Chapter 8 - 2/7/23 Regionals Finals/Practice

I started off regionals with our regular warm up that I explained yesterday. Then I watched some tiktok and ate a salad before my 100 fly. When I swam my 100 fly I felt pretty slow and had some bad turns. I went like 55.83 adding .08 from yesterday. It wasn't a good race, but oh well. I did a long warm down and went to prepare for my 100 back. I also ate like some gummy bears and some other candy and drank a lot of water.

The 100 back. It was definitely something. I dropped 0.31 from prelims and went 55.38 which is a pb, so that's good. I came really close to the walls on each turn which kinda slowed me down a bit, enough to like drop that .38 to make a 54, or least I thought so. I also had the guy next to me on the first 50, but he had a better last turn and got me with a 55.11. It's whatever. It was fun swimming at regionals. I got 7th place which I would say is decent. 4 seniors are graduating so that puts me in 3rd currently, but there's Hudson and maybe Evan who are faster than me in back... Well anyways that was that.

The 400 free relay. I led off the relay with a 50.95 which is a pb as well, but I didn't feel really good and I was tired, and I also missed my last turn and didn't even push off the wall which sucks. But we dropped 1.94 from prelims which I'll take. Alan went the fastest split with a 50.46, then it was me, then Nigel with a 51.15, and Beckett with a 51.28. We went a 3:23.84 dropping a total of 7.55 from prelims. It was such a fun experience except the food sucked. The only good part about the food was that I got to take home 4 chocolate milks and 4 muffins which will be my breakfast for the next few days lol.
