After dinner, Derek's guards came in with a lot of wrapped gifts. This was as a result of Derek not being able to pick out a specific gift.
As soon as they entered the mall, he picked out everything that looked good, all of high value.
Susan felt it was a bit much but there was no stopping him since she also didn't have any specific gift in mind. Plus, she wanted to avoid delay as much as possible.
"I picked out a few things. I hope you all like it." Derek said while the guards dropped the gifts.
Susan looked at her mom and dad. They didn't have any vivid expression but she could tell that they were shocked. What were they thinking?
Since they couldn't refuse, she couldn't tell if they liked the gifts or not. She decided to wait till they opened them.
"Oh my! You didn't have to." Her mom said. "I hope you didn't go through any trouble to get these."
"Not at all! This is what I should do." Derek said, smiling sincerely.
Kathrina opened her gifts and smiled.
