"I'm going back." My breathing is steady and my mind is made up. Nue was the first to disagree with me.
"Like hell you are! Nia, I don't know about everyone here but I'm not letting you be a science experiment."
"Nia, giving yourself over to them again…we have no idea what they'd do to you." Bee rubbed the backside of her arm; her melancholy eyes bore into mine, silently pleading with me to reconsider.
"No. I told you we've got this Nia." Elias added, resolute.
"And there's no point in all of you trying to stick with me or protect me is there. They only really wanted me. I'm the catalyst so just let me go already." Why was this so hard for them to understand? It was me over them, an easy choice for a stranger to pick. We were just strangers to each other…weren't we?
