In a very large hall, there were about five hundred five year olds chatting and gossiping about latest news or tv shows.
Some had made silent groups. Some stood solo. One of these silent groups was Kevin and his friends or rather Nick and his friends. The others had been given their own masks too and they had changed their names.
No one approached them. If anyone did they would show a cold glare and make them back off. Some people had already given them names. 'The masked ice gang' 'the masked freaks' 'the cringe club' and many others.
Suddenly a sound of clapping came from backstage and a man emerged from there. He wore a white robe that covered his whole body even his feet. His green hair swept the floor like a mop. He looked like every fan girl's daoist husbando.
Even though he clapped there was still some whispering and suddenly an aura sweet everyone off their feet.
He didn't bother introducing himself before he began the introduction speech. "Grafit academy is a prestigious institution to train your weak arses into strong and righteous men." he said.
He seemed to wait for the words to sink in and when they did a tiny voice sounded from the crowd.
"We are no weak! We are all rank 8 here. We aren't mortals! We're overlords."
The children began to whisper in agreement until the man on the stage shouted. "Silence!"
"We teachers at this academy will give the best..." he said. His whole speech was a bunch of righteousness, integrity and diligence and not what Kevin wanted to listen to.
After 5 hours, the man finished and went back to where he had come from. A woman in a suit told all of them to go to the admins office to register themselves and other things.
After the ordeal Kevin was famished and tired. He and the other 2 boys were to be in one room in the boys dormitory. The 2 girls were placed in a room with another girl.
The group of five "commoners" had decided to meet under an apple tree behind the boys dormitory and when they did, the girls or more correctly, Jasmine came very mad with a volley of complaints about her and Rachel's roommate.
"She's such a crybaby when you hit her! She asks too much questions! 'Why do you wear masks? Are you scarred from Ryūketsu? Which empire or kingdom do you come from?.' She's such a creep! I caught her head deep in my lauggage sniffing my pan-!"
"That's enough J-Carla." Kevin said saving himself from the slip of his tongue at the last moment.
Jasmine got the name Carla.
Rachel was Barbra.
Leon was Leo.
Roy was Rico and Kevin got the name Nick.
"We may have a day off today but I'm not letting you guys slack off with training. Also, we've been asked to fill in these forms." Kevin brought out five wooded slabs with a paper attached to each of them.
He distributed them and started to read it's contents. "Despite giving us a day off on our first day, we've been asked to fill in which classes we'll be taking. It's quite obvious that they gave us the whole day to think. We'll be submitting them at the admins office anytime today. Let's begin." Kevin said as the four of them sat on the green grass but Kevin sat on one of the tree roots giving in front of the others.
Suddenly he stood up looking alert though his mask didn't show his face his friends knew something was wrong. Kevin walked towards a nearby bush and grabbed a girl out of it.
She had brown hair that covered her hair like a mop and square glasses that looked a little too big for her face. She plastered a smirk on her face and brought out a recorder.
It said. [That's enough J-Carla]
"Who are you?" Kevin asked with a menacing tone.
"Melanly Hudson! Grafit academy newspaper club president. Hahahaha. It seems that for some
reason you guys changed your names a
and wear masks. I'll uncover it all! I'll reveal your secret! I'll-!... Wha-!? What are you doing?"
Kevin didn't let her finish. He ran around in circles five times before letting go of Melanly's hand and flinging her with all his strength.
"I'll be back!" she shouted as she disappeared with a twinkle in the sky.
Kevin turned around to his friends and he saw Jasmine's aura flaring a bit. After a few seconds she sucked it all in.
"Judging by your reaction that's your annoying roommate. Looks like we've made our first enemy." Kevin said with a smile.
He went back to his "seat" and dusted it before sitting. "So... Where where we?" Kevin asked.
"We haven't even started." Leon answered sarcastically.
"Oh. I was just about to start explaining the classes we'll be going to. No beating around the bush. I'm going straight to business.
First up is the general class. It's pretty much normal day-to-day subjects. Maths, English, Ooh they added economics." Kevin said and Leon groaned at the sound of those subjects.
"I'll skip maths and economics." he said.
"Ah, sorry buddy. It's compulsory." Kevin answered. "Next we have mana/magic class. I won't be taking any elemental classes. I'll only go for the mana manipulation class. Select your classes."
Everyone bent their heads and picked the classes according to their elements except Kevin.
"Next is the weapon class. I'll go for the sword division. Leon... You must choose at least one weapon class y'know." Kevin said.
Leon looked like he was sweating bullets but he finally spoke. "Actually, I'm having trouble choosing between the axe and the hammer."
"You can just choose both. Now that's done. Up next we have martial arts. Actually there are two teachers even though martial arts isn't a compulsory subject or class.
I spoke to some people yesterday and I found out that the first teacher is a young man called Leo Nasashi. Leo is pretty much a nice uncle/big bro type of guy and dosen't report or scold you if you slack off or do bad.
On the other hand there's an old man who's beyond strict for little kids. He has no students and it's on of the mysteries of this school as to why he hasn't been removed from the post."
"I'll be choosing the Leo guy." Leon said.
"Me too." Roy replied.
"Me three." Jasmine replied.
Everyone turned their heads to Rachel for her answer but she said... "I'm not taking martial arts."
'Oh my god~ That heavenly voice!' Kevin thought. 'Ahem.'
After listening to Rachel they turned to Kevin who was on his feet already and he said. "Well. I guess I'll be this old man's student. Let's see what he has to offer."
He started to sprint towards the admin office and he bolted off at the first corner he got too. After submitting it, he walked about in the school hallways. Eavesdropping on interesting conversations.
Then he heard an arrogant shout.
"All hail! All bow to the mighty crown prince of the bluecloud empire! Protector of angels! Hater of humans! Hope and savior of our generation! Lord Leyn!"
