad trained all of us. He got some nerve, saying that I was weak, when even at eight, ten, and thirteen and he was bigger and taller I was still kicking his ass just pisses me epically off.

My dad always says "know your enemies" and since according to Jason he's changed I plan on getting to know the new him; he's defiantly my enemy.

I spend the next few hours at the mall picking out everything I needed. Over twenty pairs of jeans in different colors, black, gray, navy blue, and red, all dark colors that say badass. I got leather jackets and lots of graphic T-shirts. I got thigh-high boots for sex appeal and combats boots that will go great with the shorts I got as well. I got a couple of sunglasses as well as new training gear. My final stop at the mall was at the lingerie store. If I'm going to upgrade might as well go all the way so I got new bras, panties, thigh highs stockings, and a couple of corsets. I had to make three trips to my car and the trunk and the back seat were now full of shopping bags. On my way out I stopped off at the food court and had lunch before finally leaving the mall.

I was getting into my car when my phone rang and I looked at the screen and saw it was my mom calling me.

"Hi, mom, what's up?"

"Payton, the bank just called, they say there are over four thousand dollars worth of charges on your dad's account, anything you want to tell me? Crap! I forgot about that. "I know it's your money but you're not supposed to touch it until you're 18, and what could you possibly need four thousand dollars for?"

"I needed some stuff mom and I need to make one more stop, then I'll be home and we can talk about it, is that alright?"

"That's fine sweetheart, but we are going to talk about this."

"Sure, thanks mom I'll be home soon, Love you." Hanging up I plugged my phone into the car charger. My mom's probably going to wring my neck when she finds out what I did with the money, especially after what I'm about to do. Starting the car, I drove from the mall to my next and final stop for the day. There's a bike dealership about a mile from the mall and that was my next stop, as much as I love my dad's car it was never my style so it's time to get my own. Walking into the bike dealership I walked past the sales guy at the door asking if he can help me with anything telling him to "Follow me." They placed a new bike in the window last month and it's been there ever since and I want it.

"You" I wheeled around when I got to the display window

"Yes, miss."

"That bike, I pointed to it so he knew what I was talking about, "It's been in the window for over a month, is it just for show are is it for sale?"

"It's for sale miss but just extremely expensive."

"Is it ready to ride or needs servicing"

"It's ready to ride, just got to fill up the tank, do you know someone interested in buying it?"

"Yes I do, me, how much?" He choked on air before his face contorted into what I'm choosing to believe in disbelief.

"You're joking right?"

"Does this look like I'm joking? Where's the owner?." I get it, to him, I was a seventeen-year-old plain Jane that could not possibly afford what he deems 'extremely expensive.'

"He's in the back but I'm not going to disturb him because there is no way you can afford this, how old are you anyway, twenty-one, twenty-two? Do I know people or what?"

"Actually, I am going to be eighteen in three weeks but that's ok" If he wouldn't get the owner I'll get him myself. I walked to the front of the store where an older man was standing over the corner talking to another customer, I waited to the side until he was done with the other customer and thanked them for shopping and the lady walked off before I walked over.

"Hello, can I talk to the owner please?"

"That would be me, miss, what can I do for you today?"

"The bike that has been on display for over a month, I want to buy it." He didn't even blink.

"Well that's a hundred and fifty thousand dollar bike miss and we don't do layaway." That was fine with me.

I pulled my debit card out of my purse and place it on the counter. "This sir is a gold card, they don't just give these to anybody so I don't give a horse's ass what it cost, I want it!" I push the card across the counter at the now wide-eyed owner. "Right this way miss."
