I shook my head and the dark feelings of losing someone else important in my life. "No. Thank you but no. I want to be with them and they've made it pretty clear they want to be with me too."
She smiled and gave me a knowing look but then it turned forlorn.
"Listen…I said things would get tough but the toughest thing…it's your father. Henry put a virus into SUIPP systems to disable us at any time. He used that to bargain for your freedom but regardless of the reason he's now a wanted criminal amongst SUIPP. If it were only just that then we could be civil about his punishment but it's not."
My heart sank, Henry, what on earth are you doing?
"He's trying to amass a small army to disrupt and dismantle us, Nia. The man who's worked for us for so long is trying to destroy us. There will come a time that we will most likely use you as bait to draw him in."
