Chapter 30 - Taro and Jimaka's Story

As the gang closed the door behind them, a few of them walked out into the new dimension. It was a very dark place, as though it was always nighttime, with the only source of light being the doorway itself, and the floor. The floor was black, and looked like it was a galaxy, dotted with tiny glowing stars. It was beautiful. Baezel sat down and turned to Taro, with a serious look. "Alright, you two. I've told you my story, now it's time for you to tell us yours," he said.

"It's rather lengthy, I should say," Taro responded. "But if that's what you want, fine by us," Jimaka chimed in. Radichio, Parakress, Lemogras, Draft and Phoenix all sat down around Baezel, as Taro and Jimaka began to tell their story.

Taro and Jimaka's parents weren't part of the elite class, nor did they harbor any particular hatred towards King Vegeta or awareness of Freeza's impending annihilation. They were common Saiyans, living their lives on Planet Vegeta. The siblings were on a routine mission when the cataclysmic event unfolded.

"Our parents were typical Saiyans, focused on survival and fulfilling their duties," Taro began. "We were off-planet when it happened. Just two kids on a mission, clueless about the impending doom." His voice trembled slightly, memories of that day vivid in his mind.

"We got word of the planet's destruction from a report on our scouters," Jimaka added, his gaze distant. "But we were far enough to escape the immediate devastation. I think we were on a far-flung planet."

Baezel, Radichio, and Parakress listened intently, occasionally interjecting with questions. "How did you manage to survive out there without a home or a planet?" Radichio asked, curiosity tinged with concern. "Did you find a planet with people there, and they let them live with you?

"We scavenged for supplies and food, living off of the stuff we hunted, killed and cooked ourselves," Taro explained. "Survival instincts kicked in, and we learned to fend for ourselves. It wasn't that hard. The planet we were living on had quite a lot of wildlife."

"Our Saiyan nature helped. We adapted quickly, honed our skills, and grew stronger," Jimaka continued. "We explored neighboring planets, seeking refuge and opportunities to improve."

Baezel nodded thoughtfully. "I see. That had to have been rough, especially at such a young age. How old were you two, even?"

"We were about twelve years old. I was sixteen," Jimaka mentioned.

Taro gave a wry smile. "Rougher than you can imagine. But it made us who we are today."

Parakress, a little suspicious, spoke up. "Okay, so you survived the planet's destruction by living off of a separate world. I can buy that. What I want to know is how you became so powerful 40 years after the fact and we didn't notice you. You don't just cause a Super Saiyan, especially one as powerful as Baezel, to somewhat struggle overnight."

"That's a good question," Taro admitted, his expression turning serious. "There's something different about me, something I've never seen in any other Saiyan. I don't know what it is, but it's what allows me to grow stronger at an accelerated rate."

Baezel raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What do you mean by 'different'? Is it a special technique or some kind of hidden power?"

Taro shook his head. "I don't know the specifics. I just know that I'm different. I've always been able to push myself further than other Saiyans, and my power seems to grow with every challenge I face."

Jimaka nodded in agreement. "I've noticed it too. Taro's power is always increasing, even when he's not actively training. It's like he has an endless well of potential to draw from. And another thing that I've noticed is that sometimes, when he gets incredibly angry, he transforms into something strange. His hair spiked up and he became really buff."

Parakress leaned in closer, his curiosity piqued. Spiked-up hair and a larger musculature? That probably means he's talking about the bulkier Super Saiyan forms... "Tell me more about this difference. Have you ever tried to analyze it, to figure out what it is?"

Taro sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I've tried, but nothing comes to mind. It's like it's just a part of me, something that's always been there."

Baezel pondered Taro's words, his mind racing with possibilities. What could this difference be? Could it be a unique genetic mutation? A latent ability that had just begun to manifest? Or was it something entirely different, something that defied explanation?

"Well, whatever it is," Baezel said, breaking the silence, "it's clearly a powerful asset. And it's something that could be very beneficial to us all."

Taro nodded, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "I hope so. I've always wanted to use my power for good, to help others."

Jimaka smiled encouragingly. "And you will. We'll find a way to harness your unique abilities and use them to make a difference."

The group fell into a comfortable silence, each lost in their own thoughts. The mystery of Taro's power remained unsolved, but the promise it held ignited a spark of hope within them. They knew that with Taro's strength and their combined determination, they could achieve great things.

"So...can you just summarize your backstory, please? You didn't elaborate very much," Phoenix commented.

"Alright, we'll go over the important parts quickly," Taro said. "We went across multiple planets, slowly building up our strength, and at some point, we faced Freeza."

"Oh, really? Did you win?!" Lemogras said, excited.

"Hell yeah, he did! It was because he used that weird power we were talking about before," Jimaka explained. "It looked kind of easy, actually."

"Now I'm intrigued. Come on, Taro! Show me the power you used to face Freeza!" Parakress shouted, smirking.

"I - I can't, I'd lose control and destroy everything!" Taro stuttered, trying to dissuade him from getting him to transform. But it was clear to him that he wasn't getting out of this one easily. Parakress wanted to see his power, so that's what he'd get. The other Grand Battlers were giving Taro a Just do it kind of look, just to satisfy Parakress' suspicions. A vein popped up in Taro's forehead, as he went into a charging pose. Green electricity began to generate around his body, as his hair spiked up and his body started to bulk up. He transformed into a Super Saiyan, seemingly automatically. But this didn't feel like any of the grade forms. It didn't feel like a mere Super Saiyan 2. No, this was something different.

A chilling silence descended upon the battlefield as Parakress's smirk slowly morphed into a look of disbelief, his eyes widening in horror as Taro's power continued to surge. The air crackled with raw energy, the very fabric of reality seeming to strain under the weight of this immense transformation.

Taro's body began to emit a blinding green aura, enveloping him entirely. The room around him dissolved into a swirling vortex of verdant light, as if he were being consumed by the very essence of nature itself. When the light finally subsided, Taro stood there, his form completely transfigured. His once brown skin was now a sun-kissed tan, his eyes glowing with an otherworldly white light. His hair, once as black as the other Saiyans, had transformed into a vibrant lime green, cascading down his back like a waterfall of emerald flames. Taro let out a deep, resonant sigh, the sound echoing through the room like a thunderclap. His gaze fell upon Parakress, who stood there frozen in terror, his eyes wide with disbelief. Taro's transformation was not just into a Super Saiyan; it was something far more profound, far more primal. This was the power of the Legendary Super Saiyan, a power that had been whispered about in ancient legends, a power that could shake the very foundations of the universe.

A surge of excitement coursed through Parakress's veins. Now, finally, he could test the true limits of this legendary power, pitting his own Super Saiyan transformation against Taro's in an epic clash of wills.

He landed a gut punch on the Legendary Super Saiyan, and landed a high kick on his chin. While he was midair, he jabbed Taro on the cheek and landed another on the opposite one. He barraged his face with punches, which annoyed Taro enough that he grabbed Parakress' head and bashed it in. While holding him from the hair, he shoved his face into his knee, shattering Parakress' nose and causing blood to gush out. He then slapped Parakress repeatedly with his fist, alternating between the side of his fist and his knuckles. To end it, he slapped Parakress away, causing him to fall on his knees and wipe his nose. He held his forehead in pain; that headbutt gave him a raging pain in his forehead

Parakress, fueled by his initial advantage, pressed relentlessly, his fists a blur of motion. Taro, though initially startled by the Super Saiyan's raw power, quickly adapted, his movements becoming more fluid and precise. He began to deflect Parakress's attacks with increasing ease, his own strikes finding their mark with greater frequency. Parakress, sensing the shift in momentum, unleashed a barrage of yellow ki beams, each one a miniature sun threatening to engulf Taro. But the Legendary Super Saiyan, his eyes glowing with an otherworldly light, merely created a barrier to absorb the blasts, and quickly expanded and destroyed it to scatter the ki beams. Parakress tanked a few of his own attacks, and saw that Taro's aura was growing brighter, and his strength was increasing as well.

With a roar of defiance, Taro unleashed a large green beam from his own hand, a beam of pure emerald light that dissipated the wind created by the fight, creating a dazzling spectacle of light and sound. The very ground shook beneath their feet as the two forces clashed, neither side willing to yield. Parakress fired a quick Galick Cannon in an attempt to clash with it. It seemed that Parakress could actually win a fight for once, it seemed like he had this in the bag! He pumped more and more of his ki into the Galick Cannon, and Taro was slowly losing ground because of it. As though Taro suddenly got newfound motivation, he pulled from his seemingly endless well of ki and increased the force of his beam, quickly pushing back against Parakress' and regaining the upper hand.

Taro's ki beam surged forward, overpowering Parakress's and forcing the regular Super Saiyan to hold it with his two hands. It was actively pushing him back, however, and Parakress realized that holding back just wasn't viable anymore. He had to temporarily transform into a Super Saiyan 2 to create a new ki beam, starting up the beam clash once again. Taro didn't care, as he increased the size of his own attack once again. This move was enough to overwhelm Parakress and send him flying backward, with no chance to retaliate. He skidded on the ground, his body momentarily stunned and his clothing scuffed up and torn.

Taro seized the opportunity, his eyes blazing with determination. With speed that seemed damn near impossible to pull off for someone of Taro's height and musculature, he quickly ran at Parakress with thundering footsteps. Taro almost immediately closed the distance between them, his fist poised to strike. Parakress, still reeling from the impact of his fall, could only watch in horror as Taro's fist descended upon him. But just as Taro's fist was about to make contact, Parakress dug deep within himself, summoning the last vestiges of his strength. With a grunt, he managed to block Taro's attack, their fists colliding in a deafening crash. A yellow light shined from the impact of their fist clash. When it faded, Jimaka was blown away that Taro would force Parakress to use his full power. His bang was slightly extended and his hair was now waist-length. His eyebrows were gone and his eyes were blue. Taro had actually forced Parakress to use Super Saiyan 3.

Taro grunted in confusion, and tried to punch Parakress, but he caught his fist. He tried punching him multiple times, but every single time, his fist was caught. Parakress, with a fierce expression, uttered, "You're done here." With a look of worry, Parakress seemed as though he vanished from Taro's sight. Upon looking down, he felt a ripping pain in his gut. It was Parakress' fist embedded in his stomach. The Saiyan removed it, his fist now indented there. Taro took a few steps back, while Parakress moved so fast that it looked like teleportation, and neck-chopped Taro. The Legendary Super Saiyan fell unconscious, as his aura disappeared and his muscles deflated, and his hair flopped back down, returning to its original color.

Baezel was utterly dumbfounded. "What the hell was THAT?!" he shouted. "He went from not even challenging a Super Saiyan to needing a Super Saiyan 3 to fight! He grew nearly ten times stronger, just by fighting Parakress..."

Phoenix, speaking up, said, "Look, I'm just as shocked as you guys are, but my personal theory is that it wasn't just fighting Parakress that allowed Taro to grow so quickly. It was the fact that Parakress was fighting Taro, and he consistently had the upper hand. So Taro was always on the backfoot when they fought."

"If this isn't proof that we're valuable assets to you guys' battle against that Pepkorn guy, I don't know what is," Jimaka said. "I might not be nearly as powerful as Taro is, but don't view me as though I'm completely useless. Just by sensing your ki, I could probably fight...you, what's your name?" he asked, pointing to Lemogras.

"Me? I'm Lemogras."

"I could probably defeat you in a fight. What do you say we throw hands, eh? You and me!" Jimaka said, preparing to battle.

Going into his battle stance, Lemogras said to him, "I'd be honored. I hope you can give me a worthy fight! Don't hold anything back!"
