Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 12: SHATTERED HEARTS

Arlo addressed Sanjana, saying, "Sanjana, before I make a decision about bringing you with me, allow me to ask you a few questions, and please be honest with me."

He paused for a moment before continuing, "Do you have feelings for me?"

Sanjana was taken aback by the unexpected question, but she couldn't deny her emotions and nodded, blushing slightly. "Yes, I do."

Arlo proceeded, his gaze fixed on hers, "Will you be loyal and honest with me for the rest of our lives?"

Meeting his gaze, Sanjana replied earnestly, "Yes, I will."

Arlo smiled gently, his tone filled with sadness. "I must be honest with you too. I am a broken-hearted person with limited experience in love, and I can't promise to give you all my love from the beginning, but I will do my best."

Sanjana felt warmth spreading through her heart at his words, and her eyes welled up with tears.

Observing her reaction, Arlo smiled even more and reassured her, "I won't let you cry." He extended his hand, gently brushing away her tears. Sanjana's heart raced, her face growing hotter and redder, and she abruptly ran out of the room, leaving Arlo behind.

As Arlo watched her flee, he found it endearing and felt a comforting warmth within him.

Arlo pondered, "I should bring her with me. I have no reason to hide my Space Cube and wrist device. After all, she is my chosen partner."

During his first visit to this room, Arlo had familiarized himself with the rules and instructions concerning the device and its usage. He knew that revealing this information to outsiders was strictly prohibited, but the same rule didn't apply to insiders, such as spouses.

Snapping out of his thoughts, he told himself, "We will leave tomorrow. I should inform Jitendra so they can bid farewell properly."

Leaving his room, Arlo headed to Jitendra's room.

Inside room 303, Jitendra, his wife, and Arlo sat facing each other.

Arlo began, "I am here to inform you that Sanjana wants to accompany me."

Both Jitendra and his wife were taken aback by the news.

Jitendra questioned, "She wants to go with you? But did you explain to her how dangerous it is out there?"

Arlo replied with a smile, "I did, but she still insists on going with me. You know your daughter better than I do. She can be quite stubborn, can't she?"

Jitendra and his wife exchanged glances and nodded. "Yes, we know."

Curiosity piqued, Jitendra inquired, "But why does she want to leave?"

Arlo smiled and glanced downward before answering, "She confessed that she has feelings for me and wants to be with me."

Jitendra and his wife were shocked by this revelation, but they smiled and appeared content. They recognized Arlo's strength and compassion towards others and could only imagine how much he would care for his own loved ones.

Jitendra nodded and said, "If that's the case, you can take her with you."

Arlo looked up, a smile gracing his face. "You don't need to worry about her safety. She will be fine. I suggest you go and say goodbye to her, as it may be a while before we return."

Back in room 302, Sanjana continued blushing, attempting to calm herself down. However, she found it difficult. At that moment, Dipti emerged from the shower and was surprised by her sister's demeanor.

Dipti asked, "Big sister, did something happen? You're smiling and blushing."

Sanjana, snapped out of her reverie, looked at her sister and replied, "It's nothing."

Before Dipti could inquire further, they heard a knock on the door.
