"Mamira?" Martins asked.
While they were in high school, Mamira is a popular term the students used in shipping Martins and Mira together.
Mira was actually the most popular student in high school then. Not only that, her parents are also wealthy and popular because her Dad is a politician.
Martins was the high school prince then, he was actually more popular than Mira. His handsome face even made some girls faint while he's talking to them.
The female students in the class knew they were no match for Mira. Mira was also the most beautiful student in school as voted by the students then. Marsai was also voted for one of the most beautiful students then but Marsai was Mira's junior. A lot of students didn't consider Marsai because of her family background.
Martins was also voted for the most handsome student in their school then and Mark came second.
The students decided to ship Martins and Mira together because they thought they were better off together as they were both good looking and intelligent.
Martins walked up to Mira, he took a bed-sheet from the top of the bed and threw it at Mira to cover her bare body.
He was silent for a while.
"Why didn't you tell me you were Mira instead of doing all this nonsense?" Martins sighed.
Mira looked at him without saying a word.
"Dress up, whenever you're done, I'm outside waiting for you" Martins attempted to leave the room.
"It's not like this is your face time seeing me this way" Mira laughed.
"Psycho" Martins exited the room.
"Plan didn't go as planned" Mira sighed.
Mira's plan didn't go as she thought it would. She aggressively put on her clothes and slammed the door.
Martins was already waiting for her in the cafe across the road.
She entered the cafe. Immediately she had an eye contact with Martins, she smiled.
Martins hissed immediately he saw her.
"Why are you hissing, maybe you thought we would never cross paths again" Mira laughed.
Martins looked at her without saying a word.
"waiter!" Mira shouted.
"You don't have to act like a crazy person" Martins scolded her.
"I've always been a crazy person" Mira smirked.
"You really had a bad character development" Martins chided.
The waiter arrived and they ordered what they would like to have.
"Two Americano's please." Mira said to the waiter.
The waiter bowed down and left.
"Don't you like crazy girls?" Mira asked.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Marsai's character was not good and she even associated with bad people but you still liked her. Then, why can't I be like her?" Mira shrugged.
The waiter brought in their order, placed it on the table and left at once.
"You can never be Marsai. That is certain" Martins dropped his drink on the table.
Mira was speechless.
"Come to think of it, you once said your doctor did a nice job. I could've gotten a hint that you did a plastic surgery." Martins lifted his head and stared at Mira.
"The plastic surgery was very unnecessary, you tried looking like Marsai when you were already beautiful. You doctor did a horrible job anyway"
"What do you mean by that." Mira glared at him.
"You can never look like Marsai, not even her throwback photo from middle school" Martins laughed.
Mira got angry immediately.
"I won't sit here and watch you compare me to a murderer!" Marsai shouted.
"At least, I never killed anyone, she should be spending her life in prison by now, and you think she'll forgive you? You're not a good person either." Mira laughed.
Martins didn't say a word.
"Did I go too far by saying that?" Mira smiled.
Martins stared at her.
"Have you met Mira since you came back to the country?" Mira asked eagerly.
"Why are you asking?" Martins glared at her.
"I bet you guys haven't crossed paths since then but here you are with me after so many years, that means we are meant to be together" Mira smiled.
Martins looked at her in disgust.
"I don't know why you went for a face surgery, a brain surgery will be better" Martins sighed.
"You're very funny" Mira laughed.
"We'll end up getting married anyway and remember my dad was the one who paid for your fees abroad."
Martins was shocked to hear this.
The school actually told him he got a scholarship but he didn't know who was the actual person sponsoring him throughout his stay in the United States, because he thought it was a kind of a board of committees.
"The school never gave you a scholarship. Did you remember the paper my dad asked you to sign the night before you left? I bet you can't remember because you were to happy to read what was written in the paper" Mira stood up to leave.
"Don't…don't tell me that what I'm thinking right now is true because I might go insane anytime now" Martins stuttered.
"whatever you're thinking right now is the truth"
Mira placed her hands on the table and stared at Martins.
"I was surprised you fell for it. I mean I was kinda disappointed in you, you never asked where all the money entering your account was coming from and also the gifts you receive weekly. You thought it was the school sending them to you? Mira laughed.
"So this was a deal between you and your Dad right?" Martins glared at her.
Mira smirked.
"That is a shocking news for you today. Next time, we will talk about what really happened the night Marsai murdered the poor kid and also why you're a suspect." Mira smiled and left the cafeteria.
"Mira is a witch!" Martins shouted.
Martins watched her leave the cafeteria. They both looked at each other for a while, Mira blew a kiss at him before entering her car.
Martins was still in shock when he received a message.
"We need to start planning our wedding soon, don't you think so?"
"This message is definitely coming from Mira. How did this bitch get my contact!" Martins sighed.
"How can I be a suspect of Marsai's case? This is definitely going to be a long ride." Martins walked towards the counter to pay for their order.
"The lady who left earlier has already paid for it" The cashier said, handing Martins' card to him.
Martins sighed and turned to leave.
"excuse me sir"
Martins turned to the cashier.
"Is there any problem?" He asked.
"My friend has a big crush on you and she wants to get your-
"No" Martins cut in.
He left the cafeteria at once.
The cashier sighed. She and other workers in the cafeteria have been admiring Martins since he passed through the cafeteria. They believe that his own handsomeness is out of the world.
The other workers laughed at her for getting rejected even before she could ask for his contact.
Martins has gotten used to this. Everywhere he goes people always admire him, even both the men and women.
"These girls need to be sacked" Martins sighed entering his car.
Marsai hurriedly walked down the class steps before Jake blocked the way.
"Hey Fatty, move out of the way" Marsai pushed Jake.
"You called me Fatty?" Jake laughed.
Marsai walked hurriedly.
"Why are you in such a hurry?" Jake walked fast trying to catch up with Marsai.
Marsai stopped.
"I have a place to be today, so that's why I'm hurriedly going home." Marsai explained and turned to leave.
"You have a date with Mr. Mark?!" Jake asked
Marsai turned and walked closely to him.
"Don't mention this to anybody. Besides, its not a date. He is my old friend and-"
"Never mind, I won't tell anyone about it not even Grandma Nini" Jake cut in.
Marsai stared at Jake, he was feeling nervous, adjusting his glasses.
"But come to think of it, how did you know I was meeting Mr.Mark today?" Marsai asked eagerly.
"I was…I was eavesdropping on your conversation yesterday, I'm sorry" Jake stuttered.
"Oh okay, I'm off" Marsai waved at him.
Immediately Marsai left, Jake brought out his phone and texted Hailey.
Hailey and her friends laughed immediately when they received the message.
"She's on a date with Mr. Mark? Loser!" Hailey and her friends laughed.
"Good work, fatty" They replied to him.
Jake was afraid and nervous because he knew he had betrayed Marsai.
Marsai was about to leave the house when she received a call from Jenny. Jenny's voice was shaky which made her wonder what was happening.
"Mar…sai please save me I'm dying..please" Jenny shouted through the phone.
"What could be wrong?" Marsai wondered.
Jenny's abusive boyfriend is at work again.
Jenny sent her location to Marsai.
Marsai ran towards the bus station, she met Mark on the way but ignored him.
"Hi. Marsai. What's wrong?" Mark asked, trying to catch up with her.
"Jenny is in trouble" Marsai cried.
Marsai breathed heavily. Mark held her hands and she stopped for a moment.
"Let's use my car instead" Mark suggested.
