The bell of a soft melody rang through the classroom signaling the end of the day. Alice clicked and unclicked her pen, finally setting it down next to her crisp notes with her neat and attractive handwriting many girls often gave her praise for.
The classroom was otherwise dead since most students were zoning out since this particular classroom was tucked away where the sun didn't shine making the room seem even drabber and colorless. As the bell rang, the students quickly came alive shuffling their papers around and their feet.
The teacher ended her lecture by circling the assignment due in the evening on the board, and Alice grabbed her textbook and notebooks from her last class of the day to stuff them into her briefcase. The scraping sounds of the chairs from students standing from their chairs echoed in the cinder-blocked room, and they made their way down the levels to file out.
Her phone chimed with a message, and she turned her phone over to see what it was. Bella reminded her to meet in the art classroom located four floors above. The academy was quite large compared to other prestigious schools in the area, and in the main building, the academy reached six floors. Otherwise, the campus had other buildings that made a large circle if there was a bird's eye view.
Five buildings made up the academy, and the students were spread out relatively well since to enter the academy, although all the students attending had to walk through the courtyard to get to their destination which connected all the buildings and the front gates. In the center, the courtyard was one of the only places where unity could be found.
Alice lifted the briefcase and strode down the levels of the room, making sure to wish the teacher a good weekend before leaving the classroom. The teacher gave her a quick smile before erasing the board, and Alice slid the wooden door open. She tugged at the bow tie around her neck since it was strangling her a bit and walked up the stairs to get up to the fourth floor and get the photoshoot done.
She smiled at those who greeted her, and finally rounded the corner where the art classrooms were located. It was a pretty location since most of the rooms in the west wing closest to the forest were mostly all glass in the hallways which made them a popular place for students to meet. Despite the picturesque quality, no one was in the hallways today, and Alice glanced around wondering what the occasion was.
The photography room Bella specified was the last one of the corridor, and Alice pulled the door open, revealing a large classroom with many windows open letting in the fresh breeze. Bella was setting up the backdrop which was a white sheet with props on a table beside the cameras and light-reflecting items. Bella pivoted her attention from the commotion around her and waved for Alice to come over.
Bella had a camera looped around her neck, her brown hair curling towards the end as it reached her back. Her friendly face was alight with warmth in her dark eyes and freckles sprinkled along her perky nose. Alice moved over and dodged the rest of Bella's photography crew to peer over her shoulder.
There were wooden chairs and fake flowers strung around the chairs to make a very organic and fairy-like first scene. There were in total about six people in a flurry around Alice to perfect the backdrop and grab other materials that were strewn around the room. She glanced down at her watch to see that Noah was late, but it didn't matter since she needed to get changed first.
"The first outfit I have selected for you is a fresh concept that captures youthful love," Bella said as she pointed to the white clothing rack.
The clothing was new with the tags still attached and seemed to be in perfect condition. Alice nodded as she oohed and ahhed at the meticulous clothing selection that showed various styles. The first outfit consisted of a baby pink ribbed sweatshirt with white buttons going down the first quarter of the sweater and a pale yellow mini skirt along with knee-high laced brown boots.
Alice has gotten whisked away to the changing rooms which were more of a small photo-developing room where one of the girls handed her the clothing to put on. She neatly folded her clothing into the corner while she slipped the cute outfit on and walked back out with Bella enthusiastically nodding while snapping quick shots of the clothing pieces chosen that Alice had to pin in some places to get the desired fit.
Dinah fixed white ribbons into her hair, tying loose bows and adding volume before Alice walked any further, and after, Bella instructed Alice to sit on the wooden chairs to wait for Noah. She turned her gaze toward the window, where she could hear the athletes training vigorously outside. Alice was already dreaming of the summer that would soon come with the warm weather finally waltzing in.
