Anna stood in the forest searching for herbs suitable for her mother's symptoms. She was trying hard to remember the symptoms of her mother's illness. Her father had forgotten to tell her what was wrong with her mum and it was a long way to the woods. She could not return home now.
As she sang happily searching through the woods for a specific type of herb, she felt a strange presence around her. She didn't know what exactly it was. But all she knew was that its presence she was familiar with but this time, it seemed different. She ignored the strange presence but it grew stronger and stronger until!
The air around her grows ice cold until her skin burns and the sky grows dark threatening to run. A thick fog formed in the forest, so thick that she couldn't see what was before her. Her instincts told her she had companies. Anna was scared to death as cold shivers ran down her spine and she shivered absently. She felt like running home to her parents but she stood on her track. She needed to get the herbs before it was too late, her mother's life depended on it. She was the most courageous girl the world had ever bred and she will not allow her mum to die all because of a threatening weather.
Anna noticed a lady staring at her with a lovely smile. She couldn't see her clearly due to the fog but she could see her white floating gown seemed to glow. At first, she was scared to her bones. It was really weird. What would a strange lady be doing in a forest dressed in such an elegant white robe and the same lady was smiling at her as though they had known since the world began? She had to find out who this strange lady was.
She paired harder through the fog but she still couldn't figure out who was standing before her and she was too scared to go closer. Then, the strange
the lady spoke with a comely voice that seemed to make all her fears disappear in a blink.
"Anna," the lady said with a track of sorrow in her voice.
Anna recognized the voice immediately, it belonged to her mother. But what was her mother doing in the forest dressed in a flowing white gown? Her mother was supposed to be at home, laying on the bed. But here she was in the woods. The last time Anna saw her mum, she was too weak to take a step.
She was confused and afraid at the same time. Was this actually her mum or a fragment of her imagination, she thought. But she was even more confused because she haven't even seen the lady's face, she only heard her voice so she could not be dead sure that it was her mother. Even though her instincts told her that the lady was her mother, she would have to ignore her instincts. That couldn't be her mother.
As though the fog could read her thoughts, it died down immediately. She could now see the face of the lady, though the place was still dark. The fact of her instincts was established, her mother was the one standing before her, wearing a smile.
"Mother, you came to check on me?" Anna inquired.
"Return home Anna, can't you see the sign in the sky?"
"Mum, you should not have done this. Why did dad allow you to come out of the cabin, you are sick."
"I am no longer sick Anna. I have been freed from the suffering of this world. You have to go home."
"Mum I know you are a strong woman but you have to admit that you are sick."
"Anna listens to me, my time here is short."
"Mum I won't listen. We don't have to argue about this. I will get the herbs as soon as possible and we will return home."
"Okay, Anna. But I have something important to tell you."
"Okay, I am listening mum."
"Anna my baby, I love you," Victoria's soul said with a solemn voice.
"I know that mum, and I love you too."
"Remember that no matter what, I am always right beside you. Remember to always remind your father to place the world before you. He should never be tempted to put the existing balance of the world in danger for your sake."
"Why is she speaking as though something terrible had happened," Anna thought.
As she finished speaking, she ascended into the sky. "I love you, Anna. You have the spirit of a sorcerer because your father is a sorcerer."
"Wait mum, you are flying," Victoria exclaimed. But before she could finish the word, her mum was already gone.
"Mum, flying, on a white shining robe," Anna thought.
Then, it came to her, it was not her mum, it was her spirit. She was dead.
With a large scream, she ran out of the woods to her father's cabin. Tears were already flowing freely from her eyes. "Mum can't be dead, it is a lie," she kept yelling.
As she arrived at the cabin, she noticed that it was completely ruined. Her father was at the other end of the cabin with a shovel which he was using to dig a shallow grave.
Quickly, she ran to her father with tears in her eyes. "Where is my mother," she screamed.
Speechless, Lucus pointed to a finely wrapped mass a few meters away. Slowly, she walked over to the body and pulled out the white clothes away from her mother's face. "Mum you are not dead right," she said calmly, wiping her tears but there was no response.
"Dad tells me it is not true," she inquired.
"I am afraid it is," Lucus replied.
"No.., no... Anna screamed. "Mum you can't do this to me," she sobbed.
Suddenly, she stood up from her squatting position and started running.
"Where are you running to," Lucus inquired.
"Leave me, alone dad," she cried still running. "And don't come after me or you will never see me again," she threatened.
Lucus attempted to run after her but he restricted the urge. She is going to be fine," he sighed and fresh tears poured from his eyes.
