The heart wants what it wants, and Vidhi's heart wanted Anirudh's company. She longed to be with him, spend time with him, look into his enchanting eyes and see him to her heart's fill.
Anirudh's abrupt departure, left her heart wounded more than the physical cut. She had limped back downstairs to her room crutching on Sampurna's shoulders, but she wished it to be him!
The night rolled in agony and heartache. Vidhi tossed in her bed, staring outside through the open casement, as gentle breeze made the white silk crochet curtains flutter in an un-patterned rhythm. She was conflicted, the memories of her sweet first kiss, followed by his abrupt disappearance had left her baffled.
'I understand he being hemophobic, but why didn't he come to meet me after!' The question reverberated through her mind, making her restless.
'So, is he regretting those intimate moments already? The moments that I've been treasuring? But, then it was him who initiated the kiss!'
Vidhi kept questioning and counter-questioning herself untill it was way past midnight. Her eyes slowly closed down, drifting her off to a land of dreams where life mirrored infront of her as a distant memory.
.........................
Vidhi was sitting on the swing on the same rooftop, beautifully decorated with flowers. She hummed a very known tune... But, all was so vague!
Suddenly, that familiar all encompassing masculine fragnance engulfed her entity. She tried to turn around, but her movement was restricted by a pair of strong, soothing arms. In a moment, Vidhi was captured in a beautiful embrace, an embrace that her heart had longed for... an embrace that could make all her wearies fade away.
"Bondita... Do you know how much I love you?"
The misty shadow asked in a husky dreamy voice.
"How much?"
Vidhi replied... She wanted to ask him who he was! She wanted to ask him where they were! But all she could do was smile, as she replied him in a question.
The man was now kissing her hair, as his body had leaned on her, spooning her from the back. She sat quietly on the swing, feeling every emotion of the moment.
"I love you so much that I could do anything... Just anything to be with you forever!"
The man hushed again.
"Anything?" Vidhi asked again, as she smirked unknowingly.
"Then promise me that we'd come here on full moon nights like this as long as we live."
Vidhi replied as she bend her head backward, closing her eyes, as the shadow traced a kiss on her lips.
It was beautiful!
"You have a thing for full moon nights, don't you." The man asked her.
Vidhi didn't reply, instead she did something extraordinary, something that she had never done in her life... Atleast not in this life!
She simply got up from the swing and pulled the man down, making him sit on the ground. And before he could react, she started to unbutton his white kurta, pulling it over his head.
Why did she do that?
Vidhi questioned herself repeatedly... But, the vidhi sitting infront of that bare-bodied man didn't reply.
She herself was wearing a saree!
Saree? She wound generally never wear one apart from school functions and Saraswati Puja...
But, why was she wearing a saree then... a beautiful light yellow saree with tiny silver flowers on them. The flowers glowed in the abundance of moonlight.
Vidhi inched forward towards the man.
Such an exquisite body, his skin, his muscles... She was scrutinizing every miniscule of his upper body!
"Would you keep staring at me like that?"
Vidhi heard the man chuckle and she shamelessly pressed her lips on his chest, suckling every bit of his warmth.
'I have to see his face... I have to see his face... ' The thought rang in her mind, as she stretched her eyes to look up to his face. But, the Vidhi that was devouring pleasure from that man's touch would not listen... She would not lift her head to look up!
Suddenly, she felt the man's strong hands had wrapped her neck, pulling her hair in a grip from the back.
"Auh..!" Vidhi let out a soft moaning scream and she found herself being lifted by the man, putting her on his shoulder.
She opened her eyes and tried to see... Her vision was now restricted to his neck, shoulders and back.
There was a small beautiful inscription drawn at the bridge of his shoulders, a little below the nape of his neck...
A tattoo!
Vidhi exclaimed... But, she had seen it before... But where?
'Where might she have seen it?'
But before she could gather her thoughts, the man put her off his shoulder and lay her down on a soft cushion mattress on the ground.
The mattress was covered with a cream satin sheet that felt heavenly under her skin. The man was touching her already, his hands roamed freely on her body, tickling the bare skin of her abdomen.
"Ahh.. Come closer!" Vidhi moaned as she felt his wet tongue running down the crook of her neck, trailing all the way down to her right shoulder, removing her saree from her body in the process.
The feeling was overwhelming and Vidhi felt a tingling sensation in between her legs!
'What is happening to me?' She thought.
'Who is this man?'
With an ardent fervour, Vidhi turned around to see the man's face.
Her eyes were closed and she could almost feel his warm breath on her face.
"I want to see you..." She muttered the half eaten words, as her eyes forced open to see him.
Two mesmerizing pair of dark eyes greeted her view, followed by a sharp pair of nose, but... but... What was that!
"Aaaa..."
Vidhi let out a sharp cry. The thin scarlet lips had curled into a sinister smile as drops of fresh blood dripped from them.
She saw blood in his teeth as he spoke in a muffled robotic voice.
"Vidhi... I'm hemophobic! I fear blood... I fear bloooood.....!"
The voice faded away slowly as Vidhi let out a sharp scream, waking herself up from the horrendous dream!
Droplets of sweat had drenched her body as she panted breathlessly.
"What was that!" She murmured, as tears busted out from her eyes in fear.
She turned towards the bedside table, picking the glass of cold water from it.
She held the glass to her lips, emptying the content in one go.
The room was not lit, barring the silvery moonlight that had entered through the open casement.
And, while drinking water, through the glass, Vidhi's eyes fell on the window.
Vidhi shuddered as the glass fell down from her hand, shattering into a hundred pieces on the floor.
There was a silhouette of a man standing in her room infront of the window. He was facing opposite to the light and Vidhi couldn't trace his face, but her intuition told her who it was...
"Anirudh...!"
The words escaped her lips as she shut her eyes immediately, rubbing them with her hands.
Her mind was quick in calculating the possibilities of him being in her room... and, there were none!
The door was locked from inside and the only open window was at a height of 24 feet from the ground.
Then how did he!
Vidhi couldn't think as her heart started to thud in fear and anticipation.
She slowly opened her eyes, examining the window through the crack of her fingers.
"Wait... What!"
No one was there... but, the fluttering curtains. Vidhi swallowed hard as she gaped at the open window stupidly.
'I must be getting crazy!' she thought as she eyed the shattered glass pieces on the floor.
"Huh..! Will have to take care of these pieces in the morning, or else, if I cut my feet, Anirudh would again run away from me for another week! Wierd Guy!"
Vidhi murmured as she pulled up the light blanket on her body, adjusting her pillow, as she waited for her long coveted dreamless sleep.
