Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Hospital

"Grandma, remember to eat regularly. If you don't, your stomach will hurt again." Sakura said to the old woman in front of her.

This old lady was around her 70s. Her eyes already look myopic. For normal people who don't go to war, even though living to the age of 70 is a good thing, most of them live in fear.

Actually, even though you are called a normal person, it doesn't mean that this old woman doesn't have chakra talent. Most of the normal people living in the Shinobi village were people who had given up on taking the bloody path. The bloodline talent passed down from their ancestors was already so thin, that they could barely master even the most basic jutsu.

Only strong-willed people who want to keep fighting on this road full of obstacles without qualified resources. Real examples of people like this who are still alive are Maito Gai and Rock Lee.

The two of them had poor talent in controlling chakra. Especially in techniques that have to do with changing the form of chakra into independent jutsu. They could at most only circulate chakra within the body and rely on reinforced taijutsu moves.

Unfortunately, taijutsu is not mainstream in the Shinobi world. In order to strengthen taijutsu, one must train the body to the extreme. Most people give up halfway when they experience how difficult it is to practice taijutsu to the peak.

What's more, Taijutsu is more suitable for one-on-one combat. In times of war, it was very rare for a fight involving only two people. Therefore, it is better to develop Ninjutsu techniques, which mostly have widespread damage.

"Fine, Doctor Sakura. I'll make sure grandma always eats on time." A teenage girl actually replied to Sakura. This girl was probably the granddaughter of old women.

"Yes, if something is wrong, don't hesitate to contact the hospital. Your grandmother's gastric disease is too chronic." added Sakura.

"Okay, thank you. We're leaving now!" The two people immediately left the room.

"I'm sorry Hinata, you waited so long. It's already lunch time, we'd better talk about your problems now. Is there anything that needs to be consulted?" Sakura approached a special waiting room. It was a space made for important guests.

"Actually, it wasn't me who wanted to be checked, but Boruto. It's just that this kid said he would meet at lunch time. Now, he seems to have forgotten that." said Hinata.

"Oh, is there a problem with Boruto?" Sakura asked curiously.

Hinata slowly explained what happened this morning.

"Oh, Boruto feels himself awakening the Byakugan? You have investigated with your eyes and noticed symptoms similar to blindness?" Sakura was a little surprised.

"I'm not sure either. The chakra pathways of blind people are usually cut off before touching the inner eyeball. However, that means the person's blindness is severe and it's almost impossible to see. However, Boruto said his eyes are still normal." Hinata was obviously full of anxiety.

Sakura frowned. "This is quite strange. If this incident is indeed similar to what you say, then we probably need a thorough examination."

As the two women chatted, a knock sounded followed by a boy's voice.

"Mom, Aunt Sakura, it's me."

"Boruto, come in! The door is unlocked." said Sakura.

"Excuse me..." Boruto's voice sounded tired.

"Boruto, what's wrong with you? Your face looks pale." Hinata hurriedly stood up and approached her son. Her hand examined the boy's pale face gently.

"Mom, don't worry. I'm just a little tired. Last night I didn't sleep much and now I'm really sleepy.

Auntie, hurry up and check on me. I'm really sleepy and can't help it. Hoaamm...."

"Come Boruto, let me check your pulse." Sakura immediately pulled Boruto to the patient bed.

"You seem to be malnourished. Your pulse is very weak. Hinata, it's best to let him rest first. If his condition is unstable, I'm afraid the eye examination data will be inaccurate. I will immediately prepare an inpatient room." Sakura explained.

"Thank you, Sakura. I beg your help!"

Hearing their conversation, Boruto was a little reluctant. "Eh, but I want to sleep at home. Hospitals always smell of medicine. I'm afraid I won't be able to rest properly."

10 minutes later.

Loud snoring sounded from the most luxurious inpatient room of Konoha Hospital. The yellow-haired boy was sleeping so soundly that his messy posture could be seen.

"This kid. He said the smell of the hospital would make it hard for him to sleep. Look at him now, sleeping so soundly." Hinata complained but she was also relieved that her son was resting.

"Hahaha, he's like Naruto. It won't be easy to wake up when he's asleep." Sakura laughed full of memories of the past.

"It seems you two are so close that you know each other's habits." Hinata said a little jealous.

Hearing those words, Sakura acted a little wrong and hurriedly explained. "What do you mean Hinata? It's not what you think. At that time our mission was four members. And coincidentally Naruto was still asleep when we all woke up. Captain Yamato had tried to wake him up but it didn't work. At that time I was just helping the team not to waste time and beat him to wake him up."

"You hit my husband?" Hinata's gaze suddenly turned cold.

"N-no. Not hitting. Just pressing his face a little. A little...." Sakura clearly felt guilty. An awkward silence suddenly filled the room.

"Mother... Hima wants ice cream. Mother hasn't given Hima any money." A little girl's voice came from the hallway. The innocent girl walked into the room without any sense of being troubled.

Sakura felt that she was getting amnesty. He hurriedly approached Himawari and said. "Hima... Aunty will buy yogurt. It's healthier than ice cream. Let's go with Aunty to the cafeteria."

"No, Hima wants ice cream, not yogurt? Hima wants ice cream, ice cream, ice cream!" The little girl rebelled.

"Yes, yes. Aunty will buy you ice cream as long as your mother approves." Sakura hurriedly glanced at Hinata with a complicated look.

"Sakura, then please take Hima to the canteen. Just buy one ice cream. Don't mind her if she asks for more. I'll be here to accompany Boruto." Hinata insisted.

"Alright, Mistress Hokage!" Sakura hurriedly carried Himawari and ran away from that place.

The day is getting late. Hinata accompanies Boruto to the hospital. Unlike other rooms, in this most elite room there are even two beds for guests. There are also other facilities such as television, private toilet, refrigerator and air conditioning. The comfort and spaciousness of the room makes the available facilities not disturb the view.

Himawari was fast asleep. Initially, she was very happy to be invited to the hospital. However, it turns out the hospital atmosphere is so boring. This makes her play outside all day and drains her energy.

Suddenly, a knock sounded.

"Come in!" Hinata replied.

"Are you all right?" ask the friendly voice of a man.

Hinata was very familiar with this voice and hastily stood up towards the man. "Honey, our son has a little problem." Hinata hugged her beloved man's chest warmly.

Naruto stroked Hinata's hair gently. "What happened? You can tell me."

Hinata repeated the same story.

"Don't worry. Sakura has rich medical experience. She should know what's exactly going on.

Even if the worst thing does happen. It doesn't mean he couldn't get an eye transplant. I can even really give him the Byakugan as he wants." Naruto said confidently.

"Darling, even though the Hyuga Clan keeps some of the predecessor's Byakugan, but that means you have to be indebted to the clan. What if they make extravagant demands?" Hinata asked worriedly.

"Don't worry. After all, you are the former princess of the Main Family. Father-in-law still holds the power. There's no way he would be that stingy with his own grandson." Naruto replied.

"Father will of course help. However, those elders are not easy to deal with. They will definitely force father to ask difficult things for you to accomplish." Hinata chimed in.

"I thought it wouldn't be as difficult as the dowry to marry you back then. Anyway, I even gave them Hamura's inscription from the moon. Well, that's the worst case scenario. It's not certain that Boruto will face it. I'm sure Sakura and Grandma Tsunade can figure out what happened." Naruto smiled confidently.
