Chapter 66 - CHAPTER 67

They reached the apartment and Lothaire explained to her more clearly that Danny was responsible for the attack on him.

"What?!" Larisa exclaimed, stunned at his words. Danny was a nice kid and he didn't seem like someone capable of doing such a thing, she would never thought Danny would go to that extent to kill Lothaire because of her which was obvious that he tried to kill Lothaire because he was in love with her. Larisa had no idea who his family were so she was in disbelief that he had hired people to get rid of him.

"Why would he do that?" She murmured to herself but Lothaire heard her clearly.

"Isn't it obvious? He's hopelessly in love with you and the only thing standing in his way was me." Lothaire explained but she knew very well the reason why but his actions were utterly unexpected.

"W...Was he I..in the van?" She stuttered in fear.

"Sadly, he's not but I'll definitely get to him soon." Lothaire replied firmly with a dark voice as he changed his bloody clothes into a clean one.

"What do you mean by that? Will you kill him?" She asked wide eyed in alert as she gulped at the possibility that Lothaire would kill him but she knew deep down that it wasn't a possibility but a must.

She knew how unforgiving Lothaire was, she knew he would kill Danny and no matter what she or anyone said, nothing would change his mind about killing him, so she could only pray for him to rest in peace since it was hopeless trying to save him. She felt bad for Danny that he was going to die soon but he brought it upon himself, he woke the devil up and now he was going to pay for it with his life.

"You don't expect me to chat with him, do you? He tried to take my life so I'll return the favour by taking his." Lothaire said calmly as he got ready to leave.

"Lothaire...You really don't have to, he's just a kid and he was hurt since he had a stupid crush on me and besides you're immortal, I really don't see any need in you killing useless humans." Larisa said trying to persuade him, hopefully he would change his mind about killing them. Lothaire squinted his golden eyes at her and a sarcastic smirk cut through the corner of his lips.

"Do you realize what you're asking of me Larisa?" His voice was now hard, him mentioning her name which he rarely said made her realize he wasn't going to sit back and watch, he was a demon, an unforgiving one, the prince of darkness, he showed no mercy, no empathy and no remorse, there was no doubt Danny was going to die in the hands of Lothaire. "You're asking me to forgive, have you forgotten so soon what I am?" He asked rhetorically with a dark glint in his eyes, she could feel the air around him getting darker, heavier, making her fully aware of what he was capable of.

She pressed her lips in a thin line as she didn't say anymore, she knew it was over for the boy, no amount of pleas would get through him.

"I'm already showing them enough mercy by giving them such a painless death, they should be thanking me instead, those foolish humans!" He growled lowly, he was furious at the fact that weak humans had tried to kill him, something no supernatural creature had ever thought of doing.

Larisa could see the anger in his eyes as they burned into his golden eyes, he was angry at the fact that humans had tried to kill him, but it was his ego speaking, he carried himself very highly and mightily as the prince of darkness so she wasn't surprised at his anger, as it felt like an immortal and powerful creature like himself was being defied by worthless humans.

"Stay indoors, I won't be long." He said with a serious expression and Larisa silently obeyed. His hardened face softened as he caressed her cheeks lightly before dashing out of the apartment.

Lothaire arrived at the Stone's mansion, he exited his car with a dark presence that was air chilling. The bodyguards caught sight of the suspiciously looking dangerous man and they trudged at him with guns pointed at his head.

"Stop right there! Who are you?!" One of the body guards mustered up the courage to speak at the strange man that looked like the devil's clone, a beautiful devil, but no doubt a dangerous one.

Lothaire moved forward to them and they instinctively moved back.

"Stop right there!" The bodyguard ordered again but he continued with his movement as he glared at them with burning eyes.

"Fire!" The bodyguard commanded and they unloaded their bullets at him but it was a big mistake because Lothaire poured out his anger on them viciously.

Matthew, Kyle and their father(Mr Stone) heard the distant sound of gunshots from the gate and they immediately equipped their selves with weapons in alert as they thought the were being attacked by their rivals. Danny had visited them earlier to tell them about Jason's plan to kill Lothaire because of the disturbing and uneasy feeling he felt so the moment he heard the sound of gunshots, his heart dropped as he had a very strong feeling that Lothaire had somehow escaped from the hands of death and had come for him instead.

They had never been attacked in the past by any of their rivals since the mansion was heavily guarded and armed so it was impossible for anyone to get through the bodyguards to them, so they weren't too bothered as they felt their bodyguards would handle whoever the attacker was effortlessly but Danny thought differently as his heart thumped loudly in his ears.

"I wonder who tried to attack us?" Mr Stone said thoughtfully, it was obviously hopeless for whoever it was since their bodyguards would finish the attacker off immediately they stepped foot near the gate.

"Whoever it is must have very big balls." Matthew said in a rather serious tone as his brows creased together in anger.

Danny was in a state of panic, he hadn't heard from Jason ever since they started the operation to take out Lothaire which made him wonder if he was already dead and now, Lothaire was coming for him. He tried to think positively but his subconsciousness reminded him constantly of the strange man coming back to hunt him as a result of his foolish decision.

Matthew, Kyle and Mr Stone were laid back as they expected one of their guards to inform them that the attacker was dead as the gunshots continued distantly. The gunshots finally stopped for a few minutes, the place was as silent as a graveyard, they could hear a pin drop as well as Danny's heart.

The clinking of shoes on the marble floor could be heard as it neared the room they occupied. Every sound made from the clinking of shoes made their hearts race faster in fear, something felt different, the air felt eerie and they smelled danger from the other side of the door, even though it sounded impossible to them, they had the strong feeling that someone had gotten rid of their bodyguards.

The door swung open to reveal Lothaire's devilish handsome figure walking into the room with a sadistic smirk on his face. Their eyes widened as they sighted the terrifying man in front of them. It was obvious no one accompanied him, so they wondered how he got through the bodyguards alone, but seeing him in person, they weren't so surprised since he looked nothing of a human, his presence emanated pure evil into the room turning the room cold which made the hair on their skin stand with terror.

He could hear their hearts racing in fear and shock but none of their hearts raced as hard as someone in the room and it was hard for Lothaire to ignore as he averted his golden gaze to him.

"Hello Danny..." Lothaire's voice was dark and hard as a devilish grin cut through his face and it made Danny freeze in his position as he locked gaze with him. He was terrified as he looked into the strange man's golden eyes that burned like hell.

He knew he was dead.
