Danny was obviously intimidated by Lothaire's presence as he subconsciously took a step backward from Larisa which earned Lothaire's satisfaction. He stared at Lothaire in a confused state as if he was staring at a ghost. He was confused by his unearthly beauty which he didn't think was possible to acquire and more by his dark and menacing aura, which made him cautious.
"Lothaire?" Larisa called in a state of surprise, he was supposed to wait for her till she returned at five but there he was out of the blue.
"You should be aware of what belongs or doesn't belong to you but I'll take no offence since she's the one to blame." Lothaire said as he averted his gaze to her, Danny was left speechless in both confusion and fear as he stared at the strange man.
Larisa shot him a confused look, what did he mean by she was the one to blame?
"Where's your wedding ring Larisa?" Lothaire immediately said as he narrowed his golden eyes at her, his voice was deep and calm but firm and Larisa gulped, she had no intention of taking the ring off but she only took it off when she went to school, since the ring would attract attention and questions she wouldn't be able to reply, as well as unnecessary rumours both true and false since the school was a hot gossip center for the rumour mongers.
"I'll put it on." She said meekly as she took the ring hidden inside her bag but Lothaire immediately grabbed it from her hold, taking her left hand in his, he slipped the ring into her ring finger and a small sinister smile appeared on his lips as he looked at it satisfied, while Anne quietly watched the love triangle before her.
Danny finally came back to his senses and composed himself when he saw the scene before him.
"Larisa, what's going on?" He asked even though he knew fully well what was happening, she was married to the strange man, but his mind refused to believe that the love of his life was married to another man.
"What's going on is that my wife here is a very naughty girl and she refused to tell her friends she's married." Lothaire said with a hard tone as he locked his gaze with Larisa. Danny's face was filled with disbelief as he shook his head slightly, driving his fingers through his hair in frustration.
"How long? How long did you watch me make a fool of myself?!" He growled lowly as his confusion was slowly turning into anger. Larisa didn't know just how much he loved her until then when she saw his hurt filled eyes with immense pain swirling in them, but it wasn't her fault she couldn't reciprocate his feelings for her and she had never even accepted his confessions so why was he so angry?
Larisa didn't know what to say, she couldn't explain herself to him, she was sure he wouldn't understand in his state so she thought it was a better idea to stay quiet and watch him leave after his outburst.
Lothaire watched the kid with a bored expression as he let out his thoughts to his heart content.
"I loved you...I still do..." Danny said with glistening brown eyes from unshed tears and Lothaire scoffed at his words. Larisa whipped her head towards Lothaire who smirked deviously, obviously furious and jealous. It seemed like Danny was welcoming death with his open arms, she wondered what had gotten into him to voice out such an abrupt confession in front of Lothaire whose presence could shut him up in fear but it seemed like he didn't care about anything, not even his life as the words rolled out of his lips.
Anne watched intently as Lothaire looked similar to someone who was about to have a murder spree. Larisa's heart skipped a thousand beats as she watched Lothaire move toward Danny with slow, calculated steps that made one's spin chill. Lothaire could feel Danny's fear as he heard his heart thump loudly in his chest even as he tried to hide it. Lothaire was only inches away from him as he towered above him, with golden eyes glowering down on him as he locked his gaze with his.
His golden eyes made Danny freeze in fear as the air around him quickly turned cold. He felt small in front of Lothaire who still towered above him even though he had a fairly masculine and tall physique.
"Don't ever look at her again if you want to keep breathing." Lothaire's voice was calm and low as he whispered to him, preventing the girls from hearing his threat.
Danny shuddered at his threats which he knew weren't empty as it was obvious that the man could carry out his threats easily and he didn't say another word as he stared at the eerie man speechless and stricken with fear. Larisa and Anne watched Danny leave their presence immediately without sparing them a glance after Lothaire whispered something to him and it was obvious that whatever he said to him scared the poor love stricken boy away.
"What did you say to him?" Larisa asked as she suspected he definitely threatened to kill him, it wasn't unexpected, it was Lothaire.
"Nothing of importance...Anyways, you both can continue with your outing like you planned, I'll see you at five." He said with a smile at Larisa and was about to leave when she grabbed his arm, stopping him in his tracks.
"Why were you here in the first place?" Larisa queried, she knew he was probably watching since he obviously couldn't spend a minute without her and the thought of him unable to spend a few hours without her made her delighted.
"I was actually bribing the professor to make you graduate smoothly." He said even though that was part of the reason he was there and not the whole one as he wanted to watch her too before his eyes caught sight a certain someone who shouldn't have been there.
"What? I remembered exactly telling you I didn't want to bribe my way through school." Larisa complained with creased brows.
"What does it matter when you'll leave all this behind in two weeks." Lothaire said casually as he dipped his hand in his pocket and it occurred to Larisa that they were never coming back if they went back to Empire D. Anne was meters away from them so she couldn't hear him or she'd have argued hysterically about the fact that she would never get to see her best friend again.
"Oh.." She said and Lothaire saw her sad hazel eyes, he knew she'd miss her loved ones but he didn't want her to get too attached as he wanted her for only himself unlike now that he had to share her with her friend which didn't seat very well with him.
"Don't come back late." He told her sternly before walking to his car and disappearing from their sight as he zoomed off.
"That was intense, Danny's never gonna speak to you again, I could swear my life on it." Anne said as they sat in the car.
"Well, good riddance but I kind feel bad for him, it seemed like he really liked me." Larisa said feeling empathetic towards Danny.
"Yea but it's never gonna work while Lothaire's alive, like did you see the way he was looking like the devil himself when Danny confessed his love to you? I thought he'd kill him right there." Anne said with wide blue eyes as she shuddered slightly.
"Ha ha ha." Larisa laughed loudly as Anne exaggerated the scene that was played out in front of her.
"That dude is fucking obsessed with you." Anne said, emancipating on the word 'obsessed'. The mating bond was incredibly strong and she wasn't surprised if he was obsessed because she was too, but the difference was that she wasn't as dangerous or as strong as he was and he'd pour out his wrath on the world to protect her, meanwhile, what could she really do for him. It finally hit her that maybe she was indeed useless as there was nothing she could do for him, she couldn't protect him like he protected her, she couldn't even risk her life for him if she wanted to and she felt incredibly useless, but she pushed it at the back of her mind as she realized that he never thought of her as useless, he thought of her as the most important person in the world, the only being whose existence mattered, so maybe she wasn't so useless as her existence brought light into his dark world.
