When he woke up the next day, Aiden realized that the wounds on his body had practically healed. Other than some red marks on his skin, there didn't seem to be any other abnormalities. However, his body was still very weak and couldn't exert any strength. This made him complain in his heart.
"What a trashy skill. It's so uncomfortable to use it once…"
His mother had already prepared breakfast early, and his father had left for work before Aiden woke. As he watched his mum busy herself in the kitchen, Aiden refused to associate the woman who had raised him with a hideous and terrifying monster. He was more willing to believe that everything that had happened yesterday was nothing more than a nightmare.
However, the slight soreness from the wound on his waist constantly reminded him that everything that happened yesterday was real! The warning from the mysterious voice seemed to be right beside his ear. Although he was struggling internally, he resisted the urge to tell his mother everything. After finishing his breakfast, he left for school.
Along the way, Aiden was extremely nervous when he saw people coming and going. After what happened yesterday, he felt that everyone would turn into a ferocious monster in the next second. He walked carefully, afraid of attracting attention.
As he got closer to the school, the fear in his heart intensified. Apart from the fear of the people around him, he was more afraid of Lily, who had turned into a monster. He suddenly realized that after he left yesterday, he did not know what had happened to Lily. More importantly, would she appear today? If she appeared, would she join forces with other beasts to attack him? What would he do then?
"Hey! Aiden!"
As he approached the school gate, a voice suddenly came from the side. Then, a large hand slapped heavily on Aiden's shoulder. He was already highly nervous and was so frightened by this sudden action that his entire body trembled. His legs almost went weak and he fell to the ground. Fortunately, the person behind him reacted quickly and hurriedly grabbed his arm to prevent him from embarrassing himself in public.
"F*ck, what's wrong with you? You fell with a light pat. Why are you so weak?"
The blond boy who suddenly appeared beside Aiden was one of his best friends. He was also a classmate. At this moment, he was complaining as he struggled to help Aiden up.
As he spoke, another chubby, bespectacled boy appeared and threw his arms around their necks. His beady eyes blinked and he gave Aidan a lecherous grin.
"Hey bro, did you go to a hotel with Lily yesterday? Your legs are weak, hahaha…"
"What do you know!" Aiden glared at them angrily, but he heaved a sigh of relief in his heart. If it was a passerby on the street, he might have suspected that they were transformed from ferocious beasts, but there was no way he could suspect these two.
The blond boy's name was Jack Klent, and the short and fat boy's name was Eddie Valentine. The three of them had grown up together since they were young, and they knew each other better than their parents. It was only because of the two of them that he wooed the goddess Lily. With the two of them by his side, Aiden's anxious heart finally relaxed.
"Hey, hey, hey, what's wrong? Have you forgotten your brother after having a goddess? Oh my god, this is really heartbreaking!" Eddie shouted exaggeratedly as he clutched his chest. The surrounding students all looked at them strangely.
A blush appeared on Jack's handsome face when he realized that many people were staring at them. He lowered his head and pulled Aiden away.
"Hey, you two, wait for me!"
Eddie Valentine hurried after them, and they didn't stop until they reached the door of the classroom, panting.
"I, I said, why, why are we running…" Eddie bent over with his hands on his knees, breathing heavily. His cheeks were covered in sweat. Those who didn't know better would think that he had just run a marathon.
"Phew… I'm so tired…"
"You still have the cheek to say that!" Jack's mouth twitched. He couldn't help but stride forward and pinch his fat cheeks.
"If you hadn't shouted, we wouldn't have been surrounded by so many people."
Eddie didn't seem to care that the fat on his face had been pinched as if he was used to it. Instead, he asked curiously, "Isn't it good to be watched?"
"Oh no! Do you think everyone is as thick-skinned as you?!"
"Who are you calling shameless?!"
Aiden watched helplessly as the two clowns entangled with each other. The two of them seemed destined to dislike each other. They had been like this since they were young. Although Eddie's appearance was average, he liked to be noticed, so he always did strange things in public to attract attention and enjoy it.
On the other hand, the handsome Jack, was the opposite since he was young. He hated being noticed the most. He was usually alone and only let go when he was by their side.
Just as Eden was lost in his thoughts, a voice sounded behind him, causing his hair to stand on end.
"Aiden Thomas!"
Her voice was so loud that almost everyone in the classroom heard it and looked over. Even the two fighting beside him stopped and stood up beside Aiden's side. Eddie Valentine's face filled with excitement as his right hand kept pushing gently at Aiden's back.
"Aiden, come on, the goddess is calling you!"
Aiden's expression was stiff, and his heart was filled with fear. He trembled as he looked in the direction of the voice. With just a glance, his scalp felt like it was about to explode.
The person who came was the nightmare in his heart, Lily Avril. She was wearing the white dress from yesterday, and there was a hint of displeasure on her face. Other than that, she was no different from the usual. However, Aiden knew very well that it was this harmless-looking girl in front of him who had almost crushed him into meat paste yesterday. When he thought of the inhuman pain, he could not help but take half a step back, his body trembling non-stop.
