I was able to see that my manoeuvre had deprived him of his ability to breathe, and I noticed that his remaining health points were less than half of what they had been before.
There was a dull thud as he hit the floor back first. I made the decision to put a stop to this situation as soon as I could, so I stood up and kicked him in the face as forcefully as I could.
I heard a loud impact as the back of his head collided with the pavement, and I saw him go limp.
I observed that he was unconscious and that his HP was less than fifteen percent. Also, his HP was lower than fifteen percent.
I finally released go of his arm and shifted my attention to the lieutenant who was trembling with fear. "Get rid of him and go your separate ways. If I ever find out that you and your friends have been causing problems, I will personally go looking for you and get rid of you "I tried to sound sinister while maintaining a neutral tone of voice and an expressionless face, and I stated it. When trying to frighten someone through the use of terror, one of the most effective strategies was to portray oneself as a soulless machine.
[Quest Complete!]
The lieutenant thug gave a trembling nod of his head and, despite the significant size disparity between them, was able to pick up his defeated boss with some difficulty before running away as quickly as he could.
I maintained the front until he was no longer in view, and it's no coincidence that shortly after that event, pedestrian traffic resumed normal flow across the street.
I made the conscious decision not to give that a great deal of thought, but instead I turned my attention to Mina and Miko. It did not come as a surprise to me to see them gazing at me in wonder while blushing.
I moved closer to them, put my hands in my pockets, and looked in the direction of the two assailants who were quickly moving away from us. I did this as I approached them.
I remarked in an almost upbeat tone while allowing a grin to form on my face, "I hope that teaches them not to mess with Kuoh Academy students," and I smiled as I said it. I turned off the Reinforcement feature but left the Observe one active. It was time to keep grinding now that the break had been over.
It would appear like Miko is at a loss for words, but Mina has managed to pull herself together and gives me a smirk while maintaining her red face expression.
"That was, without a doubt, one of the badassest things I have ever come across in my life. I don't know about Miko's situation, but in my opinion, you have more than made amends for your wrongdoing, "She stated it with a smirk that was becoming increasingly seductive as her voice lowered slightly.
Miko had regained her composure, and despite the fact that she was still flushing, it seemed as though she was thinking clearly now... for the most part. "Yeah. Completely and utterly saved. Yes. Uh-huh, "She whispered something while avoiding making eye contact with me, but I could tell she was looking at me.
It made me chuckle. "I appreciate it." After that, I pretended to stare up at the sun and then put on an expression that suggested I was a little bit dissatisfied.
"I'm sorry, ladies, but I have to go right now to go to the dojo. When I am late, Master is irritated, and my typical punishment is a battle with him; however, he has no self-control, so I always end up getting hurt "I managed to speak in a frightened tone and even give an impression of shivering. Yep. I have a lot of potential as an actress.
[Lie Successful!]
Although they were disheartened, I managed to keep a smile on my face. "He will, however, understand if I arrived late because I was using the skills he taught me to defend two beautiful girls and then I decided to escort them home to make sure they arrived safely," I said. "I was using the skills he taught me to defend two beautiful girls and then I decided to escort them home."
As we started to make our way towards their homes, they gave me a shy smile while they were still blushing, and I gave them one back.
On the other hand, my smug expression of victory on the inside would have delighted Sousuke Aizen.
-------
After I had dropped Mina and Miko off at their respective homes, I stepped into a back alley with a smug grin on my face. I did this after I had completed my mission.
Both of the young ladies showed their appreciation by giving me a peck on each cheek and asking me to guarantee that in the future we will get together for hangouts more frequently.
It was evident that they were both attracted to me, and if I noticed it, then you can bet your bottom dollar that they noticed each other's attraction to me; yet, they did not make a big deal out of it.
Which meant good news... at least for the time being.
Anyway, it was time for me to grind, so I used ID: Create and ID: Escape two times each to level them up while keeping my smirk active.
I had already used them twice, and each time I used them, they increased in level by twenty-five percent. This meant that in order to get the Zombie ID, which was the lowest ID that could be created, I needed to use them just two more times before I could level them up.
[ID: The value of Create has increased by 1!]
[ID: Escape's level has advanced by 1!]
After I finished doing that, I checked the time and discovered that it was already five o'clock in the afternoon.
Although I may have "wasted" some time with Mina and Miko, in my opinion it was time well spent because I now had two girls with whom I was certain that I would end up having sex within the next two days, in addition to another girl with whom I was more than certain that I would end up having sex within the next two days.
And if I was going to waste time in that manner, I was going to make it a point to do it more frequently.
Moving on to more serious considerations, I gave some thought to the zombie identification. In my current state, I was confident in my ability to defeat both regular zombies and Legion Zombies. This accomplishment, should I be successful in achieving it, would grant me a significant number of levels very early on in the game.
But I had to show a high level of intelligence in order to succeed, which was not hard for me to do considering that both my intelligence and my wisdom scores were well above the norm for a human of my age.
Normal zombies were very slow, and with my DP of Iron Skin, they posed no danger to me in any case. Therefore, I didn't really have any reason to be concerned about them.
However, I needed to proceed with greater caution when dealing with the Legion Zombie because, despite being slower owing to its size, it was extraordinarily powerful for a boss that was essentially on the First Level.
I reasoned that the optimal strategy would be to engage the regular zombies in close combat while simultaneously engaging the Legion Zombie in a combination of close combat and long range warfare.
I was conscious of the fact that I was wasting time, and I gave a small shake of my head. It was too soon for me to have any uncertainties. I couldn't avoid doing this.
I knew that, logically speaking, I was more than prepared to face the Zombie ID, but I was also aware of the fact that plans rarely survive contact with the enemy, and that particular fact was driving me absolutely insane. I knew that I was more than ready to face the Zombie ID.
When I suddenly felt an uncanny peace and raised my hand to the sky, Gamer's Mind revealed itself to be the indispensable tool that it is.
"Let's put an end to this right now. Create an ID for Zombies," I grumbled in anger, not because I was so deluded as to believe that I had completed this task in its entirety, but rather because I was annoyed at Gamer's Mind. It was almost like someone else was making the choice for me.
[Sign of bloodlust uncovered!]
I watched as the colours of the world began to fade into darker tones as the sky turned a deep crimson colour. At the same time, the sounds of the city that would normally blend into the background were gone, and everything became eerily silent.
It wasn't even a second later that I started to hear the low groans and savage snarls of undead looking to feast on the living. I sighed again as Gamer's Mind shattered the primal fear that those sounds evoked on me, and I went into auto-pilot mode as a result.
Reinforcement was the first thing I used, and because it was active at the same time as Observe, I had twenty MP left over that I could use without my total MP count decreasing at a consistent rate.
After that, I crafted a Daedric Sword to wear on my right arm, which freed up enough MP for me to perform Flash Step without having to worry about running out.
My left hand was free to employ the Mana Blast ability in the event that any zombies got too close to me. Despite the fact that it cost sixteen MP, I did not hesitate to use it whenever I found it necessary.
I didn't want to waste any more time, so I walked out of the alleyway. Not even a second later, a zombie started stumbling towards me, and I groaned in disgust at the way it looked.
Its skin was a bluish-gray colour, and in some places large chunks of meat were missing. Additionally, one of its eyes was detached from its socket.
It was snarling at me with its rotting teeth showing as it gave me a malign crimson eye ringed by sickly yellow sclera and it was staring at me with a baleful red eye.
Fear was replaced by Gamer's Mind, and its manifestation was pushed to the background as I paid more attention to what Observe had to say about the zombie. Gamer's Mind
[Zombie. Lvl 8.
A dead body moving around. Regardless of the cause of death. It has a strong aversion to living things, assaulting them and eating their flesh. Although it moves at a glacial pace, it possesses superhuman levels of power, durability, and endurance. Hordes of them pose a risk, despite the fact that individuals pose little danger.
HP: 800/800\sMP: 50/50]
I smiled to myself and nodded in acknowledgement of the information before rushing in its direction.
It charged me with a snarl of hunger, but I was able to easily sidestep it thanks to the enhancements I had made to my DEX. I then performed a generic diagonally downward slash at its side, which caused meat and blood to fly everywhere.
It jerked away from me, yelled out in pain, and twitched as it did so, but I didn't pay any attention to it. Instead, I focused more on its health point total and how much damage I had caused to it with a standard slash attack.
[HP: 314/800]
I blinked in surprise as I took almost sixty percent of its health with just one generic attack, and my mind quickly ran through the calculations. After a few seconds, a smile appeared on my face that was so wide that it almost tore my face in two.
It would appear that, at least in the case of bladed weapons, the overall damage output was contingent not just on the base damage of the weapon but also on the amount of STR and DEX I possessed.
The calculation that went there was the base damage of the weapon I was using plus the total amount of STR, and the result of that calculation multiplied by the total amount of DEX. This was the most like calculation that went there.
I can definitely work with that.
