Chapter 4 - Alejandro and the Ghost

As Alejandro operated on his farm, he kept getting this dizzy sensation, and he kept snagging this glimpse of a running-aged man, the man kept running very fast. He had been beholding this vision for quite some time, he had explained to his wife how he often sees the face of an aged man, a man he had never seen in a real state, according to him, the man appeared to be rich. But his wife seems not to give birth to any explanation for it, he even elucidated to their parish priest, and the only explanation that the Reverend Father could provide to him was that maybe God has something he wants to show him through the man. The Father was not even certain with his words. But he was not even that devoted to the Church, it was his wife who was a devoted Christian, and she hardly missed a church service. Alejandro distrusted the saying that God will want to explain or reveal anything to him. However, that very day was unique, in his head, he had caught a glimpse of the old man running through the thicket, he looked very weird, he wasn't as graceful as he used to be in his earlier vision, and this time he looked frantic and lost.

The feeling only got scarier to Mr Alejandro when he finally acknowledged that it was no longer a vision, it was a reality, he pictured the man as he literally scampered into his farm, and he saw him sprinting toward their direction.

"Ahh! What is this? What is happening!" He screamed. He couldn't even speak fluent English language, his words were not clear. Furthermore, he ran to his wife and his daughter, yanked them up, took the kid from her and propelled her to run before him while he followed her.

"What is happening, my husband? Why are we running?" Mrs Cecilia who was so troubled asked her strangely behaving husband. But the young man could not even retort, he knew not what to say to her, all he could confide in her was that it was the same old man, and he asked her to run, Mrs Cecilia did just as her husband had declared, it was adequate to obey before any objection, especially after seeing her brave and savage husband that scared. As they ran, she kept stumbling, but he kept raising her, he made certain that she was before him, in front where he can see and be convinced that she was safe and with his girl in his arms. But they arrived at a spot, somewhere around a stream, they couldn't run across the stream, they will certainly fall, and the man might get to them. So, he had to stop, he bestowed his daughter to his wife and implored her to traverse and that he was behind them. The poor woman without any hesitation did just what her husband said with zero clue about what was transpiring. As his wife and daughter crossed the stream, the strange old man caught up with him, and just like the wind, it penetrated his skin and vanished.

"Ahh!!! My wife, he got me!!!" He blurted and dropped to the surface with his head into the stream. Mrs Cecilia saw how her husband fell, she could no longer run, she jogged back to her husband, nuzzled him, and strived to raise him, but he came across to be feeling frivolity she cried, she screamed, she thumped and struck him even nipped her teeth against his fingers, and she still got no response from him, it was only then that she came to the culmination that the worst had resulted.

"Hey, hey old man, What have you accomplished? What have you done to me?" She cried, she could not understand what was happening, but she understood that it was related to the vision that he had been seeing, the same vision of the old man.

After Cecilia had tried all she could without any help from anyone in the forest, she had to abandon her husband over there in the bush part and ran to the village to get the villagers to come to help her with her husband, it was not possible for a little woman like her to carry a hefty tall man like Alejandro and still carry her little daughter. So, he had to seek help from the people of the community

"Help. Help me, my husband is in the middle of the road along around the footprint stream." She cried as she gathered son passers-by, some interested people asked her what was wrong with her husband, but she responded by saying.

"I do not know, I don't know oo, he just fell by the streamside and refused to move, I don't even think that he is breathing, please help me." She cried, and many men, both youth and elderly, and a few ladies thronged after her as they ran to the place where he was supposed to be. When they got there, they saw him still, he was still where he was, and he had not moved a muscle. The villagers helped to carry him down to the village, the elderly ones had already concluded that he was dead, but no one communicated with his wife, they just took him and asked the few ladies to take care of her and her daughter.

Before they could even get to the village, the news had already reached them, they met a crowd of people waiting at the threshold of the community crying, they were already mourning Cecilia's husband, when she saw this, she ran to them and pleaded with them to keep quiet, she tried to let them know that it was only a piece of false news that she never told anyone that Alejandro was dead, that he only had a seizure and fell, that was all, but the people who believed that they knew more that she knew, went as far as consoling her, and that got her angry, she felt like the people were wishing her husband dead, so, she coursed on them even attempted to fight them. Of curse, she did, but no one seemed to have any interest in fighting her, all they did was show her even more sympathy, they behaved as if they understood how she felt, and some even went as far as saying to her. "We understand just how you feel". So, they said to her. But everything seemed like a joke to her, but it all began to become scary after a gang of windows came to her and dragged her out of the scene. She had to leave so that her husband will be dressed and prepared for burial. He was to be buried immediately since he was not a titleholder in the community, "a commoner", so he was referred to as.
