Chapter 53 - A Mess, Groundworks, and Taking Advantage of Prejudices

Gerald walked through the wreckage of his cell.  "By the gods…"  He muttered.  The Librarian was on the wall, embedded… he was also in the ceiling… and the floor… 

Honestly it was a chore for Gerald to step out of the cell without stepping in a little of the Librarian.  'Dryassiad was angry…'  Gerald thought, making a mental note to NEVER make any of the gods angry.  

The other guards had fled at the first sign of trouble except for the one that had handed Gerald the poison cup.  He was mixed in with the Librarian.  

While Gerald may not have had any pity for the Librarian, he did have a small amount for the guard.  

He walked up the steps, cautiously, and filled with magic.  Other prisoners called out for help, but Gerald heeded none of them.  He finally reached a level where the sunlight was just outside of a window.  And so were a number of Greenskeepers and onlookers.  Gerald debated then, in the chamber near the window, what to do.
