Chapter 54 - Brink of Crashing

They made it back to Claudia's space in a long winding way since they took the small roads to get back to the house which Claudia surprisingly did know. Alice tended to like to memorize roads nearby rather than just using a GPS to get around like how Claudia would do.

It was hilarious to Alice about the fact that Claudia couldn't even go to the nearest supermarket without her GPS. Alice was feeling a bit hungry, so they stopped at a curry place for some takeout since Marion had headed home in the morning ergo no warm food waiting for them when they got back which was fine since Alice normally would pick up the slack and make a quick dish.

Alice offered to cook since Claudia could barely even reheat her old leftovers without even a mishap happening, but Claudia suggested they bring some food back with them to save some time. If anything was more efficient than the last, Alice readily agreed since she also would like to save her strength for battling with Claudia later.

The curry place that they stopped at had a lot of different cuisines inside, but Alice said that she was craving something spicy, so Claudia wanted to meet with something in the middle. Alice was lucky that her friend could enjoy every type of food without being too picky or else it would have saddened her considering that Alice loved to explore new authentic dishes.

They made it inside with the golden hour of the sun chasing them, and Alice sat down on the sofa exhausted with all her bags brought inside, so that they could try on everything in the nice lighting of Claudia's bedroom instead of the dreadful fitting room lights along with trying on some items that they didn't get the chance to try on.

Alice was glad that she had a successful shopping trip since she was able to buy some items that she had been wanting for a long time now, it felt as though the time used for all the walking through the mall and weaving through the lines of people to try and find the best clothes was all worth it despite her crying feet from standing all day.

She flopped a hand over her eyes when Claudia pulled Alice back up to a sitting position. "Do you want to eat downstairs or in my room?"

"In your room," Alice pipped. "We have no parents to scold us for doing so."

"You're right," Claudia said. "Normally our parents would be going on and on about ettique and whatnot."

"Curry and studying sounds like the perfect pair to me."

"And my parents will think I'm actually being productive."

Alice smacked Claudia's side teasingly. "They'll see the new pile of clothes and disagree."

"Says you," Claudia rolled her eyes before going up the stairs.

Alice got to her feet and lazily followed Claudia up to her room. Some bags Alice left by the door since she didn't want to bring them all the way up with some being wall décor, a vase, and other items that weren't clothing or something along those lines.

Alice patted the clear floral painted vase before Claudia called her name, and she turned back to place the vase down on the floor and headed up.

She got to Claudia's door and sighed as Claudia dumped all the new pieces she bought to her floor which created a bigger mess.

Alice mimed rolling up her sleeves as a visual for her to start getting down for business, and Claudia rolled the empty clothing rack back out where the old clothes must have found a new home somewhere in her large closet.

Sitting down on the floor, she watched as Claudia placed her new items in piles to choose which she liked the best before she and Alice started cutting off tags. Alice did the same with hers, and an hour passed with them getting into realizing that their money had gone down the drain while in bliss since they were surrounded by clothing that they liked most.

Alice yawned while Claudia hung up the last shirt that they had with Alice's pile sitting in a neatly folded bunch in the corner. Claudia sat down and leaned her back on the backboard of her bed while Alice cracked an eye to look at her. "You should go shower before you get too tired to do it later."

"Should I eat in my pajamas?" Alice asked drowsily. "What if I stain them?"

"I'll give you an apron if you're so worried," Claudia laughed. "Your pajamas are fine."

"Let's eat while watching some TV," Alice clapped her hands together. "Wow, I'm really creating bad habits."

"You're so strict on yourself. Let's have a little fun," Claudia shook Alice back and forth to try and wake her up while Alice was still on the brink of crashing.
