Chapter 15 - Sealing

John said, "Dr. Zhao, are you all right?" Through the gate, the light of his flashlight shone on the rolling gray fog and the ghostly claws that seemed to be burning back into Chen's back. Meanwhile, the black mist quickly dissipated from Chen's back, the surrounding winds gradually subsided, the shadows of the trees stopped dancing like ghosts, and the empty guardhouse suddenly reappeared with John's figure.

"What was that?" Chen asked, wiping the sweat from his brow.

"You mean this?" John raised his flashlight in front of Chen, "Such items can be obtained with a certain probability if you complete the tasks in the story. To be honest, this flashlight is the reward I got from my last story experience."

Knowing what Chen was about to say, John shrugged his shoulders, "Don't think too much. This item can only slightly resist the supernatural forces and temporarily repel the attack of the evil spirits. It doesn't have much other use. Besides, the effect of this item decreases every time it is used. If it is used more than three times in one story, it might even cause some bad things to happen."

"I've already used it once in the morgue, so the effect of resisting the supernatural attack might not be very good now. We'd better get out of here as soon as possible."

"Where should we go?" Chen was confused.

"History will tell us. Look, isn't there only one road ahead?" Following the direction of John's finger, Chen noticed that there was only darkness around the community, but there was a faint light from the road ahead, as if pointing them in the right direction.

Without thinking, Chen got on John's motorcycle and rode along the road. Soon, a familiar building appeared in the darkness ahead. Yes, guided by the story, the two of them returned to the Seventh People's Hospital.

On the way, Chen told John the results of his investigation of Zhao Heping's family. What puzzled him, however, was how John knew that he was in danger in the community where Zhao Heping lived and came to him in time.

"With a few more missions under your belt, you should be able to get a handle on the story clues," John explained as he drove his motorcycle erratically. "As soon as I saw the situation wasn't right, I knew you had triggered a key plot point. Whenever a key plot point is triggered, it's usually accompanied by an attack of supernatural forces. I thought, "Oh no, You guy looks like a beginner, you probably don't have anything to protect yourself. If you die, this precious clue will be broken again. So, there was no choice but to come and save you bravely.

As he spoke, he shook his head reluctantly.

I thought he was so noble. Pfft!

Soon, the two of them arrived back at the gates of the Seventh People's Hospital and looked at the outpatient building in the night sky. The two of them could feel an unusual atmosphere surrounding them.

Even in the evening, such a large hospital would still have doctors and nurses on night duty and emergency patients. However, what was in front of the two of them at that moment was a gloomy sight, with no sign of anyone or any lights, just a faint mist lingering around.

If it were an ordinary person, he would probably not have the courage to go in when he saw such a strange scene. But John and Chen knew that the only way they could truly leave this supernatural world was to enter it and end this story.

When the two of them entered the dark and strange clinic, they found that the building had become like it had been abandoned for a long time. The walls were pitch black and broken, the electric lights were rusty and yellow, and the mottled black stains on the old walls looked especially fierce.

As the two entered the hospital building, a sound rang in their minds.

"Congratulations to the participants of this story for completing the main quest and unlocking the special props."

At the same time, the two of them saw a talisman-like thing gently fall into the air and land on the hospital's reception desk.

When their fingers touched the talisman-like object, the same voice sounded again in their minds.

"The Goldlight talisman paper, with its weak spiritual power, can seal a relatively weaker ghost creature. This item is a one-time use item, and cannot be taken out of the story world."

"The usage is to stick this talisman paper on the ghost creature's body to complete the sealing."

"This is..."

"A special item given by the story to help us participants deal with the ghost creatures and complete the story." Seeing the spell that appeared in front of him, John didn't seem to be surprised.

"So, as long as we use this talisman paper and make contact with the ghost creature's body, we can end this story?"

"That's what they say, but the ghost creatures in the story are all extremely violent. It will be a life-threatening thing to make direct contact with the ghost creature's body with the talisman paper." John shook his head.

Two people, one talisman paper, undoubtedly, the person who uses the talisman paper to approach the ghost creature's body will face great danger in the process of sealing the ghost creature.

"Let me do it." Chen thought for a moment, stretched out his hand to the so-called Goldlight talisman paper. Saying that, John had already saved himself twice in this story, this time, he should take the risk by himself.

However, just as Chen was about to reach out his hand, there was another hand that grabbed the talisman paper in advance.

"Let me do it. After all, I'm more familiar with dealing with these things."

There was only one talisman paper, and only one chance to use it. John was naturally not very relieved for Chen, a novice.

"The problem now is, where should we go to find the body of this ghost creature?"

That is, the missing corpse of Qi.

"I think I should know where it will go."

"If I'm right, this missing Qi should still be there!"
