They both had awoken once again when the sun started to go down, skipping the whole day just from a nap. Once Sano opened his eyes, he was met with Kylo's mischievous smile. The other gently ran his fingers through Sano's hair, "Good morning, cutie~" he chuckled. Sano pushed the other's hand away and sat up, fixing his shirt, "Don't touch me," he replied.
"Oh? Someone is a little grumpy when they first wake up. I can make you feel better if you'd like~" Kylo commented as he sat up, keeping that same smile. Sano fixed his hair before looking back at Kylo, who just stared at him. Sano sighed softly as he couldn't understand the other's flirtatious behavior and found it somewhat annoying, "No, thank you. I'm fine," Sano answered. The silence soon followed, giving Sano enough time to think about what had happened earlier today.
"Why was my energy drained so quickly once you turned into your sword form?" Sano soon asked. Kylo replied without hesitation, "I can only switch forms using energy. I also use energy to do the most damage while fighting. I get that from you. I take the energy I need from your body and use it to fight. I took more than normal the first time because I was deficient from not being wielded in a long time." Kylo stretched out his body before continuing, "You are also low on energy compacity. Which makes it even harder for us to fight and for me to take your energy."
Confused by the other's answer, Sano again turned to Kylo, "What do you mean?"
Kylo hummed as he tried to think of an easy way to explain it to Sano, "Well..." he took a moment, still thinking about how to word his answer, "Think about it like this. We'll say your energy compacity is currently around 5%. No matter how much energy you save or gain, you can only use 5% of it. Because of this, your energy drains much more quickly. However, if your energy compacity is at 90%, you'll be able to keep me in sword form, use my damage, use my true abilities, call me to your hand without touching me, and still have enough energy to run and fight without a sweat," he explained.
Sano listened to the other carefully, finding it fascinating how vital energy was. However, he was still full of questions, "How do I increase my energy compacity then?"
"By killing the ancient dragon and the four gods. Well, they aren't technically gods. They are just powerful beings, so they are referred to as gods." Kylo replied.
Sano's eyes widen a bit in shock, "What!? I have to go through all of that to gain energy!?"
Kylo laughed, finding the reaction of the other amusing, "It's not JUST energy, my precious wielder. Once defeated, the gods give you a gift for your bravery and strength. This gift will grow your energy compacity and give you a unique power. However, all of this is just a suggestion. You don't have to defeat a dragon or gods. You can make your way out of the forest, find your friend, and take revenge. Although, you might as well say your goodbyes now. We could barely kill a deer. You won't be able to last in a battle for even a second. I would just be as useless as a stick you found on the ground besides, I'm better looking."
Sano furrowed his brows at the other statement, finding it hard to understand, "So basically, I don't have a choice at all."
"I guess not," Kylo chuckled.
Another sigh fell from Sano's lips as he rubbed his head. There was too much to do and not enough time to do it. He closed his eyes as he continued to ask Kylo questions, "If I do gain more energy compacity. How do I get more energy itself?"
"Doing things you already do. Like eating and sleeping. Although, those do take up some time as you have to wait for your body to process and digest food. The best way to gain energy quickly is by touch," Kylo explained again.
"By touch?" Sano opened his eyes to look over at Kylo with curiosity. Kylo suddenly pinned Sano to the cave wall, leaning in closer, "Do you want me to demonstrate~?"
Sano was caught off guard by the other's sudden actions. He stared at Kylo, looking into his sliver grey eyes that one could easily get lost in. The closer Kylo got to him, the more he froze. However, Sano found that even the other's scent was lovely and had a calming aura. Finally, Sano snapped out of his hypnosis and pressed his hand against Kylo's chest, pushing him away, "I'd prefer if you use your words instead."
Kylo allowed himself to be pushed away as a disappointed sigh left his lips, "You're no fun..." he mumbled, "Kissing, like what we did for our contract, is an excellent way to restore energy for the both of us. I have also learned that when I use my body to please humans, they create tons of heat that I can form into energy."
Sano sat, lost at what Kylo meant until the thought hit him, and his face started to turn a tint redder once he understood what Kylo was referring to, "Y-you... you please your wielders?" Sano asked, stunned at the thought. The demon leaned closer to Sano, making him more flustered, "Only if they ask me to~." Kylo replied. Sano looked away from the sword demon, avoiding eye contact as he cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. Then, quickly, he changed the subject, "Anyways! You said I need to defeat some dragon and four gods. How can I do that if I can't kill a deer?"
Kylo took a moment to think before he snapped his fingers. Once a thought came to mind, "Cradle Hearts! I almost forgot about them, as my last wielder was already strong enough to defeat the dragon."
Sano looked away, somewhat upset at hearing how Kylo's last wielder was more capable than he was now. Then, quietly, he responded, "I see... What are Cradle Hearts?"
"They are hidden in the dungeons of the forest. From what I remember, there are four of them. They will be able to grow your energy compacity enough to fight the dragon," Kylo answered before noticing the look on Sano's face. Sano was still disappointed in himself for being weak, "What's wrong?" Kylo asked.
Sano shook his head, "Nothing," he spoke, running his hands through his hair, "It's just a lot to take in. I must find these cradle hearts just to be able to fight, defeat a dragon, kill four gods to be able to hold a sword and try to find a way out of this forest to reach Naka before something happens to him. He's probably already..." Sano stopped himself, not wanting to say it out loud. Instead, he gulped as his negative thoughts penetrated his mind.
Kylo grabbed Sano's hand, kissing the mark left on their contract, "I'm sorry that it's a lot on you, but you have me. I will be with you every step of the way. I'm not breaking my promise to you. We'll get your friend back" Kylo gave a soft smile that seemed to warm Sano's heart, making him feel somewhat better.
