Running at the wall made of riot shields, my sword of ice, stabs through the plastic. "What?!" Surprised as the riot guy, I quickly return to my sense and pull out the sword. Kickin' him to the ground, I duck under a swinging halberd.
"Make sure to not kill them!" Raven yells as he jumps onto the plastic shields.
Using the guy like a trampoline, he jumps into the air. Shattering their formation.
Turning the sword in my hand, I hit a guy with a blunt side in the neck. Catching his limp body, I throw it at the guards. Falling over like bowling pins, I see a fire sprinkler on the ceiling.
Making eye contact with Raven, we both get the same idea.
Raven stabs his spear into the ground turning it into a pole. Kicking a guard away, I use him to jump onto the pole and launch myself into the air. Seeing the sprinkler in reach, I strike it with my ice sword.
*Ring!* Making a loud Rinning sound, the metal cracks spray water on everyone.
"Raven, now!" Not saying anything, he glides over the water, freezing everything around. Before they can even turn the guards' clothes and bodies freeze into an ice sculpture.
"Nice work!" I comment as I drop to the ground.
"Yeah, now I don't need to take a shower." Telling Raven he's gross, I recognize a face among the guards. It's the guy who beat Lucy. Raising my sword, I think of how he saw her as a monster. He's the one that ordered her to be beaten down. Bringing my sword on the inhumane bastard, my sword disappears into thin air as it's about to touch his chest.
"Why? Why aren't you letting me kill this bastard?" Turning to Raven, I see him dispersing his weapon into thin air. "Because I have respect for them."
"Respect? For the hate they share with you?" Not saying anything, Raven walks to one of the sculptures. "Do you know why they hate the Depraved?" Not saying anything, Raven continues.
"They're the soldiers that fought against the Depraved nations. They were there when we were at war, but now they're making a volunteer peacekeeping force here in the slums. How ironic, don't you think?"
Toppeling one of the statues over, I barely catch it before it shatters. "Raven!"
"What? Why did you catch it? He would have died and you would have nothing to do with it. Isn't that what you wanted? For them to die?" Looking at the face of a man, I gently rest him on the ground.
"I don't know anymore, I wanted to kill that guy for beating up Lucy when she couldn't even defend herself, but now? I'd feel bad. I'd feel bad for killing him, yet I don't know why....."
Looking to Raven for answers, he just gives me a smile, and for a second I think I see my master. "What are you looking for? We have to save Lucy." Bringing me out of my thoughts, I nod my head.
Moving through the halls, I ask Raven why we haven't met other volunteers.
"There isn't a lot of them, not to mention the job is very heavy on life. What do you think would have happened to those guys that tried to stop us from breaking out if I didn't stop you?"
Seeing pieces of broken ice in my head, I don't have to say anything for Raven to continue.
"Exactly, they'd be dead. That's why I respected it. Each day could be their last yet they devote it to protecting us. That's why I refuse to kill them pointlessly."
Suddenly sticking to a corner, he signals me to get close.
Peeking behind the corner, I see a girl. Wearing the volunteer uniform, she looks from walls to wall lost like Raven and me. With her light blue hair, she takes small and silent steps.
"Is that... Ella?" Getting a single nod from Raven, he comments on her lack of weapons and other small details. Walking into the hall, we make sure to let our footsteps be loud enough so she can hear us.
Turnign around, she tries to kick me. Ducking down, I let it fly at Raven.
"You bast-" Getting kicked in the jaw, he falls to the ground. Holding his chin, he stares at Ella. "Raven! I-I-I'm so sorry!" Lifting up, she starts to stutter about how she was just looking for Lucy and Marie.
"You don't say, because I have a feeling we're here for the same reason." Standing up, Raven stares down my soul. "What? Was I supposed to let it hit me?" Shaking his head, he tells I could have at least caught it.
"Guys? Do you plan to argue, or are we going to save Lucy?" Looking at Raven, I hear him whisper. "I don't care about that depraved." Slapping him, I ask him if he meant it.
Holding his cheek, he curses. "So what? I'm here because you two are here. If you two didn't want to save them I would leave them here... I think....."
I raise my hand to hit him again but get stopped by Ella. "Let it be, you know him, right?" Sighing, I lower my arm. "You're right, but it just doesn't sit right with me."
"Hello! I'm still here! I can hear you! Are we getting those two out or what?" Shrugging our shoulders, I take a step only to feel Raven's hand on my shoulder. "The other way, The higher security cells are the other way."
Starting to walk in a certain direction. We decide to follow him since we have no idea where to even look for them. Spotting a sign with [Depraved block] on it, we suddenly hear a woman's screams.
"Marie!" Ella exclaims as she runs to the source of the screams.
Running into a cell block after her, we see a guard mocking a chained-up Marie with a cat ear. I try to unsheath my sword only to find it missing.
Right our things are still confiscated. Resorting to my backup weapon, I punch the guard to the ground.
"KEN! ELLA!" Grabbing the metal doors, Ella starts to stretch the metal out of the lock. Running into the cell, she breaks Marie free.
Punching the guard on the ground, I ask him what they did to Lucy. Only for him to not respond as the punch made him hit his head on the ground.
Putting an ice-covered hand on my shoulder, I hear Raven say.
"It seems like our break out has pushed the execution forward." Saying that he looks at the empty cell, where scattered cat fur can be seen.
