Ouch!
Sol moaned as he slowly opened his eyes and looked up. He could see the smoke rising in the air and the clear day sky.
Bam!
"Theresa" Sol cried out as he sat up, only to see a youth his age with grey hair. He wore glasses and he had a lanky figure.
"Theresa?" The grey-haired kid asked with a confused look on his face.
Seeing this Sol was slightly disappointed. He quickly checked himself and realized his wounds had been bandaged and his clothes had been changed. He looked to the side and saw the scorched clothes left at one spot and he dragged his body to it, ignoring the kid.
Putting his hand inside the pocket and pulling it out, he saw the academy token was perfectly fine.
"Impressive" Sol said with a thoughtful look on his face.
"Erm, a thank you would be nice?" The kid stammered as he looked at Sol's firm back.
In response, Sol was stunned and remembered the ignored savior. He quickly turned to look at the kid but the kid quickly curled up into a ball and covered his face with his palms.
"Don't worry you don't have to apologize, I'm sorry" the kid cried out leaving Sol stunned.
It is one thing to be timid but it is another thing to be a wimp.
"No, thank you for your help. If you ever need help in the future, you can do well to find me" Sol said emotionlessly before he began walking away.
Wait!
The kid jumped forward and grabbed onto his legs.
"Please don't leave me, this place is scary" the kid cried out and Sol frowned. He hated men with this kind of personality since is someone that always believed in the importance of masculinity in a man.
"Don't bother me anymore" Sol said indifferently and broke free from the kid's grip and continued his journey.
Right now he was shirtless with no shoes and only grey trousers from the kid. His bandages looked clean but Sol still felt sharp pains.
Grrrr!
His belly made weird sounds as he felt overwhelmed by hunger only remembering he hadn't eaten since the previous day. His eyes fell on the grilled meat with more meat being grilled he finally stopped and sighed.
"Very well, you can travel with me but you will do as I say, and, you will handle the minor tasks like cooking and all that," Sol said indifferently but the kid's face lightened up like that of a baby seeing his mother for the first time after a long day.
"Agreed!" The boy cried out enthusiastically as he ran over to Sol, offering him his hand to shake.
"I'm Kevin Greyfang" Kevin introduced himself
"Sol…. Sol Ark" Sol said indifferently.
Buzzz!
The kid trembled as fear appeared in his eyes and he looked at the black-haired kid. His eyes seemed to reveal his conflicted thoughts concerning these things. Sol was a popular name now in Hallow mountain. After the sixth chieftain's incident with the blood witch, everyone avoided the name and only one person now bears such a name here.
"You don't wish to follow me anymore I understand" Sol seemed to have expected this reaction.
"No! No! No! Don't get me wrong. I have heard terrible stories so I expected you to be a terrifying person but you are the nicest person I have met so far" Kevin said hastily and Sol was stunned.
This was the nicest thing anyone has told him since he came to this world. His eyes fell on this kid and he frowned.
[Name: Kevin Greyfang]
[Family: Greyfang]

[Wolf core: Infant Phase]
[Stat]
[Strength: 5]
[Speed: 5]
[Dexterity: 5]
[Awareness: 5]
His stats looked average but the figure on his hand of this kid was thirty! Even he who has killed a goblin warlord and a ghoul only had six points and this was just the first day.
"This kid" Sol's eyes revealed strange lights as he was lost in thoughts
...
After eating and talking with Kevin, Sol was stunned. He realized he had been unconscious for more than a day. He realized this was the third day and this explained why his weakened state period was already over.
It was already noon by the time they were done discussing, so they started returning to the starting ground of the first test. Sol felt heartbroken as he lazily followed Kevin to the starting point. He was given a side quest to become the overall number one by the end of the competition. He hoped on gaining the quest bonus but seeing Kevin with thirty points already. Sol wasn't sure he would be able to cover up in the next test.
Boom!
A loud cloud of dust could be seen in the distance, making Sol frown. The chaos was coming from the direction.
"Let's go back" Kevin said timidly but Sol paid no attention to him.
If there was something there, then this is another opportunity for him to lessen the gap between them. He didn't feel like asking Kevin how he gathered so many points in a short space of time.
