Standing in the hall, we stare at each other down. Taking a step forward, Raven tries to break the ice. "Lilith, I believe that now is not the best time to fight among ourselves."
Smiling, she tilted her head. "What do you mean? I had no intention to harm anyone of you. And if I did something like that." Kicking her leg back, she bows deeply. "I apologize."
Keeping her head low, I fight the urge to punch her. She's mocking me, there's no way she means it! Turning to Raven, I see him close his eyes. "Your apology won't bring her back."
Snickering at him, James scratches his golden mask. "Do you want to know what else won't be brought back?" Raising his eyebrow, James slams his fist into Raven's face. "My fist!"
"Raven!" Raising my sword, I prepare to fight, but Lilith has already taken care of it.
Her hand changes into ink and wraps around James. "While it's true that I give you people the freedom to act in my name, it doesn't mean that you can do whatever you want in my presence."
Nodding his head, the ink retracts back into Lilith's sleeve. "I am sorry Ken, but it seems that James has stepped out of line. He has done it many times, so I won't hold it against you if you kill him."
"Lady!" Getting slapped over the face, James shut ups.
What's happening? Isn't she the monster after the death of my master?
Hearing Raven get up, I see him holding his head. "Damn it, James. You're gonna pay for that-" What have I done? My hand moved on its own.
Putting a hand in Raven's chest as if to signal him to stop, he looks at me in disbelief.
"What happened while I was out cold?" Looking at me, we suddenly heard loud footsteps. Seeing the armed men arrive in the hall, I get ready to fight, but a black liquid resembling ink gets fired out of Lilith's hand.
*Snap* Snapping his finger Raven freezes that liquid creating a lethal amount of bullets that shred the armed men. Ripping them apart their armor stood no chance.
"Freezing my ink causes more harm than good, Raven." Waving her off, Raven starts to walk off in the opposite direction. "Wait for me!" Running after him I take a few peeks back at James.
Kicking a gun on the ground, I ask Raven what's the problem. "That woman is the problem! I mean that apology! She's just fucking provoking me!"
Patting him on the back, I told him that I get it. But a seed of doubt was in me. What if Lilith had nothing to do with my Dojo?
"Yeah, let's get out of here, Ken." Brought from my thoughts, It's not even a step before Raven tackles me into a VIP room. "Raven! What the hell?!" Telling me to hush, we heard the rushed footsteps again, but this time. It's not the cops.
It's criminals almost stepping over each other. Once they're gone, single footsteps fill the hall. Loud metal clanking fills the hall. "Gabriel, why are we here actually? I doubt it's for taking down this... criminal network?"
Stopping in his tracks, the knight smiled. "You're right, that was the first mission, but now. I want to see this guy named Ken. The last group talked about a green man having the sword of a yellow wolf. Doesn't that just sound..."
"Holy? Your blade makes yellow light as well!" Chuckling a bit, the paladin rubs the head of the woman with him. "Yes, but my blade doesn't take the shape of an animal."
Starting to move again, Raven exhales in relief. "I thought we were gonna die." Looking at him, I ask what he means we were gonna die. Maybe it would have turned out like with the commander?"
Putting a hand on my shoulder, he says. "No, Gabriel is a whole other case entirely. He's the strongest paladin in humanity and one of its greatest swordsmen. There is no way we could win."
Nodding my head, I still feel like clashing swords with Gabriel. "That look, Alice had it as well. You want to clash swords with him don't you?" Being caught red-handed, I scratch the back of my head. "Yeah"
Chuckling a bit, we move to the room's railing. Overlooking the ruined auction stage. Raven takes off the curtains. "Let's use this to get down." Tying it to the railing, I shake my head.
"No, I can't, I know I will fall. We're at the same height as a 3rd floor would be!"
Laughing, he smiles widely. "I see, then you're going first." Tying the curtain around my waist, I shake my head. "Didn't you hear what I said?!"
Nodding his head, he tells me that he heard, but if I go first the chance of me taking him down gets dragged to 0. Telling him that he's not funny, I steel my nerves to climb down.
As if I was sliding down a pole, I felt my feet hit the ground. Feeling a huge weight fall off my chest. Seeing Ravne slide down after me, I ask him which way is to the kitchen.
"Didn't you want to get that book first?" My eyes shined up like lightbulbs as I realized that I had totally forgotten about it. "Right! The book! Thanks for reminding me!"
Running to the stage. Raven slowly walks behind me, while making sure that no dead body doesn't have too much cash on them for the afterlife. Reaching backstage, I find the book on the crate where I left it.
"Raven! It's here!" Not getting a response, I guess that he's just too busy robbing the dead, but when I turn I feel it. Having a sword dig into my neck, I see a familiar golden mask on a giant body.
"James, nice to see you." Talking in an upbeat tone, I smiled.
I'm gonna kill you right now.
"Please Ken, the pleasure is all mine."
