Sol gazed at the information displayed to him and he felt confused. The setting of this world was back in medieval times with no electricity or weapons of mass destruction and chaos. His eyes remained calm but his mind was in turmoil.

The awakening rites are the ritual all members of the four families take part in to officially awaken their abilities as soon as they turn fifteen. Each race has its rites and ceremonies, just like the Ark family.

"Everyone is expecting me to be dead. I'm really weak and unsure if I can make it. My body is too weak and is yet to recover… this will be difficult" Sol muttered thoughtfully.

Clank!

At that moment the door swung open and a maid walked into the spacious yet empty room. Outside Sol's bed, nothing else could be found in the room, which is strange for the son of a chieftain who should be considered one of the wealthiest people in this place as far as wealth can go.

"My lord! My lord has awoken!" The maid's voice quivered with immense joy as she fell on both her knees and bowed.

Sol casually shot her a curious glance but then the entire room began vibrating as sounds of people rushing forward could be heard. Soon the room was packed, filled with so many maids and servants, all kneeling gracefully with excited looks on their faces.

Sol could even spot a few weeping silently while kneeling and he mentally took note of it. Their emotions meant nothing to him but that didn't mean he didn't respect them. Sol has always been someone to stand at the center, avoiding the concept of good and evil or right and wrong but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a sense of morality.

His daily life and actions have been guarded by his rules and laws and they will always remain that way.

Sol was the only hope for these people to regain what has been lost. The sixth tribe of the Ark family was on the brink of extinction. At this point, they needed a new leader, Sol.

..........

Ding!

Dong!

Creepy bell sounds rang loudly as midnight approached. As customs requested of them, the materials needed for the rite were present. As long as the person going through the rites is able to survive the process there is nothing else to fear.

It was a brightly lit fire that kept burning endlessly in the middle of nowhere.

On this very occasion, all the tribes can be seen clearly mixed up and chatting happily but the sixth tribe was absent.

Seated next to the burning flames were five figures coldly gazing toward a castle located in the distance. Their eyes bore no hatred or disdain, instead what could be seen is fear.

The world fears what it doesn't know since what it doesn't know isn't something that it can control. A child burn of a witch and an Ark is not something that has been done before. It's not something that should be allowed to exist.

At this moment they were torn between killing the child and letting him live.

"I heard there was a commotion in the sixth tribe's castle, I heard the new chieftain has finally awakened from his long sleep," someone in the crowd said in a mocking tone.

"Hahahaha! I heard he is a cripple and is already in critical condition. So what if he woke up? He will die anyway!"

"Hmph! He should have just died in his sleep, we don't need that half and half!"

[A/N: Half and Half is another way of calling him an outcast]

While people kept chatting, gossiping, and blathering, the five chieftains remained seated with cold looks on their faces. Their eyes seemed to narrow as they peered into the distance as if the secrets of the world were revealed to them.

Bong!

A loud sound resonated from the sixth castle signifying the arrival of a chieftain! The entire arena fell silent as everyone watched with expectant eyes. Many have only heard of the small demon born by the two traitors but they have never seen him. There are rumors that this kid is more of a monster than a human and should be thrown outside the town.

Finally, they would get to see if all of this is true.

Swoosh!

A calm breeze blew past as the members of the sixth castle slowly appeared in sight, with four people carrying a carriage. On the exposed carriage was a deadly pale youth, so thin his bones were showing. His eyes were sunken but closed and his black hair fluttered in the wind

Sol was shirtless, revealing the red binding seals spread across his body, forever serving as a leech that will forever feed off him until he dies. While his condition looked critical, Sol carried a mature air around him which made everyone present uncomfortable.

Their eyes were pinned on the seated youth and even after ten minutes, Sol was yet to move but strangely no one made an attempt to attack at this time.

Only after the twentieth minute did he finally open his eyes as he slowly but steadily rose to his feet with a ghastly pale face.

As the laws of the Ark must be followed. To fully awaken, an Ark must purify the soul and body by walking the burning trail of transparency. A journey one cannot embark on and return the same. without proper preparations.

The five Ark family chieftains frowned at this sight but they dared not speak. Sol's father may have betrayed them but the man was once a chieftain and their friend.

"Are you ready to walk the fiery path of transparency?" One of the elders said with a deep frown and Sol gave a casual nod.

'Let's get this over with' Sol yawned in his mind.
