I couldn't get enough of my beautiful mate's scent as I wrapped my arms around her while she slept after I marked her. The intoxicating mixture of Lavender and Honey blew my mind, I was so lucky.
I hadn't expected her to take down Brianna easily and I felt proud of my mate. The moment she shifted, I felt more drawn to her, her wolf was dark grey but half of her face was white. I could feel the power she possessed, the moon goddess had definitely smiled on me.
Alpha, rogues trespassed the east side of the border... a warrior mind linked me

I wanted this situation to be over so I could go back to my mate. My wolf agreed with me as I speedily made my way to the eastern border.
I saw some warriors and my Beta Axel line themselves up facing the border, when I got closer, I saw three rogues equally lined up facing us but they made no move. They kept growling until finally they took off. Something was off with them.
I tightened security that evening unsure of what was going on plus my wolf insisted we keep our mate safe. I was working in my office when I felt Aela's emotions through the bond, she was awake and seemed to be happy.
Almost immediately I was mind-linked by Casper

I was glad that Aela let me mark her, she had been so understanding since she arrived, I owed it to her parents for raising her to be strong, I couldn't be more proud as a mate and as an Alpha. I saw the way some of the unmated wolves stared at her, my wolf raged at the thought of another touching what was ours.
Every time I was away from her my wolf seemed agitated and threatened to claw me from the inside. He wanted to her to be ours completely as we hadn't completed the mating ritual. I rubbed in head in thought, I had almost forgotten about the ceremony that had to be held as she was joining the pack and she would be my Luna officially.
Hours later and I was hardly done with my work when I dashed up to her room, I couldn't be away from her anymore. Reaching her doorway, I could tell she was inside, her scent enveloping me. I knocked softly
"Come in" was her soft reply, her eyes lit up when I came in, I could see her trying to resist the bond, it was pulling her to me.
"How was your day?" I asked
"Uneventful, slept through the day. I feel much better now though" she dropped her phone beside her on the bed as she looked up at me
I held back a chuckle as I could feel my mate's ogling and lustful thoughts as she and her wolf bickered through our newly formed bond.
"I'm glad you find me that attractive love" I teased "you know I can hear your thoughts now right?"
Her cheeks filled with color "oh. I forgot about that"
I felt her block her thoughts. "That's better"
"No. It's not" I whined making her giggle "Fine. But you'll let me in sometimes right?"
"Of course Troy" as she gave me one of her adorable smiles that never failed to brighten my day and lay back on the bed.
I joined her and we were both facing the ceiling.
"You never told me about your parents Troy" she said playing with a lock of my hair. I sat upright running a hand through my hair, I never liked talking about them. She was up with me and her brows were furrowed before they relaxed
"You don't have to talk about it if you're not ready" she whispered
I felt her brief wave of sadness through the bond. I wrapped an arm around her inhaling her scent.
"Thank you" I breathed out gratefully. I didn't want her to see me as a monster, I knew she was strong but I didn't want my mate to know about my past.
I kissed her softly and felt the sparks and warmth flood my entire body. I pulled away and stared into her unique grey eyes, everything about her was perfect from the inside out. I whispered a silent thanks to the moon goddess for the millionth time today for my mate.
"Dinner?" I asked
"Sure" she put her hand in mine

The next morning I was up early as I had matters to attend to. My mate was still sleeping when I left reluctantly after kissing her forehead and saw her smile in her sleep.
Other smaller packs have been complaining about rogues hovering at their borders similar to what We had experienced, it was probably nothing but I had to look into it. I also had wolves requesting temporary leave to go search for their mates since they were sure they wouldn't find them here.
It was almost noon and I was discussing with my Beta when we got word that rogues were trying to cross our border at the west end this time. We swiftly made our way there joining our men to fight them off.
During the fight I felt a sharp pain that faded quickly, I wasn't wounded so I knew it was my mate.
She hadn't marked me yet so I couldn't mind link her. I gasped in fear and mind linked as much wolves as I could within the pack house
Has anyone seen the Luna?
She left thirty minutes ago Alpha. She said she wanted to take a walk alone..... Casper responded
Find her immediately
"I'lol handle things here, go find her" yelled Axel over the snarls and snapping of teeth.
I felt the sharp pain again and I lost it, I couldn't imagine what was happening to her at that point. My wolf took over as I shifted, leaving my men and went in search of my mate howling loudly.
Alpha her scent leads towards the river....a warrior said through the link
On my way, I'm close
My paws dug into the earth as I pushed harder trying to go faster to my mate. I could smell her already but it was a bit different, it was more intense and made my wolf long for her even more, the scent was overwhelming. Then it suddenly clicked, she was in heat. My wolf roared, she was like a beacon for unmated males, they would take her on the spot if they could. The thought aggravated my wolf as we inched closer, I felt her emotions clearly now, she was panicking. My heart almost stopped when I heard her voice through the bond
Troy.....Then another wave of pain
I finally reached the riverside the same time with other warriors. Her scent was prominent near a rock before it mixed with the scent of other wolves. My wolf snarled tracing the scent before it disappeared towards the river.
My wolf Howled loudly in pain as we couldn't find our mate. We retraced our steps and my mates scent but still lead to a dead end.
Find her.... I ordered everyone through the link.
As they scattered in different directions, my wolf was in a crazed state at her absence, he was bloodthirsty. We walked along the edge of the river following the direction it was flowing when my nose perked up in recognition of the smell of lavender and honey it was very faint and a bit confusing. We sniffed the edge of the river again and there it was. We ran in the direction of the scent before finally stumbling on my mate's amazing wolf in the water, rocks in the riverbed stopping her body from flowing away.
I jumped into the water with reckless abandon and grabbed her by the neck pulling her out before shifting back to my human form
I've found her..Somebody should hurry with a blanket
Her wolf was barely awake as it took deep breaths, then I noticed a tranquilizer dart in her neck. I pulled it out, as soon as I did that, her wolf form retracted on its own leaving her unconscious human body in my arms. I noticed the bruise on her face and I held her closer to me. I couldn't protect my mate, it hurt me deeply, she was alone at a vulnerable time. Her heat was still intense, I was barely keeping it together.
"Troy, here's the blanket" Axel's voice spoke up from behind me
I grabbed the blanket roughly, covering my mate's naked form before dashing towards the pack-house growling at anyone who came close, my wolf was still pissed. I took her to my room this time laying her on the bed, cleaning her body with a wet towel and put her in one of my comfortable shirts. before taking my place beside her. The pack doctor, Giselle assured me that Aela was okay but her heat would be back in full force when she woke up
I did my best not to disturb her sleeping form as I lay staring beside her, taking in every inch of her body. She was mine, I would kill anyone that touched what was mine. As soon as I knew who did this they'd pay, the rogues at the border were obviously a distraction. Axel had taken one of the rogues alive and was in a dungeon awaiting questioning from me.
I had to get to the bottom of this.
