Right before her sword slanted into Kota's head, he thought of everything he missed out on. He began to realize as the moonlight caressed his face, that he didn't want to die. Kota Suzuki longed to live, for a moment, his desire to live was so powerful it was nearly tangible. Suddenly, the blade stopped right before it slashed into his skin.
"You can't die on me." A voice echoed in his head.
Kota nodded, to whoever was in his head. Then he backed up, adding more space between him and the titan lady. The lady stared Kota down, "Before I kill you, I'll tell you my name. It's Akira Rosario".
Kota clenched his fist, he didn't care about her name or who she was. He simply wanted to defeat her. He sprinted towards her and then leaped into the air. He slammed his right fist into Akira's left eye. However, Akira lunged backward, then dashed forward. She swooped her sword downwards, attempting to cut Kota's legs. He hopped into the air, then sat on the gigantic blade. Then he ran towards Akira whilst on the blade, and slammed his left foot into her mouth region.
Akira stumbled backward, she was simply surprised by his attack. "Interesting attack, kiddo." Then she raised and threw her blade at Kota's face.
Kota froze in fear, the fear crawled up his throat and began to clog his breathing. He was going to die and there was nothing he could do about it. For the first time in nearly forever, a tear was shed from Kota's blue pupils. The tear streamed down his face rapidly and slammed into the ground.
But there she was, the girl who had saved him from before. Her long silver gleamed brightly in the moonlight as she raised her hand forward. Suddenly, a red aura covered both Kota and the silver haired girl. Then the girl glanced back to Kota, and flashed him a faith-restoring smile.
The smile brought him resolve, and gave him enough courage to continue.
"My name is Lumen." The silver haired girl said before releasing the barrier secluding them.
Akira pursed her lips upwards, then let out a blood curdling roar. "It's me from before, this time I'm not gonna lose." Akira said before sprinting towards Lumen.
Lumen cackled wildly in the ladies face, for a moment, Lumen seemed more evil than the Akira. Then Lumen sprouted up her leg and smashed it into Akira's face, "Do you really think you can beat me?".
Akira got sent flying out of the apartment building then she got slammed into the solemn streets. Lumen stared at her through the massive hole in the wall, her face scrunched up in pure disgust. Kota slithered behind Lumen, and looked at the lady squirming on the street.
"What's going on..?" Kota whispered.
Lumen smiled at Kota, "You know about their operation, so they need to get rid of you. But I won't let them, you're my successor after all."
Those words filled his head just like Minori's. Successor, special? What did those words mean, actually, what did they mean by those words?
The air around them became tighter as Akira sprung out from the street and leaped into the apartment, dragging Lumen by her left hand. Kota leaped out the way just in time to avoid the lady.
Akira slammed Lumen into the apartment floors rapidly, then she'd throw Lumen into the fridge. Lumen bounced off the fridge swiftly, then she'd snap her fingers. "Lightus Regalia." Lumen muttered, then her arms began to become engulfed in the light the fridge emitted.
Lumen blitzed towards Akira, and barraged her with punches. Then she'd finish her off with a kick in the stomach. Akira got sent flying into the living room couch, however she'd quickly roll off and throw her blade towards Lumen's throat.
The blade flew through the air, and each moment the tension in the room grew, until Lumen punched the blade, shattering it into a million pieces. Kota clenched his fist, he had to help her, it's the least he could do, right? That's all Kota could think about as the ladies fought. Akira glared in horror. "My sword…?" She whimpered, then Lumen blitzed towards her and slammed her fist into her stomach.
A gigantic spectacle of light filled the room. Pure whiteness blanketed their vision, but for Lumen she could see everything vividly. Lumen pulled her fist back and laughed as the light began to fade. Akira laid on the floor, completely knocked out from the barrage of attacks.
"Kota we won…" She said slyly.
Kota nodded, despite knowing he had practically done nothing for her. He felt bad, knowing that Lumen did all the work, but why did she help him? How did she just appear, in fact, what is going on? How do they have these supernatural abilities?
Lumen pranced towards Kota, basking in triumph. Kota smiled shortly, then opened his lips to ask a question, but she stopped him.
"No need to wonder, I'll tell you everything later." Lumen exclaimed, then she faded into dust. Kota stood there, wondering what all just happened. And also, how was he going to fix his apartment?
As the moonlight grew, it slowly consumed his face whole. Kota stared at the moon, wishing it'd answer his unanswerable questions. However, it never responded. After a while, Kota's vision began to wither, and soon enough, he drifted into sleep.
He dreamt of a perfect world, where evil didn't exist and purity only resided. This dream was never ending. In this perfect world, Kota and his friends went on random shenanigans, and they'd always get scolded by Asuka Chihiro. Despite that, he longed for this world more than anything. He wished for this "perfect world" to never come to a close, but didn't he already have this world? Wasn't his desire already fulfilled?
Then he dreamt of a golden city basking in fire, and he saw its once glorious walls become tarnished in flames. He pondered, why had he dreamed of such a city? And why was this dream so vivid.
