Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 : Friends beyond time

When i woke up in the same room as last night i was actually really happy and looking at the clock of my phone this time it was 11 so i just took a new set of clothes

'still blue'

and went to take a shower and went to the livingroom with my bag that i use for school but this time it didnt have any books in it only a single pokeball a pair of berrys and the launch that i was gonna eat and a 2 litter water bottle this time the traveling distance is about an hour walking meaning at least 2 hours of travel and by 11 30 i was ready so i said good bye to my mom

'i still feel weird saying it and i didnt interact much with her ,and once my journey begins i dont think that will change'

after an hour of travel i finally got to the nugget bridge.

As i was manuvering through the batteling trainers i got to the other side and went near the river since pokemon usually like to drink water from there and i finally started moveing, at first i only found rattatas and bellsproud and a weedle that i did not run away from and if anyone asks that never happend.

After 2 and a half hours i decided of stop looking and just sit near the river waiting for SOMETHING to happen and something indeed happen, while i was looking at the water and started to fall sleep, i heared a slight movement on the water enough for me to shock me awake and look at my left and HE was there.

looking at the space like it had all the answers in the world with his tail on the water like a fishing rod and when i looked he looked at me

"slooooowpoke"

and that was all i needed to know so i slowly put a hand in my bag and pulled an oran berry(sitrus where at 15 i had no choice) and offered him and he looked where his tail was and after a moment went back up and he went slowly walking at me without any worry in the world and sniffed the berry before giving it a lick so i placed it on the floor and he started to eat it and after that a smile appeared on his face which i matched and i put my hand near him and he gave a step closer and i started to pet him and he gave a slight tail waging that i was fairly sure wasn't there before and when i stoped he kept smiling and sat beside me and laid down and put his in the water again so i just pet him again which he seemed to like and we where like that for an hour until his tail started moveing a little more than before and like that slowpoke rose his tail twice as fast than before and there was a magikarp so slowpoke moved away from the river and just started waging his tail and then just lied on the ground again as if it wasn't bothering him at all and the magikarp slowly started loseing his grip as the oxigen was leaveing his lungs until it stoped moveing completly and dropped slowpokes tail and then he started eating again and i can honestly say that seeing nature in a pure state like this is a little concerning but nothing that can bother me much and seeing slowpoke with his mouth covered in blood is kinda like he has tomato sauce all over his mouth which i found kinda fun and with that i decided to ask pulling the pokeball out of my bag

"hey slowpoke wanna be friends?"

the moment he put his forhead in the pokeball and that red light took over him and then the slight sound indicating the capture will be something that will stay on my memory forever

i still had a 5 hours before needing to go home so i decided that i was gonna bring slowpoke out and we stayed where we were and i let slowpoke keep fishing and i kept petting him like it was the most amazing thing to do (and it is and i stand by that) .

The second fish wasnt a magikarp it was a Goldeen which gave a little problem to slowpoke so he used what i asume was confusion on him to make a quick K.O and then started eating.

After the third fish he decided he had enough and stared at me for a second and put his head on my lap and started to sleep so i shifted my focus to a battle that was happening near me, a psyduck vs a geodude and there wasnt much to say,
2 water guns and he was down.

By 7 30 with a last pet i put slowpoke back into his pokeball while he sleep and started my walk back home.

By 8:32 i got home and decided to show slowpoke around home and explain that my mom that i skiped school to get a pokemon (she didnt take it very well)

and after a little bit of taliking
(half an hour of yelling yelling me why what i did was stupid)

she calmed down and i started to show slowpoke around and i decided to look for a place with no people while walking with slowpoke and after 28 minutes we found it

'it could be faster since slowpoke is really slow but i dont really mind i wanna enjoy this slowly'

"well slowpoke show me all the moves you know "

slowpoke then started using what i guess is water gun and a pinkish move that i guess is confusion or psychic cant really tell with the goldeen i thought it was confusion since its what he learns first but i dont know the real diference so it could be anything

"was that confusion buddy?"

"sloooow"

'i take that as a yes'

'i need to figure out how to win a battle with two moves or learn something new in 4 days before the school ends since that would be a crucial day and i dont think i can teach a move that fast without having done that before so to the drawing board it is'

so i sit with in a tree with slowpoke in my lap
' he is a heavy boy and they usually are 25kg aprox so maybe im just that weak?,

anyways what do i know about slowpoke?

1) i know he knows water gun and confusion which are a water and psychic attack so it could be worse

2) he has about 5 weakness and 5 strenghts

3)water gun is nearly instantanious confusion takes a little over 3 seconds

4)i know specificaly slowpoke takes at least five seconds to start fealing any damage and he has no nerves in his tail so that part of his body can take as much punishment as he likes.

'And that seams to be about everything so with this information all thats left is start makeing theorys.'

And just like that 3 days go by and today is the last day of school meaning today we would get our license if the exams went well and when i got mine i was really excited

" dont be that happy mister brightburn if it wasnt for the note of your last test you would be here another year you barely passed"

but i didnt care i had a license and that means the countdown had started and it all started today, a few things i picked up in this last days was that as cool as it is sleeping with slowpoke in bed wakeing up not fealing my legs wasnt as cool and and a more important note part of the school budget came from the plantation off berrys and a loveley meganium since they have the ability to revive them with just a breath so there isnt a real bad season to plant and that gets them a constant flux of money.

i also learned that sponsorship was a thing ,the league usually sponsors people they deem worthy useing their notes for the exams meaning i dont have a chance at getting one since 'i barely passed' for someone with a gap on knowlage as big as mine i would say it is a fair trade so once class was over i saw a bunch of my classmates all in one big group and from what i could see they all had pokeballs in their belts while mine was in my bag since i didnt like (and couldnt pay) those electomagnetic belts but i knew what that meant because that was exactly what i would have done as soon as i had pokmon so i got near them and started to hear and saw someone in the center writing in a paper

"Jacky will go against Max and Rose will go against Peter and i will wait till one of the battles end since we are an odd number of people"

'i guess this is my call to action'

"i think i can help with that"

"paul? since when do you have a pokemon? i thought you couldnt aford it"

'it seems that the fact that im not rich is a known fact'

" im not that broke you know, i could still aford a pokeball and went searching for a pokemon near the nugget bridge"

"i guess a pokemon its possible... wait you said a pokeball and not a pokemon?

you went alone at the nugget bridge to catch a pokemon?

i gotta say im impressed i didnt took you as someone with the balls to do that."

i just shruged and smirked

"well since you came last you will face me, we where planning to go to the pokecenters battle area and take turns to battle its about half an hour from here so we planned to go home and tell our family about it and and gather at 10:30 in the doors of the pokecenter and ask for permision to use it sounds good?"

" sure see you soon guys"

and with that i left first the conversation and looked at my phone

'9:15 i gotta tell mom im going to have my first battle'

at 9 48 i got home an left my bag on my room and told mom about how i got my license and that i was going with some classmates to the pokemon center to have our first battle to celebrate, an just like that i changed of bag to the one with my adventure esentials leaving the tent and sleeping bag behind and takeing a few berrys with me and a 2 litter bottle for slowpoke and me if we where thirsty and i figured that we had some time so, we went to a small lake near at a ten minutes walk from the poke center and slowpoke decided to start floating with his belly exposed on the river

' i don't think i Will ever get tires of this'

At 10:10 where i called him an told him to remember the plan for the battle and he let a "slooooow" while the current of the lake was moveing him slowly from left to right so i took that as a yes and by 10:20 i recalled him from his pokeball and started walking to the pokecenter with the pokeball in hand at all times.

By the time i got there it was
10:29 and they were all there so i was the last to get here.

'it makes sense i would also get here as soon as posible with how excited i am to have my first pokemon battle.'

"so you showed up at after all, we started thinking you would not show up"

i just showed my phone marking the change from 10:29 to 10:30 and he laughed

"fair enough"

And without any other word we entered the pokecenter
