Chapter 12 - Identity Exposed

Aiden was silent. He already believed about 70 to 80 percent of Sophia's words. He was shocked, but her expression, tone, and the fact that they had spent so much time together when they were young, made him feel that Sophia had no reason to lie to him. Or rather, she had no reason to lie to him at all.

However, just to be safe, he still asked warily, "I'm not sure if you're telling the truth. Give me a reason to believe you."

"Reason?"

Sophia's lips moved slightly and took a step forward, her eyes flickering with fluorescent light. With just a glance, Aiden was horrified to discover that his body felt as if it were bound, unable to move. Sophia, on the other hand, took her time to pull the dagger from her waist and raise her hand to his neck.

"If I want to kill you, I can do it with just a flick of my fingers. Is that enough reason?"

"Enough, enough…" Aiden didn't dare to question the pain in his throat. As the other party had said, it was easy to kill him, completely deceived by necessity.

"You're smart," Sophia snorted. The light in her eyes disappeared, and Aiden was surprised to regain control of his body.

"What is your ability? Why can't I move when you look at me?"

"Hmph, impressive, isn't it?" Sophia smiled smugly, revealing her little-girl attitude.

"My ."innate ability is Psychiatrist, Sequence 9. I can control people's minds and view their thoughts and memories

Controlling people's hearts?!

Aiden was secretly speechless. It seemed that he had underestimated Sophia's abilities. Putting everything else aside, her serial number indicated that her abilities were much stronger than his. As for how strong she was, there was no way to estimate.

"So, when you saved me earlier, you used your ability to control Lily? Then why did she act as if she didn't remember what happened yesterday when she saw me today?" Aiden asked the question that had been bothering him for a long time.

"That's because I used my ability to erase her memories of that time. Although it's convenient, it consumes a lot of my energy." Sophia was a little vexed. Although the ability to erase memories was useful, every time she used it, she would have a headache for a long time. Moreover, it was impossible to use it again within a short period. It was a very restrictive ability.

"That's right." Aiden nodded.

"No matter what, thank you. If it weren't for you, I might have…" Aiden felt his scalp tingle as he recalled the pain of yesterday's torture.

"Sigh, what's wrong with that? Since we're all Awakened, we should help each other." Sophia waved her hand, not caring at all.

"Any other questions?"

Aiden shook his head. "No." Although he still had some doubts in his heart, he didn't want to ask anymore. Although Sophia didn't say much, the information she revealed was too much and the content was too shocking. He needed time to digest them.

"Since you don't have any, I'll tell you some information about the organization. Before that, you have to tell me about your innate ability." Sophia's beautiful big eyes revealed a trace of curiosity.

Sophia had already revealed her ability, so Aiden naturally had no intention of hiding it. He answered truthfully, "My ability is Priest, serial number 93, ability… It can heal wounds and increase strength, but the side effects are a little big…"

"Supporting ability…" Sophia frowned slightly.

"This is not good news. Our abilities are more supportive. If we encounter another ferocious beast, I'm afraid that it will be very difficult to deal with it. We might even lose our lives."

Aiden was speechless. Although he didn't want to admit it, what the other party said was the truth. Aside from his own ability, Sophia's ability was actually only support. It was just a relatively powerful support. When facing ferocious beasts, there was no possibility of killing them alone.

"So what do we do?"

"I can only think of a way to find more companions." Sophia shrugged, indicating that she had no good solution.

"Can't we apply for that organization to send someone?" Aiden suddenly thought of a problem. Since Sophia was also a member of the organization, why would the so-called Awakened organization allow a support to search for companions alone? At the very least, they should have a powerful Awakened, right?

Faced with his doubts, Sophia, who had always been carefree, revealed an embarrassed expression. She stammered for a long time before muttering softly with a red face, "That, that, I'm not a member of the organization yet…"

"What the hell? Are you kidding me?" Aiden immediately jumped.

"It turns out that you're a non-staff member. Then what the hell are you doing? Even if the two of us are tied together, we won't be able to defeat the beasts. Aren't you courting death by rashly looking for other Awakened?"

How were they supposed to find the Awakened ones among the beasts? Were they supposed to go up, grab their collars, and ask if they were beasts? Wouldn't that be courting death?

"Aiya, don't be anxious. As long as we're careful and don't expose our identities, we can still successfully find the organization." Sophia quickly comforted him, but Aiden could tell that something was wrong.

"Don't tell me… you don't even know where that so-called organization is?"

Sophia blinked and looked down guiltily, unable to meet his eyes.

"F*ck!" Aiden didn't want to ask anymore. The other party's expression had already explained everything. He didn't know if this big sister was stupid. She didn't even know where the so-called organization was and was clamoring to recruit people for the organization. Wasn't she purely stupid?

Perhaps it was because his tone was too harsh but tears welled up in Sophia's eyes. She pouted and explained aggrievedly, "That's all my father told me. Before he left, he asked me to think of a way to recruit members. He told me that he was in an organization called the Eagle Group. He didn't leave any other information…"

Seeing her like this, Aiden couldn't flare up anymore, although he was angry. After all, it hadn't been easy for this girl. Even a man like him couldn't accept that he was surrounded by ferocious beasts at first. Never mind a girl.

"Alright, alright. Let's think about what to do next. We can't fight those ferocious beasts one-on-one, right…"

Before he could finish speaking, the storeroom door opened with a bang. A man, who looked to be in his fifties or sixties, stood at the door. He looked at the two people in the room with a smile.

"What are the ferocious beasts you were talking about just now?"
