Chapter 26 - Finishing what I started

"I see you need more training. I guess we'll be sending you to Grafit academy after all." Micheal said with a sigh.

"Another academy?" Kevin asked. "Wait a minute. Overlords are usually grown men. Will you be sending me, a five year old into the midst of 100 year olds!? Wait again! How old are you father?"

Micheal hesitated a little before talking. "I'll be sending you and your friends to a children overlord academy. You'll be there for a year."

"Children overlords? What next? Pigs start flying?" Kevin asked.

"I'll explain to you later at the castle. Let's go have our baths and breakfast." Micheal said as he put Kevin on his shoulder and disappeared again.

He appeared in Kevin's room and threw him into his bed before teleporting to his room. Kevin sighed thinking about going to an academy again. "If I didn't get that system update I'd still be in Winland academy."

He took off his clothes and armor and tied a towel around his waist before heading into the bathroom.

Five minutes later he came out looking refreshed. He used [Time manipulation] to make his hair short again. After putting on new clothes he opened his door and headed to the dining room.

As he reached the door he heard a shout. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE'S NO TURKEY!!! WE HAVE A WAREHOUSE FULL OF THEM! I CHECKED YESTERDAY!"

It was his father's voice. He sighed before walking in. At the rectangular table he saw his father, his friends and Alex. His mother wasn't there at her usual seat beside his father.

A maid was beside his father bowing to hide the tears flowing from her face. She had obviously been scared from the shout.

His father looked like he could burst at any moment. "Kevin!" Leon shouted. He stood up from his seat and jumped at his friend. So did the others except Rachel who kept eating.

"What's happening?" Kevin whispered. "It seems today is 'Turkey Thursday' and since there's no turkey your father is pretty mad." Leon whispered back.

Kevin looked at Alex who was focused on his meal not even looking at anyone.

*Brriiiing* *Brriiiing*

Kevin felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He took it out and saw "Mom" on the screen. Wasting no second he activated [Loophole S] and jumped to his mom.

He saw his mother sitting on the bed with her back resting on a pillow. Her stomach was swollen showing that she was pregnant.

"H-hi mom." he said nervously.

Haritha smiled and said. "We can skip the reunion hugs for later. Can you help me get something?" she asked.

"Yes I can but what of the maids?" he asked.

"No. I want you." she replied.

"Ok....What do you want?"

Haritha smiled. "Turkey~" she replied.

"Ok... I'll- I'll be back." Kevin said before bolting off to hide his nervousness. He couldn't say no so he had to find that Turkey.

Turkey in Mersus wasn't the normal turkey animal back on earth. It was a common beast that could be tamed. They had no special skill except for their sharp wings which were used to produce kitchen knives.

He ran into the dining room and whispered into his father's ears. "Mom is craving some turkey. What should we do?" he whispered.

Micheal put his hand on his chin and started to think. "Hmm..."

"I-" he said but he was interrupted by a maid shouting. "Your majesty! The guards have detected something absurd. Many turkeys on the loose near the border!"

"What the..." Kevin said but he trailed off at the last word.

He looked to see his father's reactions but he was gone. Alex finished his meal and stood up to leave. Not bothering to care about turkey.

"Do you really think your father went to fight some turkey's as an emperor or he just went to confirm the rumor?" Leon asked.

"He probably went to get them himself. Did you hear? My mom is pregnant and that's what she craves. I've heard stories that men do crazy things to get what their pregnant wives crave." Kevin said as he sat on a chair and was served his meal.

The three boys in the group laughed together because of the funny imaginations in their heads. "That's not something I would do. I'll just tell them to eat what we have at home." Roy said.

"C'mon have mercy on the ladies." Leon replied. "You're a simp you know that." Roy said.

That one line set off an argument between the both of them. They finished their meals and took the argument to one of the training halls. After 5 minutes wooded swords hit each other and stopped only to continue again.

"Boys." Jasmine said with a frustrated look. "Hey!?" Kevin said. "Except you." she replied with a smile.

Kevin went to the training hall where he saw the two boys on the floor drenched in sweat. "Roy, can I ask you something." Kevin said.

"Do you want a system?"

Roy lifted his head and put it back on the ground. He looked like he was thinking. "Do you have any ways to reduce the pain?" he asked.

"N- wait." Kevin said. 'Carlos. Is there anyway to reduce the pain?'

'Yes master. There is. If you spend 300 system points (SP) to buy a special cream in the system store, the pain will be reduced by fifty percent. Overuse will lead to more pain.'

'Why didn't you talk before? Don't be useless.' Kevin thought to the AI.

'It's because I can't master. I don't have that function. When I become an advanced level AI I will be able to do that and have many more functions.' it said.

'How do I get 300 SP apart from spending real money. I have 0 SP.' Kevin asked.

'SP can be gained from completing quests and doing a check-in.' Carlos replied.

'What's a check in?'

'A feature on the system that grants 300 so every 12 hours. It's totally free.'

"I see. Roy, the best I can do is reducing the pain by 50%. Do you still wanna do it?" Kevin asked.

"I-" Roy said.

For him it was a life changing decision that would make him stronger but the pain that he would feel to receive such a gift was stopping him. All he needed was a little motivation.
