Chapter 19 - Midnight

Just as the terrible Ghost's taboo was released, Chen and John both felt a strange palpitation!

Although they didn't know what was happening, Chen felt very uncomfortable, as if there was an omnipresent sinister eye watching him all the time.

Not only Chen, but also John, who was hiding in the morgue at that moment, had that strange feeling. He crouched under one of the morgue beds, clutching his flashlight and staring nervously toward the door.

At the same time, he prayed in his heart, "Don't find me, don't find me!"

Although he prayed not to be found by the ghost, John, as an experienced person, knew that it was only a matter of time before the ghost found him.

Unfortunately, there were only two participants in this story. These two people had equal chances of being discovered. Still, John hoped that the one who would be found first would not be himself.

"It's a pity that the other is a newcomer, who probably has no means of self-defense, otherwise, he can delay a little more time."

John sighed regretfully, but at this moment, suddenly, a faint sound seemed to sound in his ears.

Clatter, clatter.

It seemed like something was slowly dragging on the ground.

John's face changed instantly.

Damn it! That ghost is coming!

At this moment, if the perspective is pulled back to the corridor, one can see a pair of bare feet floating in the air, slowly moving towards the morgue door. Although the female ghost was floating in the air, she was still making clattering noises.

One after another, like a death spell.

John, hiding under the morgue bed, was sweating profusely, and was extremely nervous.

He just hoped that the ghost would be confused by the deathly atmosphere in the morgue, as he had done last time, and failed to find his traces.

Clattering, clattering, unhurried, the footsteps gradually approached, until stopping outside the door.

At this moment, John's heart almost jumped out of his throat. Although he still had a weapon that could resist the supernatural power in his hand, he had experienced three stories and knew that these items were actually very limited in restraining ghosts.

At most, it was just few minutes.

And the flashlight had been used twice, so John didn't want to use this last chance unless it was necessary.

Creak...The door of the morgue was opened a crack by a gust of gloomy wind, which almost scared John. Fortunately, the strange footsteps stopped at the door of the morgue, just like last time.

It didn't find me.

It didn't find me.

This was the only thought that remained in John's mind.

As if fate had answered his prayers, the eerie footsteps stopped at the door, did not continue, and time slowly passed in utter silence.

Ten minutes later, with John completely drenched in cold sweat, the sound finally rang out again, but this time it moved away gradually into the distance.

The ghost had finally left!

John let out a long sigh of relief and realized a problem. This morgue had a fatal flaw – there was only one exit, and if the ghost blocked it, there was no escape.

No, he couldn't stay here anymore. John looked at the time on his watch – less than twenty minutes left until the mission was over. He decided to change strategies, keep moving, and with the flashlight and one more chance to use it, he was sure he could make it.

With this thought, John regained his confidence, wiped the sweat off his forehead, crawled out from under the corpse bed, and carefully pushed open the door while pointing the flashlight out.

In previous missions, he had heard other participants say that although ghosts have no emotions, some of them were extremely cunning, often pretending to have left, luring the hidden participants to appear and then killing them, so John was on full alert when he pushed open the door, expecting the ghost to suddenly appear.

However, the terrifying scene he imagined did not appear – before him was only an empty corridor and flickering lights.

It seemed that the ghost had indeed left. John breathed a sigh of relief, put down the flashlight, and walked slowly forward, intending to walk randomly for the next twenty minutes.

But the relieved John had not noticed that behind his head was a white ghostly figure hovering. This figure had been hiding above the morgue door, so John had not noticed when he pushed open the door.

After seeing John walk forward, the white figure silently followed behind him.

This time, John chose not to take the elevator, but instead took the stairs to the first floor of the hospital ward, intending to find a place with a wider view and see what was going on around.

Just then, the eerie sound rang out again behind John, making him shudder.

Because this sound was so close, it was almost behind him!

Under the extreme panic, John haughtily turned around, a bloody, dead horrible face, instantly and abruptly appeared in front of John.

Hehe!

I've been following you the whole time.

"Aaaahhh!"

John screamed in shock and immediately reached into his pocket for his flashlight, but the ghostly woman's hands were quicker and grabbed him by the throat.

With a twist and a snap, John's head was ripped from his body.

Thud. The mysterious flashlight also fell from John's hand, landing next to his lifeless, staring head.

When all this was done, the merciless woman stood up again.

"One left."

White bare feet floated through the air, and in the blink of an eye, she had already floated to the middle of the corridor.

If Chen had seen this scene, he would have been stunned, for the actual speed of the ghostly woman was far beyond the limits of human walking.

And at this moment, there were still fifteen minutes left until the mission was completed.
