Chapter 35 - Saviors of Earth, Baezel and Radichio

The recently deceased Grand Battlers and allies - Draft, Parakress, Taro, Jimaka, Lemogras, Phoenix, Dana and Okara - had managed to make it to the Kaioshin's planet to watch the battle on Earth. The old Kaioshin wasn't that happy about having eight mortals on his planet for the sole purpose of being spectators, but he understood that they'd at least want to see what was happening down on Earth. The battle was still in Baezel and Radichio's favor, as they were beating Pepkorn down with relative ease, with the fight's difficulty slowly going down due to Pepkorn constantly aging 1 month per second. Pepkorn had already whittled down his life by 4 years at this point. He could barely fight back. "I can't believe this...to think he could get such an intense power-up, only to be on the losing side of the battle," Draft said. Phoenix pushed Draft aside to get a better look at it from the crystal ball. She saw that Baezel and Radichio looked like...blue-haired Super Saiyans. Turning to the old Kaioshin, she asked, "Hey, so, Baezel and Radichio have blue hair. What's that all about?"

"I'll try to explain it. When you died, and Radichio held you in his arms, he experienced so much fury and sorrow that it manifested as that. Like that, uh, Super Saiyan thing. He snapped, and it's like he went Super Saiyan on top of that form. And as for Baezel, he did the same thing. You died, then Draft died, and Pepkorn pushed him over the edge by admitting that he killed Baezel's wife and kid. In other words, Radichio transformed from losing the person that he loved, and Baezel transformed from being pushed over the edge and seeing his friends start dropping like flies," the old deity explained. Phoenix was surprised, and blushed. "To think that Radichio cared that much about me..." she said, in a tone of voice that indicated that she was honored to be loved like that. "N - never mind that! Surely we can go down there and help them out, right?! I got embarrassed by Pepkorn when I died! He took my attack and did a Taekwondo kick to send it my way and kill me!" Draft began to speak up as well. "I want to go back to Earth as well! I used the last of my ki to try and stop him and died for nothing!"

"Someone's new to the afterlife, eh?" Dana said to the Grand Battlers. "We've all died before, but I think I should be the first to warn you guys before you try to get your payback - if you die again while dead, you cease to exist. No Dragon Balls can revive you. If I were y'all and had enough strength to be on your level, I'd think twice about going back." The Old Kaioshin corroborated Dana's statement, saying, "It's true. You can go ask Uranai Baba for a 24-hour pass to return to Earth, but honestly, I wouldn't go down to that warzone."

"Oh, come on, Mom! You think we should just sit around and wait for the battle to be resolved so that we could get revived?" Okara said to Dana. "Hell no! We owe it to him and Radichio, and everyone else who died because of Pepkorn, to go down there and help defeat him! It's only fair!"

"You've got your father's determination, girl, but think about this for a second," Parakress butted in. "Pepkorn just killed us all in his lower forms with relative ease. Now that he's at full power, there's not a single damn thing we can do against him. We'd be throwing ourselves into an incinerator for nothing." Parakress sighed, and sat down with his arms crossed. There really wasn't anything they could do. And trying to directly intervene would be suicide. It was quite the Catch 22.

Cutting back to Earth, Baezel and Radichio had just knocked Pepkorn into a building. Pepkorn unleashed his aura, obliterating the building into nothing. It seemed as though it took more effort than it should have, as Pepkorn was heavily breathing. He had aged a total of 19 and a half years during the battle so far. Physically, there were no signs of old age, as that would only happen by the time he was 80. "You're starting to get sloppy, Pepkorn," Baezel mocked. "How 'bout you come down here so you don't bore me to death?" Irritated by this perceived insolence, Pepkorn did as asked and dashed towards Baezel, giving him a powerful punch to the cheek. He grinned, seeing as though a bit of blood was flowing from out the side of his mouth. Pepkorn punched Baezel left and right in the face, but it didn't seem to be doing anything. Baezel didn't move an inch. He caught Pepkorn's wrist, saying, "This is getting boring as hell. You're getting weaker by the damn second. And if you managed to learn and gain full proficiency in all of our techniques, can't you use the Kaioken or something to make this more fun?"

Unhanding himself from Baezel's grasp, he rubbed his wrist and pain and turned around. "You're right. I haven't been using my - by which I mean you guys' - abilities to their full extent. Prepare yourselves!" He clasped his fists together and went into a power-up pose. His muscles slowly bulged out, as a vein appeared on his forehead and steam began to release from his pores. May my body withstand this, he thought to himself.

"KAIO-KEN!"

The crimson aura of the Kaioken engulfed Pepkorn's body, with the Saiyan crying out in pain. It turned out that stacking the Kaioken onto his Supervillain Form was possible, but it would hurt his body in the long run. The higher the multiplier, the faster he would die. He was using a standard x2, and was now aging at 2 months per second. "He actually did it?!" Baezel shouted out in shock, before he was met with one of the hardest gut checks he had ever gotten. His eyes temporarily blanked out from shock, as Pepkorn followed up with a punch to the face that knocked him away. Radichio wasted no time in turning his aura on and rushing towards Pepkorn to hit him, but for the first time since Baezel and Radichio transformed, Pepkorn managed to block it. This was bad, real bad. But it could potentially work out in their favor, so long as they played it smart and tried to outlive Pepkorn, which would be much faster now. "Now to ramp it up a notch! KAIO-KEN...TIMES 3!" The pain was horrible now, as he was holding his biceps in his hand. It felt like burning pain throughout his entire body.

Baezel saw this pain as an opportunity to capitalize on Pepkorn being off-guard, and decided to break out an old technique of his. "TAIYOKEN!" he shouted, as a bright white light shone from his hands. Pepkorn was successfully blinded, which allowed Baezel and Radichio to leap up into the sky and prepare for a duo attack. Putting their hands together, they charged up a large light blue ki sphere in front of them. When Pepkorn's vision was starting to come back, the duo shouted, "Big Bang Implosion!" firing off the sphere at Pepkorn. The blast shot down from the skies, and by the time Pepkorn saw it, his vision was back. He tried to punch it, but that was exactly what they wanted him to do. It shrunk down to the size of a marble, confusing him for a second, before immediately becoming giant, exploding on impact. Baezel and Radichio chuckled, high-fiving each other, while Pepkorn was on the ground, face and body singed.

Getting up, with bones audibly creaking in his body, Pepkorn held his left arm. This was tiring him out. Baezel and Radichio were losing stamina, yes, but he was likely going to die in this fight before them. What could he do? With seemingly few options left, he figured that he might as well risk it all and try to finish them off with the highest possible Kaioken multiplier he could muster. He charged his ki, his strength slowly increasing to combat against the decrease of his lifespan. Pepkorn ferociously yelled, in a strained voice, "KAIO-KEN TIMES 20!!" the crimson aura overlayed on his Supervillain one growing bigger and brighter. Baezel stared on in shock. He knew Pepkorn was getting desperate, but to use a Kaioken x20 on top of his full power?! Was he suicidal? With speed that was too fast for Baezel and Radichio to register, Pepkorn dashed up to them and punched Baezel square in the cheek, continuing with a barrage of heavy punches that were doing serious damage to him. Baezel couldn't fight back at all, and his armor was getting obliterated in the process. Radichio rushed in to try and help, but was backhanded into a sewer grate, causing him to land in sewer water underground. As Pepkorn was about to throw one last punch to Baezel's nose, he suddenly became far weaker than before, his punch feeling like a tap on Baezel's nose. The red aura of the Kaioken was gone, and Pepkorn fell to the ground in the fetal position, holding his body in pain. His muscles deflated back to their original size, with red electricity dancing around his body. Pepkorn's entire body hurt, and it caused pain to try and move. Thanks to that maneuver, he had now aged a total of over 32 years so far. This fight was going horribly! How could he have lost his advantage like this?!

On the Kaioshin's planet, the Grand Battlers were eating this fight up. They especially rejoiced when Pepkorn dropped out of the Kaioken. Draft got a closer look at him, and saw that Pepkorn's hair was beginning to fall out a bit. He nudged Parakress, asking, "How old is Pepkorn now?" Looking at Pepkorn's body and sensing his deteriorating ki, Parakress estimated, "Shit, with the way he's at now? He's definitely nearing 80 years old."

"EIGHTY?!" everyone shouted. "Yeah, don't you know? When we Saiyans reach the age of eighty years old, we're out of our prime and start to age quickly. If Pepkorn doesn't manage to pull out a miracle and kill Baezel and Radichio ASAP, he's done for," he said. "N - not that I want him to, just explaining stuff..."

Returning to Earth, Baezel descended down to Pepkorn's level. Radichio fired a blue ki blast out from the sewers, causing the grate to fly upwards and allowing him to get out. Pepkorn's body was standing up, but was shaking as though he was old. And he was - he was 78 years old at this point. He was basically forcing his body to keep going at this point. Pepkorn burst dashed towards Baezel to try and punch him, but Baezel dodged it and kicked him away, shoving him into the ground. He put two fingers together, and placed them on his forehead. Purple electricity danced around his fingers, as he began to charge up his ki for a Makankosappo. Pepkorn looked up, seeing that Baezel was about to use a technique that, as far as he knew, he didn't actually know for himself. He weakly stood up, his hair beginning to fall out, only to be met with Baezel's very own Makankosappo. The thin orange beam with a blue coil shot out from Baezel's fingers, with him barely being able to tank it. The beam drilled straight through his chest, leaving the Saiyan with a bleeding hole in his chest. Despite all of that, he was STILL very much alive, even if he had definitely seen better days. "I didn't know you could do that!" Radichio complimented him. "Well, of course I can. You can probably do it too, since we all taught each other our techniques when we were in the Void Chamber," Baezel replied.

Pepkorn held his chest in pain, and looked at his hands. Drenched in his own blood...it was disgusting to him. His eyes twitched with pent-up anger, as he clenched his fists to the point that his nails were digging into his skin and bleeding. A vein of rage appeared on his forehead, as his eyes seemed to become bloodshot out of pure anger. "How dare you...spill my own blood!" he angrily grunted, his voice losing its power and starting to sound more like an old man. Pepkorn gritted his teeth to the point where slight cracks were showing, with his ki causing a soft rumble throughout the entire planet. After such an injustice in his eyes, Pepkorn's sanity was shattered into microscopic pieces. He had officially lost it. "Baezel and Radichio...! I...I...I'M GONNA KILL YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUU!!!!" Pepkorn shouted out, with an ear-splitting scream. His aura burst from his body as a pillar of ki, shooting into the heavens and swirling around in the sky. Within mere seconds, the whole planet looked as though it was covered entirely with his aura, appearing as black and white with red bolts of lightning. The sky was darker now, and it felt like the world could collapse at any moment.

"Holy shit, can you feel that?!" Radichio shouted, having to block due to the amount of wind Pepkorn charging up was producing. "His ki...it's absolutely filled to the brim with rage and hatred! I've never sensed a ki signature like it!" Baezel responded. "The entire planet is liable to be destroyed if he keeps this up!" Pepkorn cackled with insane laughter, as he dashed towards Radichio and tried to fight him. Radichio followed suit, battling Pepkorn to buy time for Baezel to do something. It wasn't that hard either, given that Pepkorn was so weak. He was mostly just dodging and blocking. As Baezel saw Radichio "fight" Pepkorn, if you could even call it that, he tried to figure out how to end this once and for all. He needed an attack that Pepkorn couldn't dodge, one that would be able to put him down for good. An attack comprised of purely positive ki to balance out his overwhelmingly negative one...of course!

Baezel went down into his base form, backflipped twice to gain distance, and raised his hands into the sky. He was going to perform an attack that he had only tried once before against Baezel Yami, and it failed then. But he was confident that it wouldn't let him down now. He was going to perform the Genkidama once again. Telepathically, he shouted out, "Everyone, in this world and Other World, listen to me! I've been battling Pepkorn with Radichio here, and Pepkorn's liable to destroy the entire universe if he isn't put down! I need you all to raise your hands to the sky, and lend me your strength!"

"That's Dad's voice, Mom!" Okara shouted out on the Kaioshin's planet. Lemogras chuckled. "Indeed it is...alright, Dad! Take my genki!" The Grand Battlers raised their hands to the sky, their genki appearing as blue spheres of energy leaving the Kaioshin's planet, and traveling billions of miles to reach Earth, forming as a Genkidama. Baezel shed a single tear as he charged it up, his heart warmed by the contribution of his allies and getting to hear his little girl's voice again. Phoenix lent the largest amount of it by far, thanks to her being the strongest person in the afterlife. Genki was pouring in from all over the Other World and Namek, with the remaining 10 million people on Earth lending their genki as well. The Genkidama fizzled into life, growing in size with the more genki that was poured into it. Pepkorn, as he was battling Radichio, could feel himself getting even weaker than before. Then he looked at his hands. There was a thin blue outline around it, which could only mean one thing. Baezel was directly siphoning his genki to form his Genkidama, making the now-90 year old weaker than ever. Pepkorn was very visibly old and wrinkly, and thinner than before.

Baezel kept on draining Pepkorn's genki, making his attack larger and more powerful. He drained enough to the point where Pepkorn was hacking and coughing, barely able to continue living. At this point, Pepkorn was a mere husk of his original self. However, Baezel still felt that the Genkidama wasn't strong enough. "Radichio, I need you to lend me as much genki as you can so I can finish this thing!" Baezel shouted. He nodded, raising his hand to the sky and lending a massive amount of genki, so much so that he had to go back down into Super Saiyan God to cut down on the ki drain. The Genkidama was now over 300 feet wide, and was quite heavy for Baezel to hold over his head. He levitated into the sky, in order to get a better view of Pepkorn. Pepkorn, struggling to stay alive, weakly looked up at the sky to see the Genkidama in the sky, the large blue ki sphere of death. His eyes widened in fear, as Baezel stared down at Pepkorn like a god.

"BAEZEL!" Draft, Dana, Radichio, Parakress, Taro, Jimaka and Phoenix yelled.

"FATHER!" Lemogras shouted.

"DAD!" Okara screamed.

"FINISH HIIIIIIIIM!!" they all shouted at Baezel.

"Alright, guys...Pepkorn!" Baezel said, preparing to throw the Genkidama. "I've grown tired of looking at your face. You're a cancerous tumor on this universe that needs to die. Now then...!!!" He hurled the Genkidama at Pepkorn, and with the remaining strength he had within him, he tried to push it back with his bare hands. But his hands were burning up simply by holding it. Even so, he was still far stronger in his base than Baezel was, so he was able to just hold it, but not push it back. "This...can't be how it ends!" Pepkorn shouted. "I became stronger than you! I WAS SUPPOSED TO KILL YOU!"

"I don't care. Now BURN IN HEEEEEEEEELLLLLL!!!" Baezel screamed, going full power and transforming into a Super Saiyan Blue once again. The Genkidama far surpassed Pepkorn's strength, which caused his arms to fully give out. He sunk into the Genkidama and began to burn up and break apart, as the ki sphere moved across the ground and shot into the sky, exploding and clearing out the darkness that surrounded the planet. After so many years of torment, after a battle where so many died, Pepkorn...was finally dead. Baezel's hands trembled with exhaustion, as he panted heavily and detransformed from Super Saiyan Blue. He fell to his knees, laughing and crying tears of joy. For the first time in decades, he loudly cried. "It's over...I've avenged everyone."

"He did it," Parakress said in awe of what Baezel just completed. "HE ACTUALLY DID IT!" Okara shouted out, jumping with joy. She ran up to Dana and gave her a massive hug, while everybody else cheered and clapped. Okara and Dana were dancing in joy together, while Parakress and Taro expressed their joy through clapping. Phoenix was about to start clapping as well, but she then sensed something. Pepkorn's soul was now in Other World, and was in Hell again. A devious smile formed on her face. She didn't care anymore. It didn't matter to her that Pepkorn was already dead. All that mattered to her was the fact that she would get to be the one to put down one of the most evil people in history. She almost instantly used Teleportation to immediately appear before Pepkorn, with one hand out. With a menacing grin never before seen on Phoenix's face, she took a few steps backwards. Pepkorn immediately stood up, going into a fighting pose.

"I'm already dead, what more do you want from me? Haven't I suffered enough?" he asked. "I find it funny that you think you can tell anyone that. And the answer is no," Phoenix replied, as she prepared to charge a large sphere of pure flames in her hand. "You're the first person in my life to completely embarrass me in a fight. For your raw power, you have my gratitude. But there's absolutely no way I can allow you to ever return to life again. Which is why you need to die here." She then compressed it into a small blast, the size of a single piece of glitter, and threw it at Pepkorn. Due to its small size, it went directly inside of Pepkorn. The old fighter laughed. "Are you kidding me? A blast as tiny as th - " was all he could say, before Phoenix opened her fist, rapidly expanding the ki sphere and burning Pepkorn's entire body into a crisp. Now he was permanently dead. His soul no longer existed; no Dragon Balls could revive him. It was truly over now. She then teleported back to the Grand Battlers on the Kaioshin's planet, which now had Baezel and Radichio hanging out there and getting healed by Shin.

Radichio stood up, running up to Phoenix and giving her a tight hug. Both of them laughed and cried together, while jumping with joy that Pepkorn has been defeated. Phoenix leaned in to whisper in his ear, "By the way, I know about your little secret." Radichio's entire face turned crimson red out of embarrassment, as he wryly laughed at himself. "It looks like I've been caught red-handed...er, red-haired, eh?" he jokingly said, as his fellow Grand Battlers laughed with him. The day was wild, with all sorts of twists and turns. They came to Earth with the mindset that they were ready to fight, and Baezel led the charge. An 8v1 ensued, which they lost badly, 2 of them directly losing their lives. Then Baezel and Radichio transformed into Super Saiyan Blue and regained the advantage, even when Pepkorn used his full power. The Earth was extremely close to straight-up being destroyed - its human population definitely was - but throughout the perilous fight, and the teamwork of his allies, Baezel managed to defeat Pepkorn for good. He would forever remember this day as his own Victory Day. The day that Pepkorn no longer had any hold over his life, dead or alive. The day that he was, for the first time in a long time...free.
