Chapter 8 - The Waiting Game

'Ah…'

'it's a torment not being able to figure things out.' Andrew thought.

He glanced around the room, taking in the expensive furniture and high-tech equipment. He couldn't remember how he had gotten here or why he was in this room.

The door creaked open again, and this time a group of people dressed in white coats entered the room. The room was soon filled with the sound of shuffling feet as the group of medical professionals filed in.

The nurse noticed his confusion and smiled sympathetically.

"You've been through a lot, Mr. Andrews," she said.

But don't worry, you're safe now."

Andrews tried to remember something, anything, but his mind was a blank slate. She placed a thermometer under his tongue while examining his eyes.

She asked him a few questions about how he was feeling and recorded his responses in a notebook. Turning to a man standing in the corner of the room, she began discussing something with him in hushed tones.

"This nurse is so kind," he thought to himself. "She knows how to treat people with compassion." He turned his gaze to the door and saw someone peeking inside. He recognized the person as the same one who had run out of the room moments ago and called for the doctor.

'What did he call me again… Young Master? How'

"Hey," Andrew said, his voice charming and he invited him over.

"Can you please come over here?"

The man nodded, feeling a strange pull towards Andrew. He grabbed the stool and sat down, still trying to place where he knew him from. The man stared at him intently, not saying a word, but Andrew could see the tears welling up in his eyes.

The man felt a lump, his eyes shining with emotion. "I've been waiting for you… Young Master…," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I've been waiting for you to come back to me!."

The man felt a wave of emotions wash over him as he realized that he had finally found the one he had been waiting for. They sat there in silence, staring at each other.

'What's all this…'

'And… Who is this person…. Did I made him cry?'

Andrew's heart ached as he saw the tears streaming down the man's face. He was confused and didn't know what had happened to cause such obvious distress, but he knew he had to do something to try and comfort him.

Without hesitation, he reached out and put his arms around the man, pulling him in close. The man grabbed onto Andrew's hands, holding on tight as he continued to cry.

"It's alright now," Andrew whispered, unsure of what else to say. "No need to worry, okay?"

The man looked up at him, his eyes filled with pain and confusion. Andrew could see that he didn't know what was going on either, but he was doing his best to be there for him.

"I don't know what to say," Andrew said, feeling helpless. "But I'm here for you, and I'll do whatever I can to help."

The man nodded, gripping Andrew's hands even tighter. They sat there in silence, the only sound the man's quiet sobs. Andrew didn't know what the future held, but he knew that in that moment, all he could do was be there for the man in his arms, offering whatever comfort and support he could.

The man looked up at him with tears streaming down his face, "Young Master... You know how hard it was for me..."

Andrew felt a knot form in his stomach as he realized the depth of the man's emotion. He didn't know what had happened, but he could see how much it affected him.

The man continued, his voice cracking with emotion, "I... I... see you every day... you were sleeping... not opening your eyes..."

Andrew felt a pang of guilt as he thought about how he must have appeared to this man, lying there unconscious and unresponsive.

"I... always hope for a day when... I could finally talk to you..." the man's voice was barely above a whisper as he spoke, his eyes filled with longing.

Andrew felt a lump form in his throat as he realized how much this man had cared for him, even when he was unable to respond.

"I am... so happy to see you... You know... " the man's voice broke as he spoke, and he began to cry openly, as if he had been holding in his emotions for days.

Andrew reached out and pulled the man into a hug, feeling his own tears welling up in his eyes. As he hugged the man and patted his head, a sudden pain shot through his skull, causing him to wince.

It was like a massive wave of memories crashing into him, overwhelming him with their intensity. The pain was almost unbearable, and it was all he could do to hold on as the flood of memories rushed in.

'Ah… what's this pain….'

Andrew's world was spinning as a flood of memories washed over him. The pain was so intense that it felt like his head was going to explode. He clutched at his temples, trying to keep himself upright as the memories came crashing in, one after the other.

They were so vivid and real that it was as if he was reliving them all over again. The pain left Andrew struggling to catch his breath.

'I had no idea what had just happened'

'But now I knew one thing for certain… This isn't my body….'

'And this… Isn't the same world where I use to live…'

'This…. This is Reincarnation!…'

'But that's impossible!!…'

The reality of the situation hit him like a freight train and he couldn't believe that this was happening to him.

He remembered the man, crying and holding his hand, speaking with a voice full of emotion. The man's name was Alex. He remembered feeling a deep sense of familiarity and belonging when he was with Alex. He couldn't quite put his finger on why, but he knew that Alex was important to him.
