"As we watch," The priest, Father joel started and the others picked up after him.
"As we watch and bid the souls Lost farewell, we hope they obtain external rest.. "
As they continue to mutter out prayer, the priest proceeds with anointing the bodies of dismantled exorcists that laid lifeless and disorganized on the mat.
They were different from what the name portrays. They were different in both sense and doings- and they felt that made them special.
Truly, the true meaning of why they were constituted, has been long forgotten, since it was passed down from generation to generation till the present generation. But one thing was certain, their purpose.
It was to annihilate any inhuman physique, or beasts that were not of this world and cause disturbance of all sort.
That centered on the werewolves.
Their special skills include levitation and binding with portions.
Levitation was a skill passed down to them, they could control weapons on air and on the ground. They knew not of how they've gained it, but they saw it as a purpose.
In their hood, they consist of there essences.
Those that could make potions and harness them into weapons, those that could utilize the weapons with levitating. And those, those that couldn't do any of these. They were set and allowed to have families.
Father Joel shakes his head as he anoints the last one of them. Most of the young man's parts were missing. The rest of the bodies that laid on the mat, parts weren't as badly sntached as this one was. But it was still recognizable. His face was, and the priest wished it wasn't.
It was his nephew, the only surviving son from his family.
He tries not to deplete his emotions by moving away from him, muttering the prayer along with the others.
"Amen" they chorused
"We have seen what these demons called wolves have done to us and will continue to do to our love ones and families of our town," he started, gaining everyone's attention.
"Now is not the time that we must relent, cower or succumb in fear. We will not let the efforts of our brothers and fathers go in vain, I urge every one of you to be strong. Unless every last one of those werewolf heads has been set apart from its body, this…" he points to the bodies that were starting to stink. "This will be our faith, we'll continue to be in danger."
Each and everyone nodded. They all looked furious.
"This has to stop! We must take them at all costs! Surely, more life will be lost but the sacrifices are for our children. We must not relent, brothers! We will fight!!"
"We fight!!!" they chorused
Theo stood on the branch from afar as he watched them. Surely they've had more lost, but what he couldn't quite comprehend was why they thought the killings were coming from the wolves.
This was something he had been on for a long time. It did not quite make sense to him. All the effort he made to track out and see who has been responsible for the killings always led to them, and he didn't understand why.
He hadn't spoken to his third and second in command about this. It was a theory he wanted to be sure of before relaying the message.
Theo waited for the prayers to be said, and carefully followed them to the cemetery where the bodies were to be buried.
He waited some more for the priests and exorcists to say their prayers, dip the bodies six feet below, head out before he came out from his hiding spot.
He went to the grave of the one that was badly injured and flesh scattered. If he could get closer, and look at the bodies he can surely tell if it was a werewolf that had done this to them or if it was something else.
When Theo got to the grave where the body laid, he noted that they didn't bother covering it up. They must be waiting for the mortuary attendant to do it.
'That means they would be back soon, with the mortuary attendant.' he noted
He looks over at the coffin. It wasn't jammed properly.
'That's weird' theo thought
But never the less it would make his work easier. With one hand, he opens the not so heavy casket just to get strung by an arrow going through his palm.
It was a trap!
He pulls the coffin apart, the deranged body coming into view. Theo tries to pull the arrow out of his palm but it just causes more discomfort to his palm.
He noted this as well. The discomfort.
Were wolves heal almost immediately but strangely… He felt like something was spreading through his arm heading for his heart.
It was the potion they use in dimonizing werewolves.
He viciously rips the arrow out, causing him to screech in pain.
"Hey, there's someone standing close to one of the graves," he hears the mortuary attendant screams for the others.
Fuck' Theo mutters as he hears footsteps approaching swiftly.
He use his other arm to hold on to his wounded arm that had gone numb, for support and made for the woods.
"I knew they would come," came the fierce voice of the priest we must not let them escape! Check the branches, the leaves each corner! They must not escape!!!!" The priest orders and the rest scrambles forward ready to do just as told.
Theo pushes himself from the tree he had decided was a good spot to hide. Surely, they know more about werewolves than he thought.
'Did they learn their antics from the few they've killed? Or someone from his pack is letting this information known?'
Theo think to himself, he couldn't think straight right now hence the thoughts… He decided.
His pack couldn't have done that, what would they gain from killing one of their own?
"He is somewhere around! Don't let him go! The potion must have made him collapse!" He hears the priest chants again
Although he was feeling dizzy, but he wasn't feeling that yet. Perks of being the Alpha. He has to use a good amount of strength before he collapses.
He hasn't used any, He was simply just moving about from one spot they've checked before to the other.
A loud growl rips from the woods alerting the priests and his men.
"One of our traps must have caught a werewolf, quick hurry!" one of the men said and they quickly began rushing in that direction, leaving the priest yelling for them to not go yet.
The priest looks back seeing that he is now alone in the woods, he picked up his rifle and pointed it to a not so specific direction.
"I know you're out there, listening to me. I may not catch you now… And even if you happen to leave through a new day, I promise you'll regret not dying tonight."
Theo almost chuckled at his attempt in trying to scare him, but he held himself together because the pain was starting to throb him extremely.
He watched as the priest disappeared slowly but fearfully.
Theo sniffed the air, to check if he could sense any presence lingering in the air but there wasn't.
He tries to link his Beta and Gamma but he was too weak as it is. He needs to preserve his energy.
Instead, he shares the pain he was feeling to the pack link hoping someone would come soon With blood so he could get a hold of himself and his thoughts before he can figure out how to remove the potion that is beginning to spread to his immune system.
Theo suddenly remembers something. The blood on that exorcist was still fresh. It must have decayed in his flesh by now, but he could get a good amount that would enable him to run to his pack border.
He slowly stands up as he heads for the cemetery. Using human pace, it was a long walk. He exhaled after walking for several minutes and still, he wasn't close to the cemetery ground.
He made up his mind to use his speed, even if it would cause his energy to drop, thereby succumbing to the portion that was fast spreading. If he gets there… he could quickly drink from the blood.
With his mind made up, he straightened his back before making a run to the cemetery.
He got there in time, almost collapsing into the grave, he let himself roll down inside instead of jumping in it like he did earlier.
Theo was weak… He could barely open his eyes. He reached for the casket and slowly puts his face in side
His sight went fuzzy, he was close to embracing the darkness.
"Alpha, where are you?!" he hears his gamma, Sebastian questions him from the mindlink… But he was too weak to respond.
His body went numb and with slow pace, he fell to the ground.
A figure appeared in front of him… He blinks and tries to stretch forth his hand to the person.
He silently hoped it was a member of his pack.
The igniting sensation was the last thing he remembered when the person clasped his hand into his.
His body responded to the touch and he found his wolf surfacing… The delicate touch was firm but he knew a lady's touch when he felt one, Not just any, his MATE.
