Troy spent the night in a room next to mine in the pack house. I was having breakfast early in the kitchen when his scent reached my nose, he was close. He stepped into the kitchen greeting me politely before talking a seat beside me, he had a dark look on his face.
"I'm leaving today" he said "I want you to come with me"
"Today?" I gulped, it was too soon, I hadn't even thought about it yet. I was supposed to be his Luna, I took deep breaths to steady myself. I wasn't sure I was ready to say goodbye so quickly to everyone here. "I need to talk to my parents"
He gave a small smile before kissing my hand and pulling me close to him. His scent calmed me immensely, it felt so unreal. My wolf purred happy to be accepted by her mate.
I spoke to my parents telling them about Troy's intentions. They said it was my decision to make, which made me a bit relieved.
I was sad I'd be leaving my home and going into uncharted waters. On the other hand, I was excited for some unknown reason.
Lexa repeated over and over that I better not forget about her. That was impossible, I'd never forget any of them and of course I'd try to visit often. My brother hugged me reassuring me if I needed anything I could always come to him.
Father and mother looked proud of me as I stood with them in dad's office.
"I always knew you'd be a Luna" mum said
"C'mon Mum. Don't patronize me" I teased
"I remember the night your mother gave birth to you, we were by the river toying with names when your mum screamed out in pain. I couldn't imagine losing you or your mum, I wanted to take her to the clinic but she refused." Said father
"Why?" I asked curiously
"Well, while your dad panicked, I could have sworn I heard a voice telling me to go to the water. I told your dad to put me in but he thought I was crazy" mum smiled
"How could you tell it was safe? Why did you listen to the voice?" I asked
"I can't explain but I felt it in my bones. It was the moon goddess, she assured me everything was okay. And when your father placed me in the water, a bright light surrounded us and the pain stopped. I don't know what exactly happened then when we were heading back to the pack house my water broke."
"As weird as it was, we knew you were special" father added
"Wow" I gasped "why haven't I heard this story before?"
"Everything has it's time" mum smiled
After hugging everyone, Troy and I were off. We asked each other questions trying to get to know each other. We both loved pasta which was a good start, his favorite color was blue, he had two siblings Lyra and Axel who was also his Beta.
Hours had passed and we arrived at his pack later than evening. A few members of his pack were in front of the pack house as we stepped out of the vehicle. They bowed slightly as they welcomed us happily, their staring was so obvious and it made me uncomfortable. As if noticing my discomfort, Troy growled making them stop and put a hand around my waist and led me into the pack house.
"Are you hungry?" He asked
"A bit" I replied shyly
"We could eat in private if you're not ready to dine with the pack just yet" he offered
It was nice that he was being considerate "I don't mind. Better now than later right?" I smiled but I was a bit nervous
He held my hand reassuringly and led us to the dinning area. Eyes turned in our direction as soon as we walked in, the room was buzzing with people talking. Some giving curious looks, some were excited, some seemed to be paying attention to their food.I took a deep breath and followed Troy taking a seat beside him.
"Hi I'm Lyra, Troy's sister" a girl with dark brown hair said. She had the same eyes as Troy, I observed as she gestured to the male beside her "this is Axel, my idiotic twin brother"
"Hello" He said, his hair was like his sister's but he had green eyes.
"I'm Aela" I waved back at her "it's a pleasure meeting you guys"
Troy placed a plate filled with meat, mashed potatoes and some salad. A glass of orange juice and water was placed in front of me too making me blush lightly. I noticed Troy had helped me cut my steak into pieces.
I ate my dinner as a few people around the table asked me questions about my old pack and how I was settling in here, it was overwhelming making Troy growl at them. They stopped bothering me and I placed a hand on his thigh, he seemed to take a deep breath and he smiled at me. A few of his pack members looked at him in surprise, they must have never seen this side of their Alpha. I caught him staring at me a few times, which also did not go unnoticed by his pack.
The rooms in the pack house followed the hierarchy, from the ground floor to the top floor. Starting from the omegas and normal pack wolves to warriors then the Delta, Gamma, Beta and the Alpha on the top floor.
After dinner he led me upstairs to a room where my things had been kept. It smelled vacant, no one had been here in a while.
"This is your room, I figured you'd want privacy" he said
"Wow, thank you Troy" I kissed him on the cheek and felt the sparks again, it was more intense this time and I saw his eyes darken, he was reigning in his wolf. "Relax Troy" I rubbed his arm
He hugged me and inhaled deeply relaxing "you smell like....lavender and..honey"
My face was heated again, before I knew it his lips were on mine. My wolf howled in excitement in my head as the sparks exploded, I could feel the bond thrumming. I was breathless when he pulled away, he cupped my face and stared at me
"Rest well my love" His voice sending shivers down my spine
"Goodnight Troy" I blushed and let go of him. He reluctantly let go and exited the room. I missed his presence already, my wolf whined
You need to calm down I said
I want mate. Go to him.
We'll see him tomorrow, we can't just throw ourselves at him.
Whatever. You will, sooner or later
I didn't say anything else and changed into my pajamas. His ocean blue eyes were the last thing on my mind before I drifted to sleep.
