THIRD PERSON'S pov.
>>RACAN'S ENTERTAINMENT<<
Mr Baldwin sat on his big swivel chair, he looked outside through the glass window and watched the busy road below; pedestrians are walking up and down, cars are honking as the drivers are very eager to get away from the heavy traffic jam.
He played absentmindedly with the cube puzzle he was holding. His ears pricked up when he heard his office door creak open, but he didn't turn around to see who walked in because he knew only his assistant can come up here.
"Mr Baldwin, here's the latest update from Mrs Baldwin's secret bodyguard" his assistant said.
"Hm" he hummed, cueing his assistant to continue.
"Sir, according to Mrs Baldwin's secret bodyguard, she has been hanging around a lawyer recently" he reported.
"A lawyer?"
"Yes, sir, and from Jeff's observation, it seems like she's getting some papers ready"
"What papers?"
"Divorce papers"
Mr Baldwin stopped playing with the cube puzzle, he swivelled his chair around and looked at his assistant with a scared and shocked expression.
His assistant took a step back, since this was the first time he's seen Mr Baldwin in this state, he doesn't even know if he should continue with his report anymore or even flee from there.
"What?!" Mr Baldwin growled. "Any news from Miss Fatima?" he asked quickly, there's a hint of panic in his voice.
Right at that moment, Mr Baldwin's phone started ringing. He reached for it and saw Fatima's name flashing on the screen, then he quickly swiped to the answer button.
"Hello?"
"Mr Baldwin, your wife is coming over with divorce papers, I tried to talk her out of it but she didn't listen to me" she sighed sadly. "I guess she's really made up her mind this time"
Mr Baldwin closed his eyes, he did a sharp intake of breath and pulled his hair.
"Then... you'll do me another favor" he said.
"Sure. What do you want me to do?" Fatima asked.

RACHEL'S pov.
>>RACAN'S ENTERTAINMENT<<
My neck hurt, as I raised my head and stared at the words Racan's entertainment boldly written at approximately the 2nd floor of this sky-crapper; it's Duncan's company.
Tears immediately brimmed my eyes, as I had a quick flashback to the day Duncan brought me here and told me this company is his and it's named after us -our ship name precisely.
I was overexcited that I didn't feel hungry for days and ended up passing out from malnutrition, I couldn't help but laughed at the memory. I never knew I'd come back here, just to end everything that happened between Duncan and I; such is life.
I walked into the building and was shocked to see how big the company's grown over the years, everyone's working efficiently, they all seemed so focus in their work as if they're handling a big project.
My eyes searched around for the receptionist's desk until I found it, the receptionist waved at me with a polite smile and I smiled back, then approached her.
"How can we help you, Miss?" the receptionist asked.
"I'm here for Duncan Baldwin" I answered.
"Do you have an appointment?" she asked again.
"No"
"Then, I'm afraid you can't see him, appointments are made before seeing or meeting with Mr Baldwin" she said very calmly and politely.
"Is there no way I can see him today?"
"No, unless you'll make an appointment today and come back tomorrow"
What should I do now? I must see him today and get this papers signed, then an idea suddenly popped up in my head.
"Can you give his office a call and inform him that Miss Rachel Richards is here to see him?" I asked.
"Yes, please hold on a second" she said and started typing away in her landline.
She spoke softly to someone on the other end for a few seconds, then turned back to me with a smile.
"Mr Baldwin allow you to see him" she said.
"Thank you" I thanked her and headed towards the elevator.
It's not surprising that not even one of his staffs recognize me, I have to make appointments before I get to see my own husband, what a shame.
I got in the elevator and pressed the 47th button, then I patiently waited for elevator to bring me to my destination.
♣♣♣♣♣
Finally, the elevator came to a stop, the doors opened and I stepped out.
I walked towards the end of this floor, before I finally saw a door and I knew it's Duncan's office. I knocked on the door and heard a faint come in.
I pushed the door open and entered.
Duncan smiled when he saw me walk in, his eyes trailed my body and I saw his Adam's apple move as he gulped, even his jaw dropped as his eyes stayed glue on my chest.
Yeah, that's it, that's the look I wanna see on his face, I want him to know I'm doing great without him. I smirked mentally on the effect I have on him.
He got up and walked towards me with his arms wide open, as if he's inviting me for a hug. I slightly pushed him aside and sat on the chair in front of his table.
He sat on the chair next to me and continued smiling at me.
"My heartbeat, what are you doing here? Why did you suddenly come to see me in my office today?" he asked.
Really? Heartbeat? That's so hypocritical of him, heartbeat indeed! Gone are the days when my heart flutter everytime he called me his heartbeat.
"I'm here for a very important business, so, let's get down with it" I said.
"Ooh, I love businesses" he replied with a smile.
He's so clueless, he doesn't know what I've come for, because he wouldn't be smiling if he knows.
He tried to reach for my hand, but I slapped his hand away and threw him a glare.
"I'm not here to mess around with you" I dipped my hand in my bag and pulled out the file Mike gave me earlier, then slammed it on his table. "Let's divorce!" I dropped the bombshell.
He stared at the file on the table for a while, then looked up at my face.
"You're kidding, right?" he asked with a chuckle.
I stared back at him, with my face free of every emotions.
"Do I look like I'm kidding?"
He looked back at the file.
"So, you really want a divorce?"
"Yes, and I have signed it" I said as I pushed the file towards him. "I don't need your properties or money, just sign it"
He shifted his gaze from the file to my face, he stared directly in my eyes for a while as if he's searching for something only God knows.
"I'm not gonna sign it" he said.
I frowned.
"Why? There's nothing holding us back, right?" I nodded at it. "Just sign it and we'll both be free"
"Darling... "
I glared at him and he swallowed his words immediately, but he soon cleared his throat and continued.
"We're husband and wife, Rachel, you can't just wake up one day and spring divorce papers on me"
I gaped at him.
"Husband and wife?" He nodded. "Do you even recall the road to your home? When was the last time you came home? When was the last time we had breakfast or lunch or dinner together?"
He tilted his head as if he's really trying to recall it.
"See? You don't even remember, and you still think of yourself as my husband?"
"Yeah, I do take care of you and never let you lack of anything"
What is he trying to say? In what way does he care for me?
"I do send you money everyday and make sure I pay our workers in time"
I banged on the table immediately he vomited those words, and he flinched back slightly.
"What is wrong with you? You are a billionaire now and you think money can solve or buy everything?"
"Rachel... "
"Don't call my name, you have no right to say it!" I snapped at him. "Can money cuddle with me during cold, raining nights? Can money make love to me and produce kids? Can money remind me to take my drugs in time everytime I fall sick?"
Hurt flashed across his eyes, he quickly shut them, leaned back on his chair and shoved his hands in his pockets.
"I don't need your money, Duncan, what I need is your companionship and you aren't offering it"
I pushed my hair back and blinked to fight back the tears that were threatening to fall, I didn't come here to cry.
"Or do you think I've been living off your money?" I chuckled. "No, I'm not, I have my own money and it's enough for me, even though it's not much"
"You don't understand why I'm distancing myself from you, everything is not as easy as I'm making it seem and... "
"Then make me understand" I cut in. "Let me know your difficulties"
He simply shook his head.
"I can't, it's gonna hurt you and I don't want that"
"Hurt me?"
"Yes, the lesser you know, the safer you'd be for me.." he folded his arms on his chest. ".. just give me sometime and I'll make everything go back to normal soon"
I scoffed at his empty promise.
"I'm tired, Duncan, very tired" I said "I'm also tired coming back from a very busy day at the cafe, only to meet an empty and lonely mansion everyday"
"I..."
I raised my hand to stop him and shook my head.
"My mind is made up, just sign the divorce papers and we'll both be finally free" I said.
He got up, stared at the papers with a deep and serious frown, then he sighed deeply.
"Fine, but I ain't gonna sign it now"
"What? Why not now?"
"Come to my concert and I'll consider signing it"
I narrowed my eyes as I wondered; what's going on up there in his head? what he he trying to do?
"I'm not coming to your concert, my presence there doesn't matter and..."
"Just come, I have a very important announcement to make and I can consider signing it after"
Wait, a very important announcement? Has he finally decided to make our marriage public? Has he finally decided to tell the world I'm his wife?
"Fine"
"Fuçk yeah!" he exclaimed quietly. "Did you receive the dress I sent? Do you like it?" he asked.
"No"
He sighed.
"I guess the delivery man will deliver it later, wear it tonight, I wanna see how it looks on you" he sighed. "It's been long I saw you try on a dress" he added.
"And whose fault is that?" I asked with a raised brow.
He speechlessly scratched the back of his neck and grinned goofily.
"I'm leaving"
"Oh, my driver will drop you off"
I quickly shook my head in disagreement.
"No, I prefer taking taxis" I replied him. "And tell your girlfriends to stop paying me visits, I might murder one of them someday" I added and headed towards the door, leaving Duncan completely speechless.
