Sam wiped the tears from Coco's face. The kid was crying as tears were dripping from his face, but he didn't make a sound. Sam thought of the possibility that maybe he was mute. " You'll be my subordinate starting from now on, so there's nothing for you to worry about. "
Coco still didn't have that much of a reaction, but he stopped crying. Sam tried to clean the dirt from his clothes. There was also dirt in his hair, it was long, reaching to his hips, it wasn't cut in a very long time.
Sam stood up and looked at the old man. He too was looking at him. The old man smiled and introduced himself. " Gus, my lord. My friends call me old Gus. "
Sam smiled as well. " Welcome to hope City, as you all know, from now on, I am your Lord, I'm the owner of the territory after all." he said, a little sarcastically.
Footsteps came from the back, Sam turned and saw that Xyra had returned from her scout mission. Sam took the others to where Derrick and Daniel were working, and introduced them to each other. Seeing as more have come, the mood was positive.
The group went out of the shield, just a few meters away was a flowing river. It wasn't that deep but it was clear.
Since yesterday, Sam had already felt sticky from the dirt and sweat, he wanted a bath. He took off his coat and his shirt, his pants too and went into the water in his underwear. He waved at Coco to come as well. The Kid followed suit.
The others cleaned themselves up as well. Even Xyra, she took off her armour, and went in the water, cloth tied around her chest. When Sam saw this, he was surprised, she didn't care that there were others around. Maybe she was used to it? Even so, Sam looke at the others and said " Hey, turn around, give the ladies some privacy. "
The others hurriedly turned around, and continued to clean themselves up. Nora laughed because of their reaction, Xyra only gave a light smile.
" Water cleans but having soap and shampoo would be a blessing. " Sam thought to himself. Since this world was that of a medieval one, from what he's seen, he should make soap himself.
It seemed easy enough from videos he'd seen on the internet. After a few minutes, the group went back. Sam bought a bundle of clothes from the Clothing Shop, and put on new Clothes. He then started to fit Coco with new ones as well.
" That isn't so bad now, is it? " Sam was surprised, after a bath and new clothes, Coco looked like a different person. He was even in a good enough mood to smile.
After the others finished as well, Sam called out for them to have dinner. Just like yesterday, they are fruits from the surrounding area.
The Group then cleaned up and rested inside the Hall. Sam on the other hand, went up to the stone tablet, but before he could, Xyra called out to him.
" My Lord, I'm here to report about my recent scouting." That right, I was caught up with the Summoning that I forgot about the scout mission.
Sam smiled and said " Thank you for reminding me. Did you find anything? " Xyra then recounted the scout in great detail.
She went deeper into the jungle for this mission. She came across rare herbs and fruits that would very helpful. She also found many tracks and signs of wildlife.
After a few minutes, she came across a group of goblins. This time however, there were a lot more of them. They had made camp, fighting and bickering with each other. Some were inside crudely made tents, so she couldn't give a precise number.
Xyra only observed, when she returned, she made sure to remember the route carefully.
" Okay, good job. " Sam thanked her and Xyra bowed and left.
The goblins they fought were either a hunter party or a scouting one. The other goblins, however limited their thinking, would surely be alarmed if they don't come back. Sam scrunched his forehead in thought. His first enemies would be an army of goblins.
They were weak, but their numbers are what makes them scary.
They were also gonna need to start eating meat soon, humans can't live of off fruits.
" I can use Bestow again tomorrow, maybe we can get a useful skill. We should prepare for the Goblins."
" Let's look for information in the chat. "
