Chapter 7 - A bait for his little fish

The uneasiness feeling of being followed all the way home creeped Fahsai. She hid from a man in black but got thwarted by a garden snake.

"There's a snake!" She screeched and ran towards the street. A man caught her before she could sprawl and hit the ground. It turned out to be Chanming and Fahsai recognized him immediately but couldn't put a finger in where she had seen the mysterious man. He gathered her in his arms and said, "I'll walk you home."

She broke free but a car filled with gang Suer Khao men appeared and she knew it was trouble.

"Apologize for scaring her or perhaps for doing anything untoward her in the past!" The seemingly nice Chanming ordered his right hand man. Fahsai wanted to get away from the scary men and so she apologized instead.

"I forgive you." She muttered humbly but Chanmimg stopped her to give her the missing purse.

"I'm sorry if I tried to pry on your private life. I didn't mean to go through your journal." He apologized wanting to get to know her even more. Fahsai took her purse and rushed out of sight.

She perused through her journal to ensure it was in normal condition, and noted the last page with a drawing of two men in a noose.

"This is not creepy at all." She gasped.

"That little fish has taken over Botan's place in Daniel's heart." Chanming told his right hand man. "I could tell during our gunfire exchange at the pier. I want to use her to punish him and atone for all the people I loved and who died in the hands of that jerk!" Chanmimg fumed remembering Alin, his brother's lover, who had recently died.

"Can you handle it? I dare you would withhold your own heart from allowing her to take over Botan's place as well." His right hand man, Tiang Kong wondered.

"No one, absolutely no one would take Botan's place in my heart!" He spat. He had been following Fahsai for a few days at that time to figure out what bait he'd use in order to lure his little fish.

"I like someone who follows rules to the letter." He tossed a wad of cash to cover the cost of the arson work. The person they had hired was a scary dude who pulled a Mike Tyson move by biting his opponent's ear in order to win at all cost. He took cash from Tiang Kong, Chanmimg's right hand man.

"I want you to know that I don't like to do things half-assed, people better die in the next job, I only accepted this job because we're friends." The dude conceded.

"The boss, Chanming will be in Thailand for a while this time round and will have plenty of work for you to do, which of course will turn you into a big deal. Not just an average gangster." Tiang Kong stated.

Back in Hong Kong, Boss Daniel's right hand man paced up and down.

"We have got a word that Chanming is in Thailand. He's after Fahsai because he's intending to use her for something." His right hand man speculated especially now that the Boss and Fahsai had ignited inflammable fire. Chanming must have known that the two spent time together in Japan and that Daniel might have come to care for her.

"Sounds lame to me." Daniel looked away and denied it.

"The kiss while holding a gun speaks for itself." The right hand man called him out in his bluff. "Would you be okay to allow Chanming to spend time with Fahsai, what if he does something to her?" He questioned and that gave Daniel a pause.

Chanming had some game. He knew where to start the courting process, right at her parents' front door.

"I'm just in the neighborhood because a friend lives in this area." He told Fahsai's parents. Fahsai spied that and knew he was looking for her and so she dashed out.

"Baby, this is..." Her parents tried to introduce her to the new man. Fahsai went out and when he followed her, she took out her journal.

"Why did you draw men in nooses in my journal? Do you have an answer to that?" She questioned him.

"You'll understand everything the very moment you decide to work for me. Here's my business card." He clarified. "Also I'd like to invite you to draw for my older brother, you know, in hope that his condition would improve. I'm willing to pay a large salary." He whispered as Dr. Eit drove by.

"A ride perhaps?" He offered and she opted to jump in the car to get away from the strange man.

"You should be more careful with the people you don't know. Why the heck would you allow him hold your hand?" Dr. Eit warned her.

"Drop me off at the next road." She gave him a side eye, as if that was supposed to be any concern to him.

"I didn't tend to cheat on you, I just found the right woman in Dr. Kwan. I hope you're no longer mad at me." He explained.

"Falling in love with someone is not wrong, what's wrong is that you never told me, which makes me a fool who believed we were in love." She said.

"I hope one day you'll find out on your own about Dr. Kwan and I." He admitted.

"What a man." She muttered under her breath. She gave him a smile. "I'm no longer mad, really." She assured him. "Thanks for letting me experience something new in Japan."

"Can we be brother and sister like before?" He asked of her. But as their car crossed paths with Dr. Kwan's car, things were bound to remain strayed forever.
