Chapter 12 - The City from Above

He cautiously walked towards the giant windows, which were currently covered by curtains. As he reached the window, he hesitated for a moment before reaching out to pull back the curtains.

His heart began to race with anticipation as he had always been curious about the world outside. With a trembling hand, he reached out and slowly drew back the curtains, revealing a breathtaking view of the city below.

The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a warm golden light over the streets and buildings. Luke could see people bustling about their daily business, cars speeding by, and the distant sound of chatter and laughter drifting up to his ears.

Luke couldn't believe his eyes as he looked out at the sprawling metropolis before him. The city seemed to go on forever, stretching out towards the horizon and fading into the deep blue sky. The buildings were tall and imposing, reaching up towards the heavens like sentinels watching over the people below.

The streets were teeming with life, and Luke could see all manner of people going about their business. There were businessmen in suits hurrying to work, mothers pushing strollers, and children playing in the parks. The sound of car horns and the chatter of people filled the air, and Luke couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer scale of it all.

But what really captured Luke's attention were the clouds. They were so fluffy and white, like cotton candy, and he couldn't help but want to reach out and touch them. He felt as though he were looking at a painting, one so beautiful and perfect that it seemed almost unreal.

As Luke continued to take in the view from the window, he suddenly realized that everything seemed pretty small. He felt as though he were looking down on the world from above, like a bird soaring in the sky.

Curious, Luke leaned forward and peered downwards, trying to get a better look at the streets below. It was then that he noticed the numbers on the building across the street and he realized he was on the 25th floor of a skyscraper.

The realization hit him like a ton of bricks and he felt a rush of adrenaline. He was standing on the top of one of the tallest buildings in the city, looking down on everything and everyone. The sensation was both exhilarating and terrifying.

Luke couldn't help but feel a sense of vertigo as he looked down at the tiny cars and people below. He felt as though he were on top of the world, and that anything was possible. But at the same time, the height made him feel a bit dizzy and he step back from the window feeling a little lightheaded.

For a moment, Luke felt as though he were standing on the brink of a new world, one filled with endless possibilities and endless wonder. He couldn't help but smile as he took in the sights and sounds of the city, feeling a sense of excitement and joy wash over him.

Luke couldn't tear his gaze away from the mesmerizing view outside the window. He felt like he could stand there for hours, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. But as he stared out at the horizon, he suddenly remembered that he had other things to do. He realized that he needed to take a bath and start his day.

With a sigh, Luke reluctantly turned away from the window and headed towards the bathroom.

As Luke entered the bathroom, he couldn't help but be impressed. The bathroom was more luxurious than he had imagined it to be. There was a separate shower room with gleaming marble tiles and a rain showerhead, and a deep bathtub that looked like it could easily fit two people. The bathroom was spotless, and he could tell that a lot of care and attention had gone into its design and maintenance.

Just opposite to the door of the bathroom, he found himself facing a vast mirror that stretched from floor to ceiling. He couldn't help but stare at his reflection as he walked closer. His body was tall and slim, and there was something mysterious in his eyes. They were black, just like his hair which gave contrast to his face, sweetly dark upon soft white. His lips were soft and slightly pouted, giving him a hint of a smile.

Luke couldn't help but feel a sense of pride as he looked at himself in the mirror. He felt confident and attractive, and couldn't help but think that the mirror was reflecting back the best version of himself.

"Whoh... This person looks amazing!" he said to himself as he lifted his silky hair from his forehead with his hand.

With a smirk, he thought to himself, 'No doubt everyone was blushing after looking at me.'

As Luke looked at himself in the mirror, he suddenly felt a fragment of memory appear in his head. He couldn't quite place it, but it felt strange and confusing. He couldn't understand why he felt this way, but he knew that it had something to do with the previous owner of that body.

He put one of his hands on the mirror and saw his reflection. As he looked at it, the memory became clearer, and he began to understand why the previous owner had to do all that stuff. He felt a sense of sadness and regret for the person he was before, and for the choices that he had made. His eyes became red, and a tear came running down his cheeks as he realized how much the previous owner had lost, and how much he wanted to change.

Wiping his tears, Luke stepped towards the shower room, resolving to make the most of his second chance and to be the best version of himself that he could be.. He wanted to take a warm shower to wash away the sadness and regret he was feeling.
