Sol's achievement not only made the people of the sixth tribe excited but it kept the other families and tribes on their toes. The son of that monster manifested the same power his father used to dominate the battlefield, how could they not be scared?
The hellhound is truly terrifying!
Unfortunately by the laws of the realm, they can't touch Sol and even if they could, the five tribes of the Ark family won't stand and watch their own attacked unjustly, especially since he is the Last bloodline of the past chieftain. Also, among those who stand in their way are the Greyfang family. For some reason which is still unknown, the werewolves have this passive loyalty towards the hellhounds of the Ark family.
Unless given a reason to be punished, they won't let a person hurt a hair on Sol, especially now he has manifested the power of the hellhound. Right now they can only hope the seal on him would be strong enough to hold down that power.
"Hmph! The more he uses that power, the closer he will be to his grave. If you love this young heir then advise him to stop trying to tap into something that does not belong to him!" The witch court elder said in a cruel tone. Her figure was shrouded in the darkness making it impossible for anyone to see.
If Sol were present he would be shocked to see the ƙhai'k sitting in place of him on the round table.
"The sixth tribe has birthed a new and capable chieftain… I would ask you to refrain from inviting me to these meetings and call upon our chieftain directly." ƙhai'k said indifferently.
"None of you are qualified to decide what does and does not belong to my master. If it's not his then why does his hand grasp it?" Ƙhai'k eyes suddenly turned sharp and everyone in the room frowned.
"I failed to protect the last chieftain but this time I will not fail again... If Hallow mountain chooses to stand against my sixth tribe again, I will be the first they will meet on the battlefield, and believe me, unlike the sixth chieftain, I do not know what mercy means!" Ƙhai'k's eyes shone with killing light as he said those words.
Without hesitation, he turned and walked out with a smile. Ignoring the furious screams behind.
...
Sol remained oblivious to what was happening and remained in the sixth tribe castle. He never left his room and this time he was surrounded by countless books brought to him by the Ƙhai'k before his 'departure'
The more Sol read about Hallow mountain, the more disturbed he became. Back on earth, all these monsters were used in fantasy shows and dramas which he liked to watch from time to time but he wasn't too deep into them.
According to everything he has learned so far, Hallow mountain has the portal leading to the mortal world, and to cross over, they need to get past the four families.
If this is the duty of Hallow mountain and all its inhabitants, then why did the sixth tribe chieftain feel the need to shatter the balance? From the way the man spoke in his memories, he didn't sound like a man who wanted to conquer the world as people make him out to be, he was simply a man who wished to protect those around him and he did what he thought was best.
But what could be strong enough to scare a man who can battle the entire Hallow mountain alone?
"The more I know, the more terrifying it becomes in my mind… I sincerely hope my gut feeling is wrong" Sol said with a deep frown.
It took him a week to go through all these books and yet he found nothing outstanding. It felt like the sixth Chieftain refused to record his problems for a reason. Is that why he used the system?
Is he the one who created the system?
Flap!
Sol jumped off his bed and landed gracefully while his robes fluttered with the wind. He decided to put aside these matters for now and leave the castle for once.
He is the sixth tribe chieftain after all, as a leader it's important to make an appearance once in a while.
...…..
Only after stepping outside his doors did he realize how empty his mansion was. Apart from a few maids and guards no one else resided here and every one of them seemed to be in a dull mood. Only after seeing Sol appear for the first time did their mood improve.
Even before Sol reached the streets, news of his journey had already spread across his domain and everyone began moving. People began gathering and soon the streets were packed as everyone gathered to see what their new chieftain who managed to pass the rite of passage with a weak body, and the Chieftain who managed to kill an orc looks like.
"Small…" Sol commented on the size of his domain.
In comparison to his life on earth, his domain was only worth half an average-sized state at best.
He sat on his horse as he rode down the packed streets with a straight face. A few guards followed, preventing people from reaching him. The people were neither cheering nor booing, instead, they all wore curious looks on their faces.
They knew nothing about him so they didn't know how to react to his arrival. For some reason, Sol felt something was wrong with this town since it gave him a fading feeling.
Ding!
[Each tribe is sustained by the embers of eternity. Each exists in the secret chambers of the chieftains. Once a chieftain dies, the flames are extinguished and the strength of their people dwindles with time until it truly fades and they are expelled from the Hallow mountain]
Sol read this message with a deep frown on his face. Unlike the people from the other tribes and families, he always looked dull and out of touch. He finally understood why!
