Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: New Path

Hinata left the hospital in a depressed state. She thought herself would be able to improve and contribute more to the family. Who would have thought, her plan failed before it even started.

While walking erratically, she involuntarily headed towards the academy grounds. The current academy was certainly different from her era. The buildings were taller, the area was bigger, and the facilities were more complete.

Even though it's very different, Hinata still felt melancholy about the past. Those were really fun days. Who would have thought, she who was very shy would now become the wife of a Hokage?

"Naruto..." Hinata said softly. She still vividly remembered her husband's lively face when he was young. Even though her husband's life was very hard, he still struggled for change in the future.

As a result of that contemplation, Hinata seemed to regain her confidence.

"Yes, that's right. If my husband can change his life on his own, I should be able do that too. Even without a teacher, it doesn't mean I can't train advanced medical jutsu. This would probably be ten times more difficult, but not impossible." Hinata convinced herself.

Thinking about it carefully, did Tsunade get her medical knowledge from a teacher? Certainly not. Tsunade's teacher was Hiruzen who was not known for his medical skills.

Tsunade was blessed by the Senju's blood which had special healing attributes. However, this was not the only thing that made her grow. If not, shouldn't all Senju be high-level medical experts?

Tsunade must have also done a lot of experiments on her own so that her achievements could surpass other Senju in this field.

If Tsunade Senju could do it, how Hinata Hyuga couldn't? The Hyuga clan might not have blood with healing attributes, but they understood the ins and outs of the human body more than anyone else. Thanks to the Byakugan, the Hyuga's accumulated knowledge of internal organs and chakra pathways surpassed many people.

It's just that most Hyugas used this knowledge to kill faster, not to save lives. Therefore, almost no one had developed the Hyuga medical path to fly higher.

"Welcome, Mrs. Hinata. Please come in!" An Anbu guarded the fifth floor of the academy library greeted Hinata. This was already the third time she had received such a respectful greeting. After all, Hinata was the Hokage's wife. The Anbu had seen Hinata's face at least once. They won't forget.

"Thank you. You did a good job." Hinata chattered for a bit.

"It is my duty." The Anbu bowed again.

Hinata entered the fifth floor of the academy library. After all, her status in Konoha was still an Elite Jounin. Despite having no official political position, no one would doubt Hinata's combat prowess.

The fifth floor was very quiet. Almost no sound could be heard. It was possible that someone was reading in the private reading booth, but Hinata wouldn't bother to find out.

Even though it's very quiet, all the printed media here had a special seal that glowed dimly. This seal had a function to protect the information in the media. To deactivate the seal, chakra authorization by Konoha's Elite Jounin individual was required.

If anyone forced themselves to break the seal, a self-destruct mechanism would be activated. Konoha's higher-ups have a principle, it's better to lose treasure than let thieves enjoyed it. Of course, when any of the seals was triggered, the Anbu on guard would be alerted.

Hinata immediately went down each shelf. The printed medias on the 5th floor were not as many as the floors below, but every piece of information contained was very advanced and comprehensive.

Hinata immediately chose an interesting title. This was a research thesis. 'Chakra Induction Experiment on Normal Humans to Generate Artificial Shinobi' was written by the Snake Immortal.

From the title, Hinata already had a lot of questions. She had quite an accumulated insight into why normal people couldn't become Shinobi.

Most of the Mainstream Clans in this world were descendants of Kaguya Otsusuki. With each passing generation, Kaguya's bloodline would get thinner. This caused Shinobi's talent to diminish.

However, no matter how thin the bloodline remained, chakra talent would still be awakened. Chakra talent refered to a human's ability to generate and control chakra in their bodies.

Normal humans simply couldn't generate chakra within their bodies, thus there was no way for them to train.

However, apart from Kaguya's descendants, most Shinobi outside the Fire Nation were actually descendants of normal humans who followed the teachings of Ninshu.

The teachings of Ninshu enabled humans to perceive the elements around them and generate powers based on those elements.

From this understanding, the normal human body would begin to develop its own chakra like Kaguya's offspring.

Unfortunately, the teachings of Ninshu came to a halt when the death of its founder, Hagoromo Otsusuki, occurred. Later generations who did not personally experience Hagoromo's Ninshu teachings could only rely on their ancestral bloodline to awaken chakra.

Those ancestors might be mighty characters, but they still couldn't possibly rival Kaguya Otsusuki. After all, Hagoromo was Kaguya's son. Although his level of strength had exceeded that of his mother, this level was impossible for his disciples of the Ninshu teachings to reach.

That's why, the Fire Nation, especially Konohagakure had Shinobi with stronger combat power than other nations.

In conclusion, they had different ancestral qualities.

Hinata thought, was this research about replicating the teachings of Ninshu at that time? Did the author who call himself the Snake Immortal already know the reason why the Ninshu teachings able to make normal humans generate chakra in the body?

Immediately, Hinata's hand released chakra. The seal that isolated the research thesis was opened. Hinata brought the book for her to read in a private cubicle.

After a while.

Hinata sighed. "Hah ... this research is not about replicating the teachings of Ninshu. This research was basically a trial process to stimulate the chakra talents of normal humans through various strange methods. The people who did this are simply inhumane. He treats humans like guinea pigs. Humph!""

Hinata was annoyed after reading the contents of the research. This Snake Immortal actually collected humans from various age samples.

Then, this Snake Immortal conducted various experiments that were considered unethical.

Some samples were required to eat chakra tonic. If a Shinobi ate a tonic like this, their chakra would generally spike in no time. It's just that, when tested on normal people, almost all of their blood vessels bursted and the sample was beyond salvation.

There were also samples that were combined with the organs of former shinobi. Initially, this sample managed to develop chakra to some extent. However, a few days later, the Shinobi's combined organs actually devoured the sample's vitality. He then became a dry corpse.

This Snake Immortal also tried a Fuinjutsu technique or seal technique to collect chakra and sealed it on the sample's body. For some reason, Fuinjutsu seemed to work. However, this success couldn't be called a breakthrough.

Human samples sealed with Fuinjutsu worked the same principle as seal scrolls. They were just media, not initiators.

In order to make the sample acted like a Shinobi, the Snake Immortal needed to seal the desired jutsu into the sample's body.

The principle was like disassembling pairs. The chakra seal would act as an energy supplier. Then, the jutsu seal would act as ammunitions. Whenever a chakra seal interacted with a jutsu seal, the jutsu would manifest according to its principle.

It's just that humans were not inanimate objects. Their bodies would have a hard time enduring seals with different functions.

Out of several test samples, there was only one that could withstand 4 different seals. Of the 4 seals, the jutsu used was the most basic jutsu that academy students usually learnt. If another seal was added or if the jutsu was strengthened, it would affect this person's brain function and make them like idiot.

If this research was only aimed at strengthening the military, this result was enough to bring Konoha to a new heights. However, basically such an artificial Shinobi wasn't even fit to fight the academy kids.

They might have equal jutsu power, but not with combat understanding. Although the understanding of combat could be trained, people who contained many seals had lower cognition abilities due to the burden of the seals themselves. Likely, they would spend 3-4 times training period to match an average tier Shinobi.

Therefore, after analyzing the cost-benefit of these results, it was concluded that these results were not feasible as a long-term method.

Hinata quickly put the book back down. Even though the information provided was not as expected and she also did not like it, there were still some visions that could be seen.

To find her own new path, of course it would take a lot of effort, time, and sufficient knowledge accumulation. Hinata was sure of her future goals.
