"Deep thoughts, huh? You might drown in them. Just resurface when you have time," Sam began in my cubicle. "What are you thinking about?"
"Oh, nothing really. I'm just a bit tired, I guess," I replied, not in the mood to engage.
"I heard your presentation is going to be a surprise. You might end up in the national games," Sam teased.
"You're crazy! What does that have to do with the national games? It's a dance performance," I said.
"Just kidding. You're taking it seriously. So, what are you really thinking about?" Sam inquired.
"Nothing, really. I'm just tired."
"Come on, we've been together since college. We know each other's flirtatious ways. I know when you're in the mood and when you had company the night before. I also know when you're stressed at work, and I can assure you, whatever is bothering you right now is not work-related," Sam said. "Come on, spill it out. What's the problem?"
