"Ms. Daisy, no, author Daisy, you have no idea how much I've wanted to meet you." Jooyoung said while extending out his palms, an invitation to hold hands.
It was as if Sejeong's hands moved on their own, finding their way on top of Jooyoung's palms. When their hands touched, the warmth woke her up from her hypnotic state.
Her brain was struggling to catch up. "I'm honoured that you enjoy my work," she managed to squeak out.
Jooyoung wrapped his hands around hers, completely dwarfing her size. "I'm your biggest fan, and when I heard that you'd be hosting a meet-and-greet, I just had to come. You probably don't know this, but I've actually been looking for you. When I didn't get picked for the event, I just had to come anyways. I—just wow! I can't believe that you're actually in front of me!"
Sejeong felt like her heart would burst out of her chest. Here was a member of Tryangle holding her hand!
"I'm actually your fa—" she stopped herself from finishing her sentence. She was famous in the Trio community, and the members even recognized her from time to time. She couldn't risk exposing her identity. "Your album!" she said, "I heard your album!"
Although Jooyoung was wearing a face mask, she could see his face turn into a rosie hue. "You heard it? Oh, wow, oh, um, now I'm turning shy, haha." Sejeong could tell that he was flustered by this. "It was actually written for yo—"
Jooyoung was cut off by the door bursting open.
"Daisy!"
It was Manager Seo.
"There you were! Gosh, I can't keep my eyes off you!"
Sejeong could tell that he'd been running around. Did he think she'd be pushed within the crowd? Manager Seo's eyes focused on her hands, her hands that were wrapped by Jooyoung's.
"I'm sorry but private fan meetings are not allowed," he said, his eyes cold. "We've got to go now, Daisy." He gently pulled her behind him, blocking her from Jooyoung's view. Jooyoung had a big stature, being 178cm tall, but Manager Seo was slightly taller. She peaked over his shoulders to glance at her idol. Her years as a fan allowed her to know that he was sulking, even though he wasn't expressing it.
'How could I make Jooyoung sad!' she thought to herself. As a Trio, she was committing a felony level crime!
"Before you go, can you sign my book. Please?" Jooyoung pulled out a book from his bag. It was a first edition version of her debut book, "After The Wind Blows," and it was an extremely rare to find.
Manager Seo answered before she could, "I'm sorry but the signing event is over."
Sejeong saw Jooyoung's eyes fill with sadness, her Trio heart tightened. "I'll sign it next time! I promise!" She said.
"There will be a next time, right? Promise me!"
As she followed Manager Seo to the door, she turned back to wave goodbye. "Youngyoung, I promise!"
Manager Seo lead her into one of the staff rooms, where security was already stationed there and waiting for her. One of the guards spoke into her walkie, "The author has been found, over, the author has been found."
"Wow, it looks like I worried a lot of people. I'm really sorry that I ran off like that."
"It's okay so just sit down. You've been wearing that mask all day, can you even breath in there?" Manager Seo asked the security team to leave the room. "You can take off you mask now."
"Phew, I thought I was going to overheat in there. The air has never been so fresh! Thanks for taking care of me today, Manager Seo."
"Yeah, well, you're one handful. Who was that though? The man that you called 'Youngyoung?'"
Sejeong chocked on water she was drinking. "I called him...what?"
"Youngyoung."
"Oh my god." She slapped her forehead, "I am so, so stupid."
Out of habit she'd called Jooyoung by one of his nicknames: Youngyoung. And only a Trio would know that. Had her inner fangirl just outed herself?
"That was Jooyoung, you know, from Tryangle?"
"The boygroup?"
"Wow. I'm surprise you know them, Manager Seo. You don't seem like the type to watch TV."
"Unless you live under a rock, you'd know who Tryangle is. They're everywhere. It's against my will."
Sejeong laughed and felt a little proud of that statement. Tryangle had grown into the nation's biggest boygroup and she took extreme pride in being a Trio.
"Yeah that was Jooyoung, the leader. He said that he was my fan."
"Well he should've quietly waited like everyone else. He caused quite the mess with the crowd and not to mention you could have gotten!"
"Gotten what?"
"Nevermind, just forget it."
