Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Evolution is Key

YES! Si! Oui! Ja! Absolutely! Gimme gimme already dammit!

Wow...

That's a lot of choices...

I even have the chance to change my species entirely... and I guess that's the rarity of the species at the end of all of the names?

If that's the case then I should probably choose an uncommon evolution. I also don't really wanna have to change my species again.

A squid probably wouldn't be that bad because they're really similar to an octopus, but a snail?

Yeahhhhhh, no. Probably not my cup of tea.

It's weird with already have an additional 6 arms so removing all of them entirely? I'm not so sure how I would be to cope with the loss of lemon squeezer for Guppys.

So I guess that just leaves the and

Can I look at the difference between the two?

I can finally unlock magic?

Haha! I can finally unlock magic!

There's even different kinds of magic that I can use too!

Ohhhhh, what should I pick, what should I pick?

Physical enhancement magic sounds like I can make improve my physical abilities, while magical manifestations sound like the traditional fictional magic from my old world.

It sounds like the stuff that could use to fling fireballs around, or create tornados with my bare hands, err... tentacles.

Now, I know that typically the fancy spell magic is really useful and seen as the all powerful one, but you really shouldn't overlook pthe basic kind of magic that makes you stronger ya know?

People who had physical enhancement magic also were known to be a lot tankier than their counterparts who usually were weak when it came to close combat.

The only exceptions I can think of this were the people who were naturally gifted with a good body or creatures which were just know to be naturally strong.

But say I was to be both physically gifted and have physical enhancement magic? I think I like the sound of that a lot!

While I'm not necessarily happy to say it either, I also don't consider myself to be a really intelligent person.

Yeah, I was going to college, but at the same time I would say that college is more of a requirement rather than achievement for the 21st century.

I'm not sure I would be able to use the manifestation magical organ to the best of its capabilities so I would rather go with something easier!

So! I think I've decided to go with the !

I also really like the explanation for this octopus. I'm able to control my tentacles better and squeeze them harder?

Uh, yeah?

Rather than trying to create a new strength for my body like magic, I would rather play into my already known strengths. Mainly... squeezing and tearing!

So now, before I evolve, my status should look like this!

At level 4 I had decided to distribute my stat points with 1 going into vitality, 2 going into strength, 1 going into speed, and finally the last stat point into luck.

I know that I could've put it into one of the stats where I can see actual, physical results, but to be honest I really do think that my luck stat is helping!

I've only had 1 close encounter with a potential threat so far and that was with some of the adult crabs which were in the direction of the seamount so I would seriously consider myself akin to having protagonist luck or something!

For my level 5 stat points Ill just balance everything out again but I won't put anything into luck this time.

I decided to put another point into vitality, 1 point into strength, 2 into speed, and the remaining one into endurance.

I also had managed to increase the level of my [Tentacle Grab] to Level 4 and I got my [Camouflage] Skill to level 4 as well, whilst reducing the population of guppys around my rock.

My mutations however are much lower than I thought they would be at this point.

I originally hoped that I would have reached a Level 5 mutation for one of them, but I seem to be getting less and less mutagen points from the guppys I eat!

After a whole week of grinding I only got 8 mutagen points!

Give or take I didn't exactly hunt a lot of guppys in total, I still managed to hunt at least a dozen and maybe up to 2 dozen!

I didn't realize how lucky I was to manage to sneak up on that group of guppys on my first day.

At this point level 1 guppy's don't give me any mutagen points anymore which I found really frustrating, and occasionally even Level 2 guppys wouldn't have given me anything!

Instead of focusing all of my mutagen points into one mutation as well, I went for the more balanced approach of just upgrading all of my mutations once!

YES! I WILL BECOME THE BANE OF GUPPYS!

And then the world went black.
