Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

I didn't make it back to my friends, I didn't even make it to my first class. I run to the bathroom thanking the Goddess that there was one on every level of the school. I checked and made sure that I was alone before and locked the door. Once the door was locked I lean my back against it slowly sliding down onto the floor and catching my breath.

I didn't just put a stop to things because the bell was going to ring or because he was getting forcefully, but I liked it or rather my body likes it. I've never experienced it obviously since I didn't have a mate before but I'd forgotten what they said about feeling sparks when mates come into contact. The minute he drew me into his arms my whole body erupted like fireworks. It took every ounce of self-control I had not to have pulled away and when he kissed me, my arms hadn't gone around his neck simply because I needed to get his hair but because I needed to anchor myself before my knees gave out. This was bad, especially for what I have planned.

I don't know how long I sat on the bathroom floor but eventually my body calm down and I was able to pick myself up off the floor. I walked over to the sink, I look myself over in the mirror, the little makeup I'd put on was now ruined and my skin was a little pale. I didn't bring any makeup with me to school so I just decided to wash the rest of it off. It was when I left the bathroom and enter the empty hallway that I realized that I'd been in there much longer than I'd thought. Shit.

When I checked the time on my phone I had five minutes before the end of the first period. Hurrying to my locker I got out my books for my next classes, Biology, and English.

I made it to my Biology class just as the bell rang signaling the end of the first period and the students start to pour out. Following that, I had English then lunch, which was one of the only two classes, even though lunch couldn't be classified as a class that I had with my friends this year. The other of which was P.E. I stopped off at the girl's bathroom before going to lunch. I needed to put Wynter back to sleep for a short while, just long enough for me to test something with Jason. Five minutes later I left the bathroom and headed for the cafeteria. I spotted my friends right away but the person that wanted to see was nowhere to be found. He and his stupid friends have sat at the same table for as long as I could remember and now the one time I chose to care they were not there.

Making my way over to my table, I sat down with my lunch that I brought from home, my butt barely hit the seat before my friends were on me like white on rice.

"Mind telling us what the hell is going on, first you show up at school dressed as Victoria's Secret model then you're sticking your tongue down the Alpha's throat."

"Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Well hello to you too Lydia, and for your information, I wasn't sticking, as you so eloquently put it, my tongue down his throat, he was sticking his tongue down my throat."

"Cut the crap Payton, what's going on?"

"Well, Tameka, this is called getting revenge, I'm going to make your, so-call Alpha, pay for rejecting me."

"What. Why? We thought you didn't care that he rejected you." Tameka's voice went from shock to apprehensive in a nanosecond and I didn't blame her.

"I didn't care, but that was until I asked him why he rejected me, and let's just say that his answer didn't sit well with me."

"If you want revenge why were you kissing him then?" Lydia was uncharacteristically quiet for this integration.

"It's all a part of the plan, has his mate, rejected or not he can't hurt me, physically anyway, his wolf won't allow it I so plan to use that to my advantage."

"Okay so what exactly is the plan and how can we help."

"The plan Tameka is to correct his reason for rejecting me, the kiss was just a means to an end and I have everything under control I don't want you guys getting involved." They were already on the out with some pack members for being friends with me, I would never ask them or let them be put in a position where they might be kicked out of the pack.

Just then Jason walked into the cafeteria with the pack slut on his arm and the rest of his friends. If now wasn't the best time to test my theory I don't know when is. No time like the present. Isn't that the saying?

"Hello, earth to Payton." I stared at my friends confused.

"You zoned out," Tameka said

"What were you looking at?" Lydia added.

"Jason just walked in."

"And?" She question further, all the while my eyes followed their every move. The minute they sat down I was rising from my seat.

"Well, Lydia, if my plan is going to work he has to, let's say feel my present, so I'll be right back am just going to go say hi to him really quick." So far my plan was working just fine, with Wynter asleep my scent is not as strong so it's harder to pick up with so many other strong scents around. I just need to check one other thing out.

I was lost in thought so I don't notice that the cafeteria had gone completely silent or that someone had stepped in my way until I walked right into them.

"Oops sorry didn't see you there." I looked up to see Jessica standing in front of me. I tried to go around her but she stepped to her left, effectively blocking my way. Me being me thought it was just an honest mistake so I just moved to the other side when she blocked my path again. I finally had to step back and take a closer look.

"Okay, I'm sensing that there is something more going on here."

"And the bitch finally gets it."

I actually looked behind me to see if she was talking to someone else. I mean I have gone to this school for six years and been in the same pack with this girl forever and this has been the first and the longest conversation I've ever had with this girl, what possible reason could she have to call me a bitch.

That's also how I knew that the cafeteria had gone silent. I looked around with a raised brow but no one would meet my eye, not even my friends. Turning back to Jessica, I frowned at her. "I don't know what your problem is Jessica but you must have me mistaken for someone else."

"No, I don't think I do, you're the bitch that was kissing my boyfriend this morning." Boyfriend?

"First I would stop referring to me as a bitch if I were you and second as I said, you've got the wrong person, I didn't kiss anyone's boyfriend now if you'll excuse me."

I move to go around her again, and again she blocked my way this time shoving me back. I stumbled a little but my dad thought me well so I caught my balance and now am highly pissed off.

"I'll call you whatever the hell I like BITCH! You were kissing Jason this morning in the parking lot and I don't take kindly to whore kissing my boyfriend."

Okay, now I was beyond pissed, first, he rejects me because he says I am weak and now I'm being hassled by his slut. Fine! First I'm going to deal with her and then he is in for it.

I looked around Jessica and he was just sitting there, a blank look on his face with no care in the world. One minute I was giving Jason the stink eye and the next I was holding, I am sure to be bruised cheek from the slap Jessica delivered to my right cheek.

Half the cafeteria erupted in laughter and Tameka and Lydia came rushing to my side. Lydia reached out and touches my right cheek making me flinch. Defiantly bruised.

"I'm okay, you guys go back to your seat, I haven't said hi to Jason yet, I'll be there in just a minute."

"Are you sure, your cheek is all red?

"Yeah, Lydia, I'm sure."

They went back to our table and I turned my eyes back to Jason who at this point looked worried, as he should be. "Do you want to handle this or should I," I asked him but just look away. Me then.

This time I saw the slap coming but did nothing to stop it as Jessica raised her hand and delivered the second blow to the same cheek. Thanks to my dad and his martial arts training I barely felt the hit and it wasn't likely to cause further damage.

"Jessica, that's enough." Jason's, voice boom through the cafeteria.

"Learn your place bitch." Jessica spat at me before flipping her hair over her shoulder and walking off. You want to know where she went.

To sit on Reed's lap.
