Chapter 36 - Not a man thief

Judith's POV

I watched how Milan's body moved like that of a snake. I never knew she was this flexible.

She grabbed so much attention with her moves and the men I was talking to weren't immune to her charms either.

Ughhh this was so annoying.....

I literally just got them to stop talking about Tequila Almanzar, and now this.

Thankfully, the Host had to address the crowd, so the dancing session had ended.

I watched Milan walk off to the bar with a satisfied smile on her face. Oh she was happy about almost ruining my plans? The hell?

I left the guys I was beside and they didn't seem to notice.

I walked up to where she sat, she was happily laughing with the bartender.

"Judith!!" She screamed In a bubbly voice that irked me.

"Don't Judith me..... Why did you go to dance like that?" I frowned.

"Am I not allowed to dance at a party I was invited to?" Milan cocked her eyebrow.

She fucking cocked her eyebrow at me!!

Do I look crazy to her? Do I look crazy to everyone here? Ughhhhh

I took a deep breath.

"You almost spoilt all my hardwork" I simply said.

"I'm sorry" she said and I knew I couldn't stay mad at her for long until she added a three-lettered word.

"But.... If your hardwork could be spoilt by unrelated dancing, maybe the effort you put in was in vain" she said with a little smile.

Anger contoured my face and I snapped at her, "what the hell Milan! If you don't have anything meaningful to say, shut the hell up man"

She rose her hands in defeat and I noticed I got some dirty looks from people around for yelling at her, especially the bartender.

What was this lowlife staring at? Nonsense!

I stormed off, since seeing their faces irked me more.

.....

Silence.....

The bartender disapproved of Milan's friend, but he knew to mind his business, especially in settings like this one.

"Well, look who we have here?" A male voice spoke behind Milan.

She turned around to see an unexpected face. It was her cousin, Jaeyoon.

She wasn't fond of him because he was a savage. He bullied her a lot when she was younger and she never really forgot about it.

"Hi Couz" he placed emphasis on 'couz'.

She shivered inwardly because she didn't have the mental strength to deal with him.

She only smiled, a dry smile.

He started talking about how he came with business friends and useless information she didn't need to know, or so she thought.

"Oh and after the party, let's go home together, I'll drop you off" Jaeyoon said.

"Ummmm.....no thanks, I'll go on my own"

The hairs on her body stood from his suggestion.

Okay she wouldn't deny it, she was terrified of him. She knew somehow that he was a lunatic but she couldn't prove it, not yet.

"I'm going with Judy, I'll be fine, don't worry" she said with an awkward smile.

Before he could say anything, he was interrupted by the presence of someone else.

Speak of the devil ...

Judy was Back here again but this time, she was with a blue eyed, olive-skinned man.

Her arms were around his and Milan noticed their palms were intertwined.

She smiled like a little girl on Christmas morning.

Aww, she liked him.

"Milan, this is Felix, and Felix, my friend, Milan" she briefly introduced us.

Milan smiled and waved a little.

"Oh and I'm leaving with Felix. You'll be fine on your own right?" She said in a very weird tone.

"Sure" Milan wanted to strangle the girl. Now her villain of a cousin would actually have a point. Eishhhhh.

"So no excuses?" Jaeyoon clicked his tongue with an amused look on his face.

Milan didn't respond.

In no time, the party was over.

"Let me get my purse" Judith said to Felix and she scurried to get her bag.

Once she was a good distance away, Felix turned to Milan.

"I liked your dance earlier. You seemed to be in your own world" he complimented.

"Thanks, I was connecting with my ancestors", she joked and he laughed.

"I think you're beautiful" he said out of the blue.

"T-thanks" she stammered because she could already imagine Judy's reaction if she was there.

"And if you wouldn't mind it, can I get your phone number?" He was speaking so smoothly, every word rolling off his tongue like it was part of him.

"No, I'd mind" she smiled awkwardly.

"And why is that?" He asked, shocked that she didn't want to give her phone number to a man that was her friend's "date" tonight? Yes.

"I can't believe you don't see anything wrong it.... " she replied.

"There's nothing though" he finalized.

"If you say so..... I'm still not giving it" she took a sip of her drink, dismissing that topic.

He was surprised. She was rejecting him? A whole him?

Did she see his skin?? His eyes?

He tried opening his eyes wider to make sure she saw them.

Wasn't she entranced? Enchanted?? Mesmerized???

Her reaction was a novelty to him. He wasn't used to not succeeding in flirting.

"It won't work" she said simply as if knowing what he was trying to do.

"Why do you think so?" He was even more surprised.

"Because it just can't" she took another sip.

Judy arrived with a smile on her face.

"I'm ready" she announced.

"Y-yeah.... let's get going then" he replied and they said their pleasantries.

Judith's POV

I found my bag on a table closer, it seemed one of the ushers moved it. Thank the  heavens.

I walked back, confidently strutting towards my date.

It took sometime to get him hooked on me, but somehow, it worked and now he's mine for the whole night and maybe longer, she giggled inwardly.

I was about to call out his name and wave but he was looking at Milan with what looked like interest and I immediately decided to approach quietly.

Getting closer, I heard  him ask, "And if you wouldn't mind it, can I get your phone number?"

My heart dropped into my stomach.

Can I get your phone number? Can I get....your PHONE number? Can..... I get your phone number?

The question played several times in my head.

I should give him the benefit of the doubt right? I mean.....

I decided to listen to rest of the conversation and a mix of emotion hit me like a wave.

Hurt, sadness, pain, jealousy, and finally.....hatred.

Why? why? why? why? why?

Why did this keep happening?

She wasn't prettier than I was! Like hell she looked like my subordinate in terms of beauty.

I am more beautiful, I am funnier, I am more fun, I am.... I am...I am better.

Then why?

Why was it always her?
