Matthew called for Danny after their spy was done with his research a few days later. His brothers were present as usual as well as his father.
"Is this the man Danny boy?" Matthew asked Danny as he showed him the picture of the man in the phone screen that the spy had taken. Danny didn't need to look twice to know that it was the strange eerie man he had met.
It was only his picture he was looking at but still, he felt his dangerous aura and he started to have doubts again but he didn't want to back out now since that would mean he was giving up on Larisa and he couldn't, he would never give up on her.
"Yes." Danny replied firmly and he saw Matthew's face appear grim as he looked at the man in the photo.
Matthew felt wary about attacking the strange looking man in the photo, he had hoped the spy was wrong but to his greatest dismay he wasn't. Just by looking at the photo, he could tell the man was dangerous and extremely powerful, he would have thought he was in the mafia but he exceeded a more powerful presence than a member of the mafia. He was having second thoughts about attacking the mysterious man who was obviously more superior since he didn't know which powerful family he came from or how powerful he was himself as he didn't want to bring to himself and his family the wrath of a more powerful and dangerous family if he killed him.
"I've tried investigating on his family background and his social status but the spy got nothing on him, he's like a ghost." Matthew explained as his brows knitted together warily. He felt like attacking the man was a very dangerous idea, having absolutely no information on the man after sending out his best spy to do research on him only made the man more dangerous to him and he realized that definitely, he was from a very powerful family and they were very good, too good at hiding their trace.
Matthew knew in his dangerous business that the most powerful people were always in the dark, they always carried out their operations anonymously, they always stayed hidden which made them the most dangerous. Matthew figured that if the mysterious man and his family were that skilled in hiding their background and social status, then they were no ordinary family, they would be a more superior and dangerous family and he wasn't sure he wanted to mess with such dangerous people, they were unknown and deadly. The strange man was a dark mystery and he didn't want to take the risk of unraveling it by killing him since it was likely to bring an end to their lineage.
"You don't have to investigate about his background right? All you have to do is send his pictures to the assassins and they'll take care of him." Danny said immediately, he knew his brother would be wary of the dangerous man once he saw him and he knew he'd act rational and think against killing him because the man looked far more powerful and dangerous than them.
"We know nothing about him, he might be from a very deadly clan, not even the mafia. Does he look like someone who's powerless and inferior? We don't know what we're fighting against, we don't know who his family is and how dangerous they are, we are likely to start a war that we won't win if we kill him." Matthew said in a logical sense and every word that left his mouth seemed to persuade his brothers and his father who listened but Danny didn't want to back out, he would lose Larisa if he did.
"If we can't find out anything about him but you think he's from a very powerful family, how do we take care of him then?" Jason implied lazily as he sniffed on the cocaine spread on the table.
"I think it's better we don't do anything, Danny boy you'll find someone else just forget about her." Matthew said reasonably. He couldn't risk the safety of his business and his family because of one woman.
"No! If you won't help me then I'll do it myself." Danny said firmly, determination burned in his eyes, if his brothers won't help him get rid of the man then he would try dying or come out successful. Matthew clenched his jaws when he heard his little brother speak, he thought the lad had gone crazy for a woman but he couldn't let his little brother hurt himself but that would mean betting his chances on everything if he helped him with his ridiculous request.
"We should all calm down, I think you're taking this too seriously Matthew, how dangerous can the man be? If we're careful and we hire anonymous professionals then they won't be able to trace a thing back to us, we'll be totally in the safe so chill bro, let's give the lad what he wants so he can finally be a part of the business." Jason said in a lazy voice as if it was that easy, he was obviously high but Danny chose to listen to him instead.
"What do you think Kyle?" He heard his father speak as he asked for Kyle's opinion, obviously because he was a logical thinker and the brain of the family. He composed himself and sat up straight before saying,
"I'll go with Matthew on this one, he's the rational one,he knows what's best for the business and the family but Jason is the crack head, he'll act like a fool and get us all killed one day." Kyle said with a blank expression and Jason shot him a glare.
"Have some respect, I'm your older brother you little fucker!" Jason cussed loudly at him between gritted teeth.
"I don't have any saved for you." Kyle replied with a flat tone and went back to being quiet.
Jason ignored him and continued sniffing on the cocaine on the table.
Danny was furious that his brothers and his father refused to help him, he had thought it would have been easy but he forgot that Matthew made a thorough research on everything before taking any step on whatever he was doing but he didn't expect the man to be so mysterious and anonymous, his instincts were obviously right, the man was deadly and he didn't need anyone to spell it out for him but still, he'd take the risk and try to kill him himself, he couldn't leave Larisa for him, never!
Danny was obviously angry at their decision but he didn't say a word.
"Danny try to understand, you can't put the family at risk for your own selfish reasons." Matthew said, trying to win him over but he didn't say a word and stomped out of the room angrily.
"Danny boy!" Danny heard Jason call after him when he reached the gate and he stopped to hear him out since he was the only one not against his decision but he knew he wouldn't be able to help him since the family had all decided against it.
"You're a man, you shouldn't let those fuckers play with your head, you have nothing to be scared of. I say off with that bastard's fucking head!" Jason said with enthusiasm and Danny felt hope, maybe he would help him out.
"Are you going to help, even after they all refused?" Danny asked and Jason nodded his head vigorously as he patted him on the shoulder.
"Of course, I'll get the best professionals to handle that fucker, they'll get us his head and I'll add it to my collection." Jason said as he laughed maniacally.
"When?" Danny asked with a gleam of hope in his eyes but he felt uneasy again, he pondered on what Matthew had said and what if his brother was right? But even if he was, he couldn't abandon Larisa, she was his true love and he wanted nothing more than to be by her side forever.
"Tomorrow night." Jason said in a whisper as he smirked evilly.
"They won't hurt Larisa right? You have to make it clear to them not to lay a finger on her." Danny said cautiously and Jason nodded with a grin.
"Of course they won't, I'll be there too so everything will be alright." Jason said in assurance and Danny sighed in relief even though he was scared of the outcome, he was scared that it wouldn't work, he was scared that they wouldn't be able to kill the mysterious man and his subconsciousness warned him fiercely but he ignored it.
