This was my new status after I assigned all of my stat points I got from leveling up.
I decided to go with a pretty similar route as my last level up but instead of endurance, this time I increased my speed.
Don't get me wrong, I think that endurance is important. But I think that for now speed is definitely going to help me more.
If I was a little bit faster I might've been able to kill another or maybe even an extra two fish yesterday.
My actions of freezing up in surprise and celebrating during battle were not at all factors which limited me during the battle! Definitely!
I just need to be faster!
I also increased my strength by another two points because its still basically my only form of damage.
I don't have any sharp parts of me which I can use to attack, nor can I use any magic right now. So all I can really do to my prey is squeeze and tear them to death.
Finally I added my last remaining point into vitality because you can never be too safe.
If I happen to get injured in a battle or attacked by a predator, I don't wanna be dead immediately. So the more health I have, the safer I feel.
Also I feel like my status isn't that truly reflective of me!
Yesterday I accidentally completely destroyed that guppy's body instantly because I crushed it so hard!
Yeah it was only a level 1 so it was weaker than the others, but still!
I feel like if both me and that fish had the same strength stat then I would be much stronger.
That thing also had an Intelligence stat of 2 while I have an intelligence stat of 5! Yeah, I mean, I am smarter than it, but I also feel like my status doesn't take into account of my human intelligence!
There is no way in hell that if that thing was 2.5x times smarter, then it would be as smart as me.
So that's why I'm going to starting taking the things the system says with a grain of salt.
It's still definitely useful... But I should also pay attention to the creature in of itself.
If a creature is larger than me for example, even if I have a higher strength stat, I'm going to assume that it's stronger than it looks.
But for now I should focus on my own growth.
Speaking of my own growth, let's look at those mutations baby!
Hmm... It looks like in order to upgrade my [Spring Loaded Tentacles] to level 2, it'll take 2 mutagen points and for level 3, 3 mutagen points.
So I could upgrade those all the way to level 3 with all of my Mutagen points right now If I wanted.
But I think Ill at least get another mutation right now rather than upgrading it all the way.
Lets looks at the list...
My Ink sac maybe?
It looks like I could get [Bigger Ink Sac] which just increases the amount of Ink I can keep stored at a time.
Or I could go with [Tired Ink Sac] which would make my Ink make whatever came into contact with it more tired?
[Smelly Ink Sac]?
Seriously what is with this system and wanting me to smell like a literal moldy laundry bin? Wouldn't that mean every time that I release my ink I would have to taste it as well?
Yuck! Absolutely not! No way in hell.
It doesn't look like I can increase the rate at which I can eject my ink through my ink sac though. That upgrade seems to be from my siphons which are also what I use for my propulsion movement.
However, I would rather not upgrade my siphon's for my ink.
I haven't really used my ink all that much in the past week because I don't really have to confuse the guppys more than I already am.
In fact releasing ink on them at this point would probably just make it harder for me!
My siphon's on the other hand are VERY useful. They are the main form of movement for me so I think I would want to upgrade that. I want to make them better at what they already do after all!
[Wider Siphons] would make the funnels wider so that more water could be sucked into them meaning that my propulsions will be ready again faster, or I could also go with [Deep Siphons] which would increase the amount of water I can store in them meaning that my propulsions will last longer.
[Electrical Siphons]? It seems like that would make it so that I could discharge a small electrical current into the ejected water which could numb whatever is following me...
I think I've made my choices!
I'll go with this...
I decided to upgrade my [Spring Loaded Tentacles] so that they'll become even more explosive and reactive for my arms since the harder I hit the quicker I grow!
I also decided to get the [Dark Ink Sac] and the [Quick Siphons]. The [Dark Ink Sac] just makes it so that my Ink is darker and harder to see through when I eject it meaning that it will be harder for predators to keep track of me, and I like it like this.
I like to think of my Ink sac as an escape route I have, not an attack strategy, so making it harder to chase me is exactly what I want.
For my [Quick Siphons] they just increase the flow of water throughout my funnels. This is just gonna make me quicker when I do use them so I can be even faster when I'm attacking!
Speed is important after all! Octopi are ambush predators which means the less time a creature has to think against an octopus, the higher chance of success for the octopus.
In the meantime I think that my Guppy strategy worked pretty well so I'm going to turn it into a routine and keep on at it until I reach level 5!
After that I think that I should be able to look for some better prey!

...
[You have killed a level 2 Kale Guppy]
[You have gained experience]
[You have leveled up to level 5]
[Evolution is now available!]
YES!
Finally!
After around a week of solid grinding these guppy's I finally managed to reach level 5, and I can actually evolve!
I had an inkling (hehe) that I would be able to evolve at level 5 or level 10 but it looks like god out there really is smiling down upon me!
I originally thought that I would be able to get to level 5 in 2-3 days, but ever since that first day it was much harder to level up than I thought!
Getting up to level 4 took me around 2 days, and getting to level 5 took me a whole 5 days!
I get that as my level increases, its going to take more experience to level up, but I seriously underestimated the severity of it!
Again, it could just be because I'm not only attacking lower level creatures, but also because the creatures themselves are on the lower end of the food chain.
Whatever though! After I evolve I should be able to take out even larger creatures and grow at a much faster rate!
System! Evolve!
