A few months ago, I met someone amazing. Her name is Nia and she's a superhero. It was scary the first time she bloomed in front of me but it didn't matter because she gave me superpowers too! I want to be just like her one day, strong and brave and beautiful.
She's not afraid to fight, she's not afraid to cry either.
It's because of her that I was able to grow closer to my friends and I even saved a mom and her baby from dying in a fire! It's all because of Nia. My hero and my friend.
On my dresser there's a few pictures we've taken together, bright and smiling and happy. When I'm with her I really feel that way.
So why can't I tell her…just tell her how miserable I am? My mother currently had my phone so that was part of why I couldn't.
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
I jump slightly, still hiding under my bed from my mother as she bangs heavily on the door, even with the door locked I'm terrified. Even with this wonderful power…I'm still afraid of her.
